The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I'll pick run the gauntlet then, I'm up for a though exercise" He said to the Technician.
Tris said nothing, only smiled- good choice, was what she enthusiastically thought inwardly. The floor and walls rumbling into position as the tech guy made some adjustments to the rooms settings.
Standing off to the side, Tris watched as Voltaire stepped up to the mark and began the exercise. His practice session earlier had served him well as he quickly got into the training scenario- dodging, and blocking and finally splintering the balls into fragmenting pieces.
"To easy" He said to the technician and to Tris.
She laughed at the young mans comments that this was too easy, that he wanted more a challenge- she could sooo relate to that, adn Laughed harder still when he dobbed her in to the tech dude to effectively put her in the firing line too.
"Care to join me?" He said to Tris
Giving a good impression of a devilish grin, and a great impression of a southern accent, Tris stepped forward saying; "Why sir, I thought you'd never ask." as if he'd just asked her to dance.
She stepped gracefully out into the whirling paths of the balls, dodging some and ducking many with the easy of long months of practice. She aimed at the balls with her hands, turning as she went so she could see more, blasting the high velocity projectiles into nothingness, almost looking like she was indeed dancing to a song no one else could hear.
Tris joined in on the action of the game. Voltaire was amazed that she actually took his invitation to join in the game even when the difficulty was higher then usual. He was even more amazed how she did. He found the dodging and fighting more like a dance. Her powers where very powerfull even for his standards.
He found that it wasn't a very good idea to be amazed for long because the game was definantly harder then before. A few of the balls he dodged with a bit of luck, just moving past him by inches. He blasted allot of his targets to splinters, but that didn't stop them from increasing there numbers. He dodged a ball that was about to hit his head by a inch and said: "By the way, My name is Malik.""They call me Voltaire, what is your name?" He said as he blew up a ball right in front of her.

Tris giggled, though the sound was almost lost under the noise of stuff blowing up; "Ya mean, we've been talking and training all this time and yet haven't been officially introduced, how rude of me." she called out, humor in her tone. "You can call me Tris, I'm abit of a blast and a half- or so say some people. Its great ta officially meet you Voltaire....or Malik....which do you prefer?"
Unfortunately this little conversational incident took a split second of Tris's much needed attention to the surrounding area. This ment she didn't see one of the balls flying at her til it was to late. Oh Shit! was the thought running through her mind as she tired to dodge and deflect the thing, but it was flying too low and fast for her to get completely clear- it grazed along the side of her lower thigh, not harming clothes, but crushing the skin and breaking blood vessels beneath it. Tris yelped and cursed, loudly- it frelling hurt, and there would defiantly be a big bruise there in the morning.
"You can call me Tris, I'm abit of a blast and a half- or so say some people. Its great ta officially meet you Voltaire....or Malik....which do you prefer?"
"Well, most people call me Voltaire, but i don't mind being called Malik either."He said. He focused more on training then talking from now on. The more balls he destroyed, the more confident he got about the training. He started training some of the more advanced fighting moves like spinning kicks and overhead punches. Tris yelped and cursed, loudly- it frelling hurt, and there would defiantly be a big bruise there in the morning.
He looked at her being hit by one of the balls. He didn't have enough time to react and help her. "Stop the game."He yelled. Little did he know that the room was also voice-activated in these situations. The game went into a immediat stop and all the balls just dropped out of the sky.
Tris, swearing like a sailor of the old high seas, tried to keep going, cause she knew if she stopped now, she might end up unconscious or worse. She tried to use her powers one handed, twisting around on a leg whos pain receptors were letting her alot about pain- all in all, bad idea.
She gratefully slumped to the floor as Voltaire called for the program to stop.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
Tris looked up at him with a disgruntled expression; "My leg will recover, but I doubt my pride will." she said dryly.
Tris looked up at him with a disgruntled expression; "My leg will recover, but I doubt my pride will." she said dryly.
Voltaire looked at her leg to look how severe the wound is. It looked not too severe, but walking could be a problem. Voltaire walked a bit back and red electricity began to emerge from his legs. His eyes turned from green to red and he had a concentrating look on his face. He walked towards tris again and said: "I'm going to try and move you to the bench and get some help after that." "Don't worry." He continued. "I'm focusing my powers to my legs, it won't hurt you but i can't keep it up for too long." He said with a helping smile.
Tris tried to brush off the force of the knock she got, and the assessing look Voltaire gave her. "I'm fine, I'm fine." she insisted, half getting up into a crouch, then trying to put more weight on her affected leg. This didn't work, evidence by the pain that shot up from her thigh, trying to draw a squeal from her lips, but she quelled the urge for the most part, so all that came out was a muffled squeak.
When her attention finally turned back to Voltaire, she was astonished to find him sparking with red electricity type stuff, he's eyes red as well. "I see the coolest stuff in this place." she muttered before he began to speak."
"I'm going to try and move you to the bench and get some help after that." "Don't worry." He continued. "I'm focusing my powers to my legs, it won't hurt you but i can't keep it up for too long." He said with a helping smile.
Tris smiled back, otherwise she'd have to craw to the darn bench. "Well alright." she muttered grudgingly as she reached out to grab an arm, hauling herself up and leaning on his shoulder to get to the bench. "As long as you dont tell anyone what a complete dope I was to let my guard down and get hit in a game I've played like a million times.......and as long as this isn't hurting you......contact I mean, with your power- it isn't is it?" she finished, sounding worried on that last part.

"Don't worry about me , i can take it." He replied on her question as he moved her to the bench. He put her down on the bench and he turned around and kicked a ball that was lying around in the middle of the room. The ball exploded on impact and the electric aura disappeared around Voltaire's leg. "Sorry" He said. "I had to get it out of my system one way or the other." He walked towards his bag. He sat down and searched trough his bag until he found what he was looking for. He tossed Tris a roll of bandage. "Here, use it on your leg." He said as he tossed it. "Are you going to be ok, or do i need somebody from the medical bay?" he asked.

Being bored from wandering the seemingly endless network of hallways that made up the facility Ali decided to do something that would hopefully be a bit more fun. She had remembered seeing the training rooms when she had had a brief meeting with Sapphire, and the thought of doing more than sitting or walking sounded great at the moment.
Upon reaching the training rooms she found one was active and walked in. She didn't hear any explosions or other noises that would indicate something going on. There weren't any flashes of lasers or muzzle fire. No, instead she saw a girl she remembered spotting in the initial meeting and a male that she hadn't seen before. He seemed to be tending to her leg.
The tall redhaired woman walked up to the pair with a friendly smile. "That must've been some rough training." She directed herself to Tris. "Are you going to be ok?"
Tris settled easily and gratefully onto the bench, twisting her leg this way and that now the weight was off it to see what was what before hearing an explosion and then seeing the red energy around Voltaire's leg wink out of existence.
"Sorry" He said. "I had to get it out of my system one way or the other."
"Dont be sorry." she replied in a gently teasing way; "I like fireworks."
Yet the only reply Tris got to her vaguely funny quip was a roll of bandage tossed at her- which all in all was a fair and just deal.
"Thanks." she said graciously as she caught the roll of material.
"Here, use it on your leg." He said as he tossed it. "Are you going to be ok, or do i need somebody from the medical bay?" he asked.
"Nar, I'm good." she said, politely refusing medical help. Tris was already wrapping her wounded thigh securely in the bandage, keeping and even tension as she went around and around till the material finished, then fixing it there with a clip. "This bandage and maybe an ice pack later us all I might need......Dont be worried for my sake, just smarts like hell right now is all.....Go back to training, doesn't mean you have to slow down your session."
It was at this point someone else entered the room- RavenFire, one of the people from the X-men school the Tris had always wanted to talk to abit more, yet never got around too.....
The tall redhaired woman walked up to the pair with a friendly smile. "That must've been some rough training." She directed herself to Tris. "Are you going to be ok?"
however she didn't particularly want to talk to her like this, shown up by a stupid wooden ball- hello embarrassing party of one. Still, she managed a cringed worthy smile; "Yeah, I'm good thanks. Just a stupid wooden ball that got the bettter of me today.....I'll get him though, noone leaves a bruise on me the size thei one feels like beings and gets away with it." she said jokingly, defecting her embarrassment with humor.
"This bandage and maybe an ice pack later us all I might need......Dont be worried for my sake, just smarts like hell right now is all.....Go back to training, doesn't mean you have to slow down your session."
"No thanks" He replied to the question Tris gave him. "It has been slow since the day i got here, first time in ages i had some relaxation time." he continued. He sat down and leaned his head backwards against the wall. he took the towel from his bag and put it on his face. Suddenly he heard a voice. He leaned his head over forward so the towel fell of and he could see who it was. It was a redhaired woman he hadn't met before.
The tall redhaired woman walked up to the pair with a friendly smile. "That must've been some rough training." She directed herself to Tris. "Are you going to be ok?"
"Yes, it was a rather harsh training." He said. He took his waterbottle again and took a drink. " believe we haven't met before."He said looking at the the (to him) unknown woman. "My name is Malik, people call me Voltaire" He said. "Don't expect me to shake your hand, it wouln't be pretty." He said with a faint smile of sarcasm.

Listening to the girl talk about her vow of vengence on a wooden ball made Ali smile and almost giggle. Just something about how the girl refered to the ball as a living thing that intended to hurt her made it sound somewhat cute. Then the man named Malik spoke up, though he'd rather be called Voltaire she noted. Ali also noted his suggestion not to shake his hand to which she didn't make an attempt.
"Well, it's good that you're going to be ok then. My name is Ali but i also go by Raven Fire."
She looks at the two for a moment.
"Mind if I play along with you guys or are you done here?"
"Well, it's good that you're going to be ok then. My name is Ali but i also go by Raven Fire."
"Nice to meet you, Ali." Voltaire replied with a smile. "I think i can guess what you can do from your name, could it be creating or manipulating fire ? " He asked trying to find out her powers.
"Mind if I play along with you guys or are you done here?"
"I don't mind at all, just give me a few minutes to catch my breath." Voltare replied as he picked up a towel from his bag and wiped the sweat of his face. He used some of his water to splash it in his face and then dry himself up to make him feel refreshed. "So what kind of game do you have in mind? " He asked trying to figure out what she wanted to do as training.

Smiling. "Yes I'm a fire elemental. I can create it and manipulate both the flame and heat. What about you two? What can you do?"
When time alloted Ali spoke again.
"So, what sort of training were you guys doing before I arrived? I don't really have anything specific in mind. Just want to stretch out as it were." She looked at the pair as she waited for a response.
The girl introduced herself as Ali or Raven Fire, and Tris waves at her in greeting, but let Voltaire handle the introductions for asecond as she practically skulled half her water bottle after taking a light pain killer she'd found from a rumage of the small first aid kit strapped to the wall near her.
Returning her attention to the conversation, she heard Ali's later replies: ~"Yes I'm a fire elemental. I can create it and manipulate both the flame and heat. What about you two? What can you do?"~
"Nice." Tris said smilingly, "that power sounds awsome.....must have come in handy a time or two I'll bet." she winked at that, before going on with; "For, ya know, BBQing, drying your nail quick, that sort of thing." she mentioned innocently even though they all knew she ment that in more ways than she'd said. "As for us, we're part of the ever increasing 'I can blow stuff up club'." Tris said in her usual jokey way, looking at Malik and handing over the conversation to him to explain his gifts in more detail as she'd given the overview.
~"So, what sort of training were you guys doing before I arrived? I don't really have anything specific in mind. Just want to stretch out as it were." She looked at the pair as she waited for a response.~
"We were pretty much playing dodge ball." Tris said laughing, "Though abit more dodging might have helped me alittle more." she continued on ruely as she grimaced while touching the first signs of the wonderful bruise she'd have by tomorrow. "You sure you dont have a preference? Cause we can just continue and you can take my place and I'll just do some target practice from the bench if you like......but if you got another idea, I'm all ears....whatever it is, I'm game."
