The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Onyxanna Moon walked alongside the deserted street where once before, not long ago, houses were laid out, shops and other buildings were in buisness, but today all seemed to be dead. In fact, the entire town seemed to be dead. Onyx felt a slight depression in her as she gazed at her once beautifull CIty. She was usually sad, mad and depressed but seeing her City like this after nearly a year in Asia, it was truly depressing.
The young nineteen year-old made her way across an other street which was as empty as the first one. She glanced quickly behind her, three robots had been after her a while back, because she had flown a bit to see where exactly she was. She had, after a good twenty minutes, gotten away but they seemed to catch up everytime. Onyx sighted, no one was there.
Suddenly, as she looked back infront of her she realized someone was actually there. It wasn't a robot though, in fact, it was a man, a man rescuing her from this misery. ''Who are you?'' she said in her usual grave, yet girly tone. The man didn't speak, instead he walked closer. ''I said; Who are you?'' Onyx repeated bt the man only walked forward some more until Onyx could reach out and touch him.
''I'm Nigel, the rest is none of your concern, fallow me.'' he ordered and, Onyx, who was used to fallowing orders simply fallowed the man towards, someplace she had never, ever seen before. In fact, it was the secret MonDragon Lab, where Mutants stayed in hiding, that explained a lot. Onyx didn't say a word as the man brought her inside, he lead the way through part of the building and she found herself in a rather full canteen.
She then, after a full day without eating, realized she was fammished. Taking a seat, she waited a while to get used to her surroundings, and the new life that lay ahead of her. It was surely going to be odd, but wasn't her entire life odd? Wasn't SHE odd? She would fit in perfectly.

Calley
The canteen was officially stuffed to the brim. Lunchtime will do that to a place. Normally, Calley avoided the place like the plague around mealtimes. Too many people. Most of them he knew fairly well, some of them he didn't, but too many people. Too many people bumping against him with intentions that might or might not be malicious, or casually glancing his way in a way that might be somewhat less than casual, or holding conversations that might or might not be about him. Calley loved people; he loved finding things out about them. He did not did not did not like being surrounded by them. Not in human form, anyway. Too many people in the past few months had been a little too gung-ho about physically hurting his human form for him to really be craving human comraderery at the moment. He could do without, thanks.
Unfortunately, the serving staff in the Canteen had put an unofficial ban on him waltzing in as a tiger. Something about him getting fur into all of the other dishes as he clawed his meal of choice off of the line. Clearly, they were just prejudiced against endangered species. Tiger form was much safer than human form, but human form it was. And lunch time it was, because he was feeling ravenous. Ravenous in an entirely unhealthy way. He'd eaten a hearty breakfast and two other meals besides; that made three meals in the past four hours. And yet he was still hungry. He'd gotten very dangerously skinny during the winter because of this kind of hunger. He'd thought whatever it was had cleared up. For the past couple of weeks, he'd been wandering around in tiger or cat form, feeling perfectly fine. He'd even been gaining back weight. Here he was, though, with that same unrelenting hunger. Wonderful. Charming. Great. Just what he needed.
Calley piled his tray high with all of the fattiest foods he could find: french fries, hamburgers, a milk shake, candy bars, ice cream, more hamburgers. He knew he could eat it all. He knew he'd still be hungry afterwards. The canteen worker behind the counter joked that he must be feeling hungry; Calley smiled his habitual smile, and wondered what the man would taste like. Not that he'd ever eaten someone. Not that there wasn't a first time for everything, especially with people who asked really stupid questions.
The packed seating area meant that his choices were limited. He ended up standing behind an Asian woman--a newcomer, clearly, since he'd never seen her before. And he did kind of make it his business to at least recognize everyone in the Labs. He cleared his throat awkwardly.
"Umm, excuse me," he began politely, shuffling from foot to foot, his habitual smile quite pleasantly fixed in place, "that seat next to you--is it taken? 'Cause I'd like to sit down. In it. Next to you. If that's not a problem. Umm, sorry to disturb you." Socially awkward? Him? Nawww.
Onyx glanced around at everyone, they were all people she didn't know, why Onyx, why had she taken this place to go for the first time?. Well, to tell the truth it was that man who brought her here. She wasn't so hungry afterall, she should just be off then. She glanced around some more and realized her table was the only one that was only occupied by her. So she decided it might be best if she stayed, atleast she was alone and could think clearly about what to do from here.
It was rather difficult over all the hubhub of the crowded place, her stomach made a lot of noise too, so she thought of getting up and going to grab herself a plate full of nachos or sushi, Onyx loved sushi, she had eaten some for two month straight when she traveled through out Japan nearly a year ago. Nachos were her second favorite food, she had discovered them when traveling in Mexico, she had even learnt a bit of Spannish too, just basics though like how to say hello, goodbye and a few other small sayings.
At that very moment though, just as the Japanese girl was about to get up, she realized someone was approaching her, someone that she never knew before. Someone that actually talked to her. Onyxanna sat back, as the man asked if he could sit next to her. He wanted to sit next to her? Well, that was actually a first for the brilliant, shy, weird girl. She nodded helplessly to the man, allowing him to sit. A habit of hers was never to talk to anyone until you can fully trust them and she had never quite concered that habit yet.

Calley
The woman wasn't speaking. Interesting. Slightly odd, but interesting. If Calley was in his favorite form right now, his ears would be perked. Interesting things made him forget about dangerous things, like sitting next to mutants with unknown powers. He set his overloaded tray down, shoved a burger in his mouth in less than five bites, swallowed in a not-at-all-close-to-choking manner, and stared at the girl. Stare, stare. Blink. Stare, stare.
"You're rather quiet. Are you mute? I know a mute." The mute was red-headed and vile-tempered, but indeed, he did know a girl who was mute. She was about his own age of seventeen, and a member of a pair of sound-manipulating twins. This woman seemed a bit older than that. "Do you know Sign Language? 'Cause I don't. Umm, can you write?" He started rummaging through his pockets. A few french fries found their way into his mouth in the process. "I think I have a little pad in here, somewhere... Ah! Score, I still have the pen, too! Here!" He proudly shoved both paper and pen towards the woman. "My name's Calley. Could you write yours?" Another burger was in his hand, and half-way eaten. He blinked his baby blue eyes down at it. Huh. When had that happened?
Onyx stared blankly infront of her as the man sat down. She was thinking about what she'd get to eat when she realized that he was staring at her. Onyx didn't like people who stared at her with an odd expression. So what if she wore gothic clothing and had huge make=up and had purple chunks in her hair, she wasn't normal, she was a mutant, a mutant who could aswell kick the man's butt if she needed to. She continued to gaze around her, pretending not to notice the man stare at her but then it became unbarable and she stared back.
Giving him and odd glare, she watched him swallow down the burger he was holding in a few bites. She felt sick, she was so hungry yet there was a ton of food right beside her, she felt like snatching a fre or maybe that bowl of ice cream over there, but she staid quiet. Who knew what mutant power this man had, and he looked well trained too.
Then he started speaking suddenly and Onyx grugingly looked at him as he commented on mute people and sign language and writing. She didn't know what to say. ''No, I'm not mute, I don't know Sign Language and I can write.'' she said softly, yet with a angry tone. She wasn't angry at him much, just that was her normal self. Come on, she had been raised by about seventeen thousand foster families in the past eighteen years of her life who could blame her?
He didn't seem to have heard her and gave her a pad to write on. Ouch, man he didn't know how to act around girls did he. Well, she didn't know how to act around people so what the heck. Shr grabbed the pad and in her beautifull handwritting she wrote ''If you would of had listened to me about half a minute ago, you would of had understood that first off I can speak, second of all I have no idea what Sign Language is and thirdly, I can write. Oh, and my name's Onyx'' she said and gave the pad back to him with - for the first time in eighteen years - a smile on her face. It wasn't a total smile but it was a half, it's progress.
Geo burst through the door to the Canteen, he loved making a good entrance. He ran his right hand through his hair then started walking towards the counter. He had a rough night the night before and was just now waking up. His hair was brushed back and he wore a black muscle shirt, his usual black gloves on each hand and torn jeans with a chain-wallet that hung to his ankle on his right side. He looked around the canteen and noticed a familiar face, one he had seen during his second run from the cops as a mutie. He changed his course and walked towards the face. Calley seemed to be passing notes with a girl that was a bit older then himself. The girl seemed to be a bit adgitated at first but then popped a half-smile. Geo shook his head and walked in from behind Calley placing his hand on the younger mans shoulder.
"Calley, now you wouldn't be bugging this beautiful woman now would you." He gave a little squeeze of his hand to show Calley he was just joking. He offered his right hand to the woman, "Hi, i'm Geo, pleasure to make your acuantence." He had his famous flashy smile on his face. She was rather cute and he loved the goth style on women, which made it kinda perculiar why he had hooked up with Deja in the first place.
Then, to Onyx's surprise an other man, who Onyx thought of as kind of nice looking, burst into the canteen wearing nice clothes for Onyx's style. She'd wear that but with a tank top instead of a muscle shirt, and jeans that were a bit tighter. And yet again to her surprise the man who was a bit older than she was actually walked towards her, but still aiming to talk with Calley.
"Calley, now you wouldn't be bugging this beautiful woman now would you." Onyx looked at the man oddly, he had called her beautifull which was certainly not something she heard everyday, especially the fact that she was the one that was beautifull. Then out of the blue he held out his hand to her. He was named Geo.
Onyx accepted it, she shook it breifly without saying a sound but instead nodding to show she had understood. Then she gave im a small yet forced smile and turned away, facing the empty wall in front of her, back in a dream letting the two men who seemed to know each other talk withoyt her really interupting.

Calley
Heh. After all of that glaring, he finally got her to crack a smile. Mission I Didn't Know I Had a Mission But Apparently It Was To Make Her Smile: Success!
The note made him grin: "If you would of had listened to me about half a minute ago, you would of had understood that first off I can speak, second of all I have no idea what Sign Language is and thirdly, I can write. Oh, and my name's Onyx."
He took the pad, and diligently scribbled a reply: "It's nice to meet you, Onyx. Sign Language is how mute people talk when there aren't technomancers around to make them nifty fake voice boxes. What's your favorite color?" It was always a fun question to ask goths. The answer he received was usually split fifty-fifty between "black" and "clear". Once, he got "the color of your blood in my mouth flavored with the agonized screams of your heart freshly rended". He'd laughed nervously, smiled, waved, and avoided that guy for the rest of the school year. Seventh grade: good times. That'd been before he knew he was a mutant. He'd just pushed the pad back to her when a hand landed on his shoulder. From behind. Then there was a loud voice right next to his ear, and a squeeze.
Calley had dodged under the table before he'd even processed what the voice had said.
~ "Calley, now you wouldn't be bugging this beautiful woman now would you."
With a mildly sheepish air, he came out on the other side of the table, and peered over at the two with a blush. "Umm, hi, Geo. I, ah, didn't see you coming. Or hear you. Or expect you." He sat down in one of the seats on that side, tentatively slid his tray towards himself, and started shoveling his face full of the first thing he grabbed. Ice cream. Ice cream would take the shame away. It wouldn't do much for the blush, though.
Calley was a rather funny guy for Onyx's opinion and she glanced at him as he started replying, while writting. She gazed around a bit oddly, she had never felt this way before, in fact, she seemed to feel more than just happiness. Was it love? Well, of course not, she couldn't love, she had never, ever loved anyone, not even her pet rat she had kept with her for three years while moving from foster family to foster family. Well, okay she had loved the rat a bit but still she didn't love Calley point taken.
As she was about to grasp the pen and pad though, Calley was sent under the table in fright and Onyx let out a laugh, she had made her first sound since entering the place. Calley looked slightly embarassed and Onyx laughing didn't help one bit as she only laughed at things ythat were really funny, meaning she had never laughed in her entire life. She got up, grabbed the pad that had fallen at Geo's feet, grabbed it and read the message.
''Favorite color?'' she let out before even realizing she had spoken. ''Why on earth do you want to know that?'' she added and then held her hand to her mouth, now it was her turn to blush, her dark purple eyes glittering with happiness and embarassement, but why, tell me, why was she embarassed?
Geo felt a bit awkward when the girl did not give him her name but he figured all was good and well. Calley was aparently feeling a bit jumpy and ended up on the other side of the table, suprised at Geo's preesence. "Yeah i have that effect on people. Or have you forgoten our adventures in the park." Geo laughed and took the seat that had been Calley's. The two continued passing notes and the unnamed girl had burst into a quick laugh asking why Calley needed to know her favorite color. Geo felt like a bit of a third wheel at this point so he desided it was time to traverse and get some grub.
He stood, not saying anything, and walked over to the food station. He grabbed a tray and placed several cheeseburgers and some fries on it. He grabbed several pepsi cans from a fridge with a glass door and walked back over to the table. He quickly chugged the first can, he was still dying of thirst from his night of sleeping, and transformed his left hand into a rock fist and crushed the empty can into a small alluminum ball and flicked it towards Calley. "So i haven't seen you around here before. When you get here?" He asked the girl, there was always new people coming into the labs, he supposed that was why it was getting more and more packed at lunchtime everyday.

Calley
Well, at least Onyx seemed to find his far-too-developed reflexes amusing. He could make her laugh by irrationally dodging the slightest of touches from a friend. Great... The thing about a girl laughing at him was this: it did not help his manly blushing. He moved from the ice cream to another burger. Bleh. That was a poor choice of taste combinations.
~ ''Favorite color? ...Why on earth do you want to know that?''
Calley sat up a little straighter, surprised by both her blush and that hand over her mouth. Then it hit him: hand over her mouth. He shoved the last bite of the burger in his mouth, chewed and swallowed quickly, then pointed a victorious finger across the table at her. "Ha! That's a smile, a laugh, and actual words. Take that, your shyness!" He suddenly realized that Geo was looking more than a little put-off. "Don't mind the not-talking. She's practicing being a mute for Halloween," he explained, nodding his head in all seriousness. "It's an early start. On the practicing. Or were you going to be a mime?" He asked, quizzically looking back her way.
~ "Yeah I have that effect on people. Or have you forgotten our adventures in the park."
And that, ladies and gentlemen, made him remember the reason he was suddenly facing Onyx and Geo from the other side of the table. His erratic under-the-table dodge. Riiight. The blush returned. He unwrapped a Milky War bar, and downed a hearty bite. "I haven't forgotten. I haven't forgotten that BLT to the face, either," he grinned: it hadn't been his face the BLT had been aimed for. And it definitely hadn't been Geo who was aiming it. Heh. That's what the rock mutant got for making out with his girlfriend in a public place, so close to the canteen: food-based intervention! It was even more effective than abstinence.
As Geo went to get food, Calley turned his grin back towards Onyx. "So what is your favorite color? Purple? Is it purple? Mine's blue most of the time. Gray some of the time." He nodded in agreement with himself.
And then he saw something bright and shiny hurtling at a high velocity towards his head. He caught it, and blinked down at it. Blink, blink. He moved his head from side to side, appraising its crinkly luster. Then, with the utmost dignity, he started to toss it back and forth between his hands. "Hey, Geo," he said, noting the other cans on the teen's tray, "could I get two more of these? I want to try juggling them."
Felling a little thirsty Syn made her way to the Canteen. It was always full of good stuff to eat and drink. In fact in recent visits the canteen has also offered interesting company as well. Though this wasn't at the top of her list it was always in the back of her mind.
Pushing open the doors the girl's presence was quickly noticed by Hunters little workers. She knew they had all been briefed about her to some extent as they would give her a pretty wide space when passing in the halls or other areas. Syn didn't know what Hunter had told his workers exactly, but what ever it was it cattered to her ego and she liked it.
The room noise quieted down considerably to whispers and glances. Syn looked around and smiled widely at the workers. "What's the matter a girl can't get something to drink around here?" Syn cut in front of one man and grabbed an empty cup off his tray then proceeded to fill it with root beer from the fountain drink station. "Thanks," was all she said as she walked away. Spotting three people who did not look like Hunters flunkies Syn decided to join them. She recognized Calley from seeing him at Sanctuary but the other two were new. "Service really sucks around here wouldn't you say?" Noting how the other girl was dressed Syn winked to her. "Nice outfit."
Onyx's smile faded away, not because she was unhappy with what one of the two men had said but because she had never been happy in her entire life; not even when she had ran away from her foster parents with a big finale - she had made an incredible sheild that destroyed the entire house, - that was how angry she was.
Then Calley started joking around about how she had spoken up. ''Yeah, laugh all you want.'' she said grumpily. ''I was raised that way.'' she said unexpectedly and then shut herself up as Calley started joking yet again about her practicing for Haloween. She simply glared at him and then Geo wen't to get himself food.
''I think I'll do the same,'' she said and then realized that her shyness had gone away so easily that she was sure it would never come back, not when she was around these two boys. Woah. She got up, and started walking just in time to miss Geo's ball of alluminum.
She shoved pass three young woman not older than she was and then grabbed herself a tray. She just wished to cross an other few people but they seemed to manly and tough for her. She even thoght that one of them were evil for some reason. Finally, it was her turn and she grabbed a Hambergurer, no make that two, and a pile of french fries, she also searched for sushi or nachoes but they didn't serve any. To top it off, she picked up a pepsi and walked back to the table with the two men.
Not a moment later, an other girl appeared and Onyx didn't make to much realisation. She simply played with her fries while the girl spoke breifly to the entire group before making her attention on Onyx. ''Yours is awesome too.'' she said emotionlessly and motioned for the girl to sit.
Geo took his other soda can off his tray and did the same thing. He dropped the small metalic ball in front of Calley, Onyx spoke and she didn't seem to pleseant about Calley's joking around. "Yo, calm down, we all got messed up 'rents." He leaned back in his chair and grabbed an empty soda can from the table behind them. The man began to portest till he realized that it was a giant rock hand grabbing his soda, Geo formed a small grin on his face as he returned to his table. Even among mutants he could intimidate others, maybe the loss of Tristan wasn't all that bad.
He went to crush the can then he heard the entire canteen went quiet, he hadn't been really paying attention to Calley and Onyx, that seemed to happen alot lately. He half turned to see the cause of the lack of sound when he saw someone standing in the doorway. Geo had to fight from his jaw dropping and muttering 'homina homina homina' but luckily he had a few years of training with wwomen to keep him from doing that. She was simply the most beautiful girl he'd seen in years, she seemed familiar but he figured he would remember a girl like that.
He had completly lost consintration and his arm shrunk back down to it's normal fleshy size. He could do nothing but watch as she went and got something to drink. Then she turned and sat down at the table with Calley, Onyx, and himself. Geo's mouth worked automatically as she spoke about the crappy service, "If you need any service from now on you let me know, your wish is my command. Breath taking women have that effect on me." Geo's mind wasn't entirly concious of what he was saying it came like a day to day task.

Calley
~ ''Yeah, laugh all you want. I was raised that way.''
Calley just grinned at her glare. Glares were fine: just as long as she didn't get actually physically violent, then glares were perfectly fine. He merrily scooped up the second ball that Geo had given him, and started tossing it back-and-forth with the other as Onyx went for food.
It was about that time that things got eerily quiet. Then tolled the egotistical bell:
~ "What's the matter a girl can't get something to drink around here?"
Calley didn't even have to turn around. He caught the two balls in one hand, and made a face like he'd just licked a wad of earwax. That lovely voice would be Syn. The entirely too-young leader of the Order. Seriously, why wasn't Abyss in charge? Now that would be awesome. Over confident evil queen hornets couldn't hold a candle to awesome red giants with monkey tails.
Oh, but it got better: she was coming over to sit with them. Naturally.
~ "Service really sucks around here wouldn't you say?"
"Nu-huh," Calley replied, noncommittally.
~ "Nice outfit."
~ ''Yours is awesome too.''
~ "If you need any service from now on you let me know, your wish is my command. Breath taking women have that effect on me."
Calley looked back and forth between his two acquaintances. They seemed in rapid danger of being lured in by Syn's nonexistent charms. For the good of the world and all things holy, he must stop her from reeling them in. It was quite unpleasant to have a she-mantis reap your soul, he'd heard.
"Good afternoon, Syn," he cordially spoke, with a beaming smile sent the red-and-black haired girl's way. "Nice of you to join us in the Canteen. Are you tired of eating puppies for all of your meals, or are you just here to grab some salt? " She might be a Scary Boss Lady, but she sure wasn't his Scary Boss Lady.
