The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hunter had a plan in mind for Shogun’s belongings still in Japan. “I will have everything you own in Japan brought over, including your house and your horse,” he said, wondering what the Samurai would make of it, “Also I have some gifts for you.”
Going over to the wall he tapped on a console and the wall slid away to reveal a suit of golden Samurai armour complete with a full face mask. While Shogun would not see the colour, others would. “This is a new suit of armour for you,” he said, “it offer’s you far better protection than the suit you are wearing now. If you don the armour I will demonstrate.”

Good. Everything would get brought over. But how were they going to bring his house? Oh well, he'd find out when it gets here. In the meantime, Hunter had something to show him. Gifts, apparently. Hunter tapped something on the wall, and it slid back to reveal a full set of samurai armour, including his signiture mask design. He could tell that as good as his current armour was, this had been made out of much better quality materials. And the workmanship was incredible. "Where would you get such a thing?"
Shogun pick up the armour carefully, and stepped into the changing room. A short time later, he was out again. Now he was covered from head to foot in his splendid gold armour. It was lighter than his as well, so he could move much more easily. Wow.
While Shogun had gone to change into the new armour Hunter had removed his, leaving him standing in the blood red velvet outfit that he had worn underneath it. He couldn’t be wearing metal for this following test.
When Shogun stepped back out Hunter knew that the armour was a good choice. Shogun looked both regal and intimidating at the same time. Coming over to the Samurai Hunter tugged on the gauntlets and tapped on a symbol etched on the inside of each wrist. He made the move look like he was simply making sure the armour was on.
“It’s a good fit,” he commented as he stepped back to the wall. Tapping another button a selection of fire arms appeared. Hunter had never used a gun before, considering them to lack the elegance that more traditional weapons offered. However, for this test a gun would be must appropriate. “I assume you know what a gun is,” said Hunter as he held up a hand gun.

Shogun flinched slightly as Hunter checked to see if the gauntlets were on properly. Being this close to the shroud caused him to miss what Hunter was actually doing. Then a selection of guns appeared. And Hunter pointed one of them at Shogun. "Of course I know what a gun is. What are you doing?" Hunter wouldn't outfit him in the new armour, only to then shoot him to death. Something was going on.
Rather than answer Hunter pulled the trigger. The bullet flew from the barrel of the weapon straight towards Shogun’s chest, only to stop an inch short of its target and fall to the ground. What Hunter had been doing when he touched the symbols on the inside of the gauntlet’s wrists was activating a magnetic repulsion field around it.
While the armour was strong and durable, the field made him impervious to metal weapons. Hunter returned the weapon to the rack and closed the panel while waiting for Shogun to respond.

Shogun saw Hunter's finger pull the trigger, but he knew that he had no hope of didging a bullet. Surprisingly, the bullet never reached him. He had instinctively been sending out multiple pulses, so he could watch the bullet's motion, and saw it stop a few inches from his chest, before falling to the ground. "How did you do that? Why didn't that hit me?" How could armour stop something without even touching it?
“Your armour has a field around it that repels metal,” Hunter explained, wondering how much of modern science Shogun knew, “So you cannot be hit by a metal weapon. Unfortunately it also means you cannot wield a metal weapon. I activated the field by touching the engraved symbols on the inside of your wrists, touch them again to deactivate it.”
“To fight with the field you will need a new weapon. This is it,” he said as he held up what looked like a four foot long plastic rod. He began to twirl the rod about and suddenly lunged forward as a four foot blade shot forth from the end. Continuing to while the blade another emerged from the other end, giving him a double ended weapon. Finally with a slight twist the weapon separated into two swords. After twirling the swords briefly he reattached them and retracted the blades before tossing the unusual weapon to Shogun.
“The weapon is entirely plastic,” he explained, “but it’s as sharp and durable as steel. The buttons on the hilt extend the blades and twist the hilt to separate them.” Hunter wondered what the Samurai would make of the strange weapon.

Shogun wondered how the armour stops metals, and assumed it had something to do with magnets. He wasn't really big on science. As Shogun deactivated it experimentally, Hunter mentioned that he wouldn't be able to use his own weapons. But shogun had been wearing his knife. He assumed that this 'field' must only work one-way. He didn't realise that the field was a couple inches away from him, and only affects metals that come into direct contact with it.
Hunter then drew what appeared to be a short staff. Shogun sent out continual pulses, and Hunter spun it around, and then a blade shot out of the end. Then another one slid out the other end, and then he separated t into two swords. Shogun marvelled at its design, he didn't realise such weapons could be made. And for it to be made of plastic...
Shogun caught the hilt as it was tossed to him, and experimented with the button at one end. The blade whooshed out with barely a sound. Shogun pressed the button at the other end, and another blade slid out. He twisted it, separating the blades, and swung them experimentally. He marvelled at how light they were, and he was able to move them much faster than his own katanas. He pressed the button under his gauntlet, and turned on the field. The blade wasn't repelled. It truly had no metal in it. "Why would you give me these things?" Shogun struggled to understand why Hunter would supply him with such magestic equipment.
“You fight for me,” Hunter explained, “My soldiers only get the best equipment. There is no point in sending a highly trained individual into battle if the weapons and armour that they are utilising are poor quality.”
“Unless there is anything else Sergeant Crawford here will escort you to your room,” said Hunter indicating the man standing by the door. With Shogun equipped he had other tings to see to, like a certain bill that had recently been passed.

Shogun nodded. It made sense, if you want your soldiers to fight well, you equip them well. But who would Hunter have him fight? It didn't matter. He'd fight who he was told to fight, that's what samurai do. "No, that will be all." He followed the sergeant out, and was lead to his room.
His room was sparse, which he liked, but it was all metal. Without turning to the sergeant, he asked for some straw mats to be brought in and laid down, and the sergeant nodded and left. Shogun stepped in, and found that his luggage had already been brought in. There were also weapon racks already on the wall, so Shogun could hang up most of his weapons.
