The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The little story Katrina spilled out before Syn made the young girl sound very alone and somewhat helpless in a way. It was something Syn was unfamiliar with. When she was young she had her siblings for a while but after the death of their parents Syn was on her own. It was a nice feeling as she was able to do what she pleased so there was never really any time for remorse or loneliness. She was nearly always surrounding herself with others either by tricking them with mental games or by the use of her power.
"Well, I live in New York City. With how things are right now it's much safer to be here for the time being so I don't mind. Hunter seems to have alot of resources here so it makes being here less of a burden. I live with family though since you asked and I don't have a job." Katrina's last question immediately made Syn think about the X-Men. "Well, I'm sure there are jobs we can do but i don't know of any off the top of my head other than working as an X-Man."
With the current topic focusing on the X-Men Syn wanted to see what the girl knew about them. "Do you know the X-Men?"
"All I know about the them is what Calley has told me. He says all the X-men practice fighting human shaped robots so they can get really good at fighting."
Katrina was still uncomfortable about the idea that mutant would practice killing people. It was like... practicing to get really good at murder. Who did that kind of thing?
Though Syn had seen some of the X-Men's fighting first hand she then applied what Katrina told her to her thinking. So the weaklings practice on robots. No wonder they couldn't handle a real fight she thought to herself as a smile made its pressence known. "I see...and do you know any of them or perhaps Calley might know them?"
Syn sure was curious. She was even more curious than Katrina usually was. This was feeling more like an interrogation than a conversation.
Katrina crossed her arms. "I don't know any X-men. They're creepy anyway."
She was beginning to get antsy. This conversation/ interrogation had gone on long enough, in her opinion, and it was getting difficult to sit still- she'd been there for such a long time, just talking. She shuffled her feet and shifted in her chair and glanced toward the door. Maybe Calley would come in for study time and liven things up again. Or maybe Abyss would visit. Or something.
((OOC: Sorry for taking so long. I figured we should wrap this up to free up a thread for ourselves.))
The fidgety movements were noticed by Syn who herself was wanting to move on to something else. Though she was still interested in Katrina she would talk with the young girl another time. Perhaps she might even convince Katrina to help with something later on. The gears were still turning in Syn's mind.
Pushing herself up out of the chair Syn faced Katrina. "I've had a wonderful chat with you Katrina, but I need to get going. I hope to see you again sometime." Finishing her sentence Syn gave a soft smile and left the library to wander the Labs in search of something else that might interest her.
