The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(OOC: this is for me to meet more "sporty" people )
Voltaire walked into the training room with a small bag which contained everything he needed for his training. He was wearing a pair of short black training pants and he had some white gym-shoes on. His lower arms and hands where wrapped in bandage. The room was empty, seeing as it was already late and normal people would be preparing for bed at this hour. The only person there was a technician.
"How can i help you this evening" Asked the technician. "I would like to have a few targets that cannot be destroyed, if that would be possible"
The technician punched in some keys on his access pad. There where 4 training dummies coming out of the ground. "Hope this will be sufficient, now if you will excuse me my shift ended." The technician walked of into the hallways.
Voltaire preferred it this way. With nobody around he didn't find himself restrained about using his powers in training. He dropped the gym-bag in the corner. He took off his shoes and placed them next to the gym-bag. He started with basic training doing some push-ups. after 15 minutes he wanted to take it up a nodge so he stood strait up on his hands and started doing push ups in that manner. Sweat dripped from his forehead and he did the push-ups. He had a tensed look on his face. He kept that up for 30 minutes. As he stepped on his feet he walked to the bag and drank from his water-bottle that he took from his bag.
"Enough basic training" He thought. He walked up to one of the training dummies and started hitting it. With every hit he made on the dummy, the more energy he released. He tried to focus on that energy and try to control it with not much success. With one hard final punch, he punched the dummy's head of with a explosion. "Cannot be destroyed, yeah right" He said to himself.
Tris strode into training room 2- her usual work out room for today, it had the technician to pull up some of her more difficult training circuits and, well, it was the room she always got today- tradition ya know.
And so thats why she was extremely surprised to see the red light above the room she wanted to use.
Curious, and slightly annoyed she wasn't getting her way, Tris wandered in to see who had the audacity to steal her usual room.
She walked in to see one of the guys from the stalker meeting pounding the metaphorical stuffing out of a dummy, and with a final explosion, the dummies head was blown clear off.
"Cannot be destroyed, yeah right" she heard him mutter.
Her curiosity now rather outweighing her annoyance- this guy could blow stuff up too....cool.
"Yeah, they dont exactly stand up to the wear and tear in here do they?" she called out, announcing her presence.
"Yeah, they dont exactly stand up to the wear and tear in here do they?" she called out, announcing her presence.
Voltaire turned around and saw a woman with short red hair standing in the door opening.
"Well i asked for the thoughest they had, and this is what i get" He replied as he walked towards his gymbag.
He picked up a towl and wiped his face with it. He took his bottle of water and took a drink from it. He sat down and put the towl around his shoulders. he leaned back against to wall. He turned his head and looked at the woman standing in the door opening.
"So what brings you here, i bet its not those dummies" He asked
Tris laughed in derision, coming further into the room while replying;
"Ha, no, not exactly- they don't stand up to my temper either. I came here for this killer ball game they have set up in this room, its insane- metal ball flying at you at high speeds from every whichway.....completely dangerous, and completely fun......Though I guess since your using the room now, I shall have to find some other way to spend my pent up energy."
She winked- this was all in good fun. In other circumstances she would be livid he'd taken her room, but now... "I'll wait til your done if its cool with you?"
She winked- this was all in good fun. In other circumstances she would be livid he'd taken her room, but now... "I'll wait til your done if its cool with you?"
"Nah, go ahead." He said. "I Need a break though, that killer ball game sounds ..... fun." He sat up straight and put his towl back into his bag. He took out his bottle of water and put it besides him. "If you don't mind i'll watch and if it's a challenge, i'll join in." He said with a grin. "If you don't mind ofcourse" he said and he crossed his legs and leaned against the wall again with his armed crossed.
"Thanks," Tris said simply and happily as Voltaire cided the room over to her and her training exercises willingly.
Tris smirked at the thought of him passive watching her training while the room would be flying with very hard wooden balls going every which way. She strode over and pressed afew buttons on a console on the wall, seting up a very small taste of what she had in mind.
"I dont mind." she assured him, "But you might,....its a kinda surround reality playing field if you know what I mean."
she pressed a button and stepped into the middle of the room, awaiting the object she knew would come.
.....suddenly with a loud pop- a small brown object came at her, moving so fast it was a blur. She brought up her hands and froze the object, a small wooden ball, hanging motionless in the air barely 30cm from her face. Walking back towards him she continued; "See, fast paced stuff." before aiming at the ball and exploding it into nothingness.
Voltaire clapped at a slow pace. "I'm impressed, i blinked three times." He said with a grin. He stood up and walked towards the center of the room. He cracked his knuckles and stretched his arms. As he passed the woman he said: "Guess i'm up for this game."
As he stood in the middle of the room he took a fighting stance. He started breathing very slowly. With another loud pop, another wooden ball was shot. This time it's target was Voltaire. As the ball closed in a some large, red electric shocks ran down from his shoulders into his fist and with a quick but hard punch he shattered the ball into allot of pieces. He breathed out slowly and walked back towards the bench. He looked at the woman with a smile and said :"Did i do ok?"
Tris was hoping Voltaire would like to try her game, and grinned when he stepped out onto the floor, ready to give it ago.
She watched in avid interest to see how he was handle this situation, intrigued at how red electric sparks type thing seemed to congregate round Voltaire's arm, then smash into the ball- which exploded into tiny pieces with a suitably loud sound.
She clapped heartily while he walked back to the bench.
He looked at the woman with a smile and said :"Did i do ok?
"OK- that was awesome." Tris complimented. "Guess I can't say I'm the only exploding powered one now huh, not that I wouldn't mind alittle competition" she winked again, before going on with; "......if you dont mind me asking, how does your power work, do you know?"
"Thanks, I try to do my best?" He said with a happy smile. He didn't think the game was to hard on him seeing as it was just a wooden ball. Even if it hit him it would splinter 5 cm away from him because of his powers.
"Guess I can't say I'm the only exploding powered one now huh, not that I wouldn't mind a little competition" she winked again, before going on with; "......if you don't mind me asking, how does your power work, do you know?"
"I have some idea's about what it is, but I'm not a hundred percent sure about it." he replied to the question. "Somehow i build up pure energy in my body that i can use to make blasts with but, when I'm building energy this red electricity surges over my body and that stuff can blow you up." he paused a few seconds before continuing. "Because of that i can't touch people without putting them in danger." "I have to concentrate and divert it away to some other bodypart if i wan't to do that, and until now i haven't been very good at that." Talking about how his powers affected his life made him a bit gloomy, almost sad you can say. He sat down on the bench and looked at the Woman. "Well that's my story, now what is yours?" He asked.
Hearing Voltaire's description of his powers was cool, but the vivid imagery of the limitations of his powers- no touching, and the constant concentration and desperation to not hurt anyone while your body was going nuts dredged up uncomfortable memories of Tris's childhood she would rather not remember.
When Voltaire asked her for her story, Tris shifted her feet for abit in indecision about how much to tell, before slumping down beside him on the bench, her tone trying for humor but not quite getting there, she began her exposition bit; "Basically I have an affinity with molecules, I can cause 'em to accurate and heat up a.k.a explode, or decelerate, meaning freeze...well, thats the theory from the science types who know anyways, can't work the freeze thing as much as I'd like but anyway...." she trailed off, taking a deep breath and looking down at her hands before continuing, her tone lacking expression but her pace and lack of focused sentences or breath showing her remembered frustration; "I learnt to channel my exploding thing through my hands.....eventually. When I was about 5ish I was really angry with my sister and brother cause they were teasing me, and suddenly the couch exploded- no one was serious hurt thank god, and no one could explain it, but I knew, I just knew it with me, and I couldn't tell my parents cause they'd think I was nuts or a freak or something...... I was so scared there was something wrong with me, and I couldn't tell anyone and I was so alone- it was like my body had gone all spazz or something, and I didn't wanna hurt anyone, and I was so afraid of the power is my hands. I wouldn't let myself touch anyone either, no hugs from mum, no clappie games with the other kids, but I'd rather be called the werido then be a murderer, cause I could hurt people, scare them, kill them- I was dangerous....... Eventually I figured out that I didn't have a wacky pair of magic hands that did random destruction- hey I was little alright.... but my powers had an emotional connection with anger, so I could touch stuff and people again but even then I couldn't get too close, too high with emotion, too angry or too scared, and I had to concentrate all the blasted time on keeping calm so not to blow my family and friends into piles of ash....and I was so frustrated and angry about that and that just ment I had to work harder..... As time went on I learned to keep my head down, to focus, to control my gift as adequately as I could- its probably a miracle I haven't blown anybody up yet, what with my temper..... But then Hunter's people found me and brought me here, and its so great- the goal here is to develop any and all aspects of your power as far as you want, no boundaries, no stupid limits to keep you back, and no hiding and lieing to people who could be friends day after day....... they have state of the art equipment and science people to help you and you can go all out without having to worry that the neighbors are gonna hear you, or you wont get your bond back...and there are other mutants around, and atleast they are more likely to have a tiny idea of what your going through."
Tris turned her head to look Voltaire in the eye, her vulnerable yet hopeful expression hardening to a steely gaze- half horrified at the amount of information she'd told a near stranger; "Now I told you all this cause you're a mutant who explodes stuff too, and types like us should stick together and help each other out.......but if the information I just gave you goes beyond us.....I will be most upset.... and you wouldn't like me when I'm upset....Is there an understanding between us?"
As the woman continued with here life story about her powers, Voltaire was amazed by it. "She had a even tougher childhood then me." He thought. After she finished her story about her childhood and powers he said:"Well my childhood wasn't easy too." "I lost my mother and i got bullied all the time for it." "Even though i trained in martial arts my master always said i should not hit them."
Now I told you all this cause you're a mutant who explodes stuff too, and types like us should stick together and help each other out.......but if the information I just gave you goes beyond us.....I will be most upset.... and you wouldn't like me when I'm upset....Is there an understanding between us?"
He nodded to that question. "Sure, i would shake hands with you if i could and i wasn't scared of you freezing me or anything." He said with a smile. "We have ourselves a agreement."
"Now about that competition, what did you have in mind?"
He nodded to that question. "Sure, i would shake hands with you if i could and i wasn't scared of you freezing me or anything." He said with a smile. "We have ourselves a agreement."
Tris smiled back, satisfied for the moment he would not blab.
"Now about that competition, what did you have in mind?"
This time she grinned; "I dunno, I been here awhile, I dont think you could go up against me just yet.....How about we do a double team type thing against something the tech guys can dream up?" she winked, sounding more than alittle arrogant, seeming to imply he couldn't hope to match her . The funny thing was she didn't actually mean to sound this way, only meant he was kinda new to the place and it might maybe be fun to have double the destruction and explosive potential.....fun times.
"I dunno, I been here awhile, I dont think you could go up against me just yet.....How about we do a double team type thing against something the tech guys can dream up?"
"sounds good to me" he replied. "A good way to show you what i can do" he said with a smile. Voltaire walked towards the console to call a tech engineer. He punched a few buttons and within a few minutes a tech engineer came walking into the room. "What can i help you with"He said. Voltaire turned towards the engineer and said: "We need a game that can handle some destruction.".
Voltaire turned to his new training partner and said: "Do you know a game by any chance?"
Tris was glad Voltaire didn't seem to take offense to her words, rather taking them like she'd ment- a good way to see what he could do. He agreed easily, seemingly eager to train some more- well, Tris guessed she did kinda interrupt his session.
When Voltaire called out the the technician "We need a game that can handle some destruction."
Tris flashed a wide grin at him- now that attitude she could concur with.
Voltaire turned to his new training partner and said: "Do you know a game by any chance?
"Ummmm." Tris leaned her head slightly to the side, a considering expression on her face. "Well, theres the standing still games- kinda like a shooting gallery style of thing, works on your aim and concentration skills......theres the 'run the gauntlet' style games, where things are hurling at you all round and you gotta try to dodge and avoid and blast stuff to not end up an all over bruise.....and theres like full on obstacle courses and stuff.....and if theres something not listed here you particular want, I'm sure something could be tailored to you."
she paused to see if she'd forget anything, realizing in fact she'd forgotten to venture an opinion. "....So, I'm not really in the mood for deciding, and besides, you should have first pick anyway- what you in the mood for?"
"I'll pick run the gauntlet then, I'm up for a though exercise" He said to the Technician.
"Very well" Replied the technician and he punched in some buttons on his pad. With some loud noices, several balls poped up in the room bouncing on the walls. Voltaire took a fighting stance in the middle of the room. He dodged the first few balls before he started to use some offensive actions. He punched one of the balls, blowing them to splinters on impact. "To easy" He said to the technician and to Tris. "Put some more targets in so she has something to do." He said to the technician with a grin. As he said that a ball came from behind and he quickly kicked that one to splinters. The technician was suprised by what he asked but did what he asked. He punched in some more buttons on his pad and more balls quickly appeared.
