The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Geo was kneeled on the ground, tightening the buckles on his boots. Not being able to use his powers would be very irratating but he figured that training with a handicap would definatly help him use more stratigy then pure brute strength. As he stood back up he pulled his gloves up to his elbows, his chances at touching earth was totally minimised. He looked around at the people surrounding him. The only one that he even slightly knew was the large red man who he had met in the training room.
He listened to the Abyss' sugestions, "Charging through would definatly have its advantages but we would get roughed up a bit." He liked the idea of working in teams, he had played lots of video games like this and thought it would be fun in real life. Not to mention that this was his first actuall training with the acception of the Danger Room qualification.
Chilla looked around at her team mates. This being her first time really around others of her kind... or any person for that matter, in years she was unsure of how to act around them. Rather than offer her opinion she observed her team mates, one of which donned similar bracelets and anklets to her own. She was told that they would cut down on her reflexes and strength that she had obtained from her mutation. Fifteen years of being hunted by assassins told her to make the people who put the stupid things on her to take them off... Chilla shook her hand trying to shake the weight off, being unsuccessful she glared at it... which didn't help any to take her mind off them. She wasn't allowed to use her powers, which meant she couldn't shift either.
Chilla sat down in a huff... she wanted to play the game , but she wasn't sure she liked the rules. Though she was determined to abide by them. Trying to get her mind in the game she turned to the other three and asked them what they were able to do. Knowing who your working with and what the goal was were the first rules to successful hunting... err... hide and seek... mutant style
Mandain gave a look around where they were, a maze, how great. Mandain too had some sort of bracelets on. Ion was no option to get the device off, since he couldn't use Ion. He looked over to the rest that also were giving some looks to there bracelets. He saw the red guy again, that Horus appeared to know, a girl he had seen from Hades his workshop, and 2 others that he had no idea off. Mandain didn't conceal his eye's, bight yellow eye's were starring at his fellow companions. For the idea off rushing threw the maze, it could work, but painful it may be. Lifting sounded better, since Mandain didn't really had any training suit, he wore his suit with tie as usual. "Let's lift the ones who don't wanna get hurt, who ever wants to go threw the bushes, fine with me. The girl who sat down with puff asked about what everybody's power would be if it wasn't blocked.
"I'm Mandain, I use Ion as attack and defense, I'm not gonna go in to deep about what Ion does, will keep that in mind for later. Also I have an alter ego, but don't worry about him, I'll keep him on a tight leash, at least I hope. If he would come out, then threat him with respect, don't ask why, just do, please." His bright yellow eye's now pointed to the maze. "Let's get this first thing done"
Gazing around at the incredibly large cavern Nox found it hard to connect the sight before her eyes and the mundane labs they belonged to. The space was vast, only by altering the light could she even glimpse the rock above them; she generally wasn’t too fond of being underground but this was something completely different to any stuffy cave she had been in. Her gaze then shifted to the others, the rest of the group. Reminding her mind what it was supposed to be focusing on – the task, well the game, at hand. Abyss, who was wearing what looked to be rather uncomfortable bracelets, spoke first. Charging through? Well though not how she normally approached things, she had to admit trying to find their path correctly would be tedious and they might as well cut to the exciting bit. So she supposed she had nothing against that plan; scratches never hurt anyone. The girl, who Nox had never seen before then asked a question, which in Nox’s opinion was irrelevant; if none of them could use their powers what was the point in wasting time explaining them? Mandain then spoke, and though he did introduce himself, he also seemed eager to get going, which was needed.
It was her turn so she addressed the others “I agree, we need to get going. The plan of carrying those who mind being scratches sounds fine. I’m Nox by the way, but since we can’t use powers I’m not going to waste time explaining mine.” She hoped she wasn’t being too cutting, but this wasn’t the time to stand around and idly chat. “So if there are no objections?” With the last question she had gestured towards the maze with her hand – it was past the time they should have left. Since everyone had had their say, she presumed that there weren’t any objections, and so having finished she, slowly at first, walked towards the maze, hoping that everyone would follow suit. And so the game began.
Geo didn't bother trying to explain his powers to the others, he didn't completly understand them himself. Instead he sat quietly aside a grin on his face in antisipation of the fun to come. He followed after Abyss through the rows of bushes. The path was made moderatly easier by the big red man before him put the branches still scratched at him. He stopped after the frist row to help the others through.

After having checked on the Eastern section, Crystal arrived at the hedge maze on the Northern side. This group also had five players, again with only four that the hologram recognized. Abyss, the red giant who’s clones were currently scattered throughout the area, to serve as obstacles and protection for Katrina. Nox, the electromagnetic spectrum manipulator. Crystal was still a bit unsure of the details of the woman’s mutation. Geo, the earth elemental. Mandain, or Horus, depending on who was in control. He was also a wild card in her files. The fifth player, a woman, Crystal hadn’t seen. Like Voltaire, she added the basics to her file, and decided to watch and see what else she could add later.
Abyss seemed to be taking the lead for the moment, and the group began creating their own path through the hedges, rather than navigate the maze. She smiled to herself. If they were still inside the greenery in a few minutes, when she finished her little look-about, perhaps she could begin her fun here.
Chilla turned to the other women," I wasn't meaning to sound irrelevant, also I was not only asking what your powers were but what other skills you might have that will help us out with this situation. For instance, the red guy here can smash through the hedges." Turning to the red guy Chilla asked, "do you have any idea where you are trying to go"? Chilla still followed the red man through the hedge, not knowing her self where they were trying to go.
There was a bit tension between the group. But they would manage. The red guy, also knows as Abyss made his first way threw the hedge and the group followed. Mandain went on behind the girl. As he went threw the hedge some thorns stuck in his suit, but that was something that was predictable. "There go's my suit, let's move on" He gave a nod to Abyss to keep on bashing threw the hedges to make a path for the rest. It seemed he didn't really feel any pain so. So far the guy behind Abyss helped on to get the rest threw the hedges. "If everyone helps the one behind him get threw this will go fast".
Abyss started modelling the maze in their desire, some would call it somewhat destructive, but that was just a matter of opinion. The rest of them could simply follow through, taking much less of the brunt of the hedges’ resistance that was not to say, however, that their arms were scratch free. The girl defended herself, which was to be predicted, though since she then asked a question Nox decided she wasn’t required to answer, which was probably for the best. Nox followed Mandain, who had suggested that they all help each other, and, though slower, it would certainly help to make the journey more comfortable.
As soon as the dark hedges loomed above her, Nox instantly become aware of the possibility of a threat; it would be so easy to ambush them. Knowing she had the easiest path, being at the back, she insured to keep alert; she wasn’t about to let something sneak up behind them. To make sure everyone was at least aware of the possibility she called out, insuring that even Abyss would hear “I think we should all stay alert, since this maze may be more than an ornament, and I for one don't want to be surprised if it is. ” To her it seemed far more likely that the maze was more than it seemed; children’s games aren’t a good training method, a series of challenges and an aim, on the other hand, could help. And though the maze could be nothing more, experience had taught Nox that it was much better to prepare for the worse. Their progress continued, becoming somewhat repetitive – squeeze through a bush, a step or two on the path, another bush etc. -, but steadily they came closer and closer to their goal – the castle.

As the team pushed their way through the bush, they were subtly being watched. With each push through the hedge, they drew closer to the castle. Despite not taking the proper, yet meandering, path, the hedge was rather immense, and the direct route was fairly lengthy.
Halfway to their goal, the ground began to vibrate; not a constant vibration, but rhythmic, and accentuated. Like footsteps. Heavy footsteps, indicating something large was headed their way. The noise came from the left, and in front of, the mutants.
As they pushed their way through, into one more corridor of the maze, a loud animal-like roar split the air to the left. Seconds later, a monstrous figure appeared, like a scene straight from mythology.
A minotaur. It spied the group, raised its head skyward to roar once more, then lowered it's huge horns, and charged forwards, directly at the team.
(OOC: The Minotaur is a hologram. If hit, the image will fade and reappear in the corridor elsewhere))
When the ground began to shake, like footsteps were coming to wards them, Mandain knew this was going wrong. Loud animal-like roar split the air to the left. "Uhm, that's not good". A Minotaur appeared and was now charging to the team. Mandain wanted to make a jump for one of the hedges, but just in time he could avoid being cut open by thorns, Abyss was now standing firmly in the middle of the path. "Well, shame I can't use my po...." The beast tried to hit Abyss, but luckily Abyss could stop him from charging any further. The only strange thing about the scene was, when Abyss tried to kick it and the Minotaur was just gone, and appeared back further on the road. Abyss made a funny comment about him laying down on the floor, but what truly happened was still unclear. "Maybe this is some sort of trick, a Minotaur can't just teleport, and if he would have, he would have taken you, Abyss, with him, so...." Mandain gave a scratch at his neck "Abyss, you mind just letting it hit you, let's see what happens, if it is fake, it will reappear again further down the path, if not, well then this idea was bad, but you could also try to doge and then touch the beast, let's see what happens" Mandain gave a shoulder pad to Abyss and went standing next to him. "Uhm let's just try this" The beast now was ready to charge again.
(OOC: I’m going to come in- don’t know what has happened to our posting order, I’m just following after Mandain. Oh and Mandain I hope you don’t mind if Nox first tries one of her ideas.)
She had never considered going into fortune telling business, but as the mythological beast charged towards them, for some unknown reason that thought briefly did cross her mind. It was then very quickly dumped by common sense, as her mind focused on the charging beast, which wasn’t even supposed to exist. Since it attacked the front of their column, she couldn’t do much unless she pushed everyone else aside, and she doubted that that would be considered as a prime example of team spirit, which someone had mentioned was the whole point of the exercise. It was therefore, she simply watched, alert and ready if needed but really just an onlooker as Abyss met the creature head on. Or so he tried to do, until it reappeared further down the path. That rather puzzled Nox, since as far as she knew a Minotaur wasn’t supposed to do that. Ignoring Abyss’s now rather useless, and somewhat embarrassing, pose, Nox tried to pin down what just occurred without prevail.
Upon hearing Mandain’s suggestion, she realised maybe she could help here, which just happened to include not using one of them in an experiment. “If you don’t mind, I believe I have a better idea, which runs no risk of accident.” Giving them just enough time to comprehend this, and certainly no time for arguments, she then followed it with a: “Duck!”, as she sent one of her larger knives spinning towards the now, charging Minotaur. Hilt over point, and then hilt once more, the pattern she loved most, picked its way through the stale air as it flew on course to the head of the beast. If the blade passed through there was nothing to worry about - it was simply an image; if not then they might just consider moving out of the way.
(Ooc: Posting order, When Iris made her post, Abyss, Geo and Chilla didn't post, so then it was my turn, Abyss made his post and how I see that post: that post was a catch up post, altough I didn't made my post yet. So that's why my post came after Abyss his post. Hope this clears it up )
