The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kaz looked at Syn with a sly smile. "You already know what I'm going to do huh." Looking back at Dorian. "I'll be on the frontline team. Though any info on defences you can give me would be helpful."
((Terribly sorry about my absence, been busy with midterms that are starting this week. Hopefully I'll be more active once they're over.))
Isabel had taken a seat near to Syn and Kaz when Mr. King had summoned all of the mutants into the War Room. She listened with silent interest to all Mr. King had to say, pleased that she was finally out of the dark about what was going on in the Sanctuary. "I volunteer to join the front line team as well." she said, already feeling excited about the upcoming abduction. In the front line team, she'd really be able to cause some trouble.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
"Alright, we'll have to start filling up the follow up team now, because we have enough of you on the front line. Don't think that being follow up is a menial task... it is you who the rest of us are relying on to intercept any attacks from the rear, which when we break into the facility is very likely to happen."
Dorian noticed that Eris and Thorn were no longer in the room. He would have to have a word with Eris later so he could find out what she was planning on doing.
((Since the recent 'baddie pm' I suppose I should get my but in here, even if Thorn hasn't officially taken me to the Sanctuary yet, eh?))
Overcast opened the door and stepped lightly into the room, not seeming to mind that she was late. She clicked the door shut and strode purposefully over to an empty seat, on the other side of some others who she could only assume were mutants like herself. The man in charge (whom she had not been formally introduced to as of yet, but she was able to figure out that he was the one conducting this meeting) gave her an appraising look, clearly wanting to know why she was late and/or interrupting the proceedings.
"When Thorn said it was a burgundy door, hard to miss, I never stopped to think that I wouldn't be able to figure out which door was burgundy," she said in a cool and unapologetic tone. It was a lame excuse, she knew she was colorblind, and she knew the moment Thorn told her it was a burgundy door that she wouldn't be able to find it quickly, she had used the excuse to allow her some poking-around time, as well as to get through the drawl of pre-meeting questionaires. However, it had taken her a wee bit longer to find the place than she'd anticipated, this place was much larger than she'd thought.
She waited, no one knew who she was but Thorn, so she would probably have to give an introduction at some time or other, but, not wanting to slow anything down (seeing as she had brought things to an abrupt halt by her entry), she decided that an introduction would happen when it was requested.
While Syn was listening to some of the other mutants discussing what part of the plan they wanted to be in she noticed a girl who dressed in black. She seemed to have a similar taste of clothing as Syn and that made her smile. She could be fun to get to know. Maybe they could go cause some trouble sometime. Then she noticed Thorn and that dreadful Eris had dismissed themselves from the room. Syn quickly looked to Mr. King to see if he had noticed that same fact. When she looked at his face she could see he had a bit of an annoyed look. Someone's gonna get an ear full and I bet I know who she said to herself with a sly smirk.
Then her attention was yanked like a dog on a leash as a very familiar voice was heard in the room. Spinning around in her chair Syn scanned the room. Her bright green eyes looking over everyone until they caught a large red man in the back of the room. He looked like he had eaten a cow for breakfast. Not that he looked fat but he was very built and looked as if he could literally walk through walls. When she focused on his face a spark ignited in her mind. This man was her big brother, but she didn't recall him having a scar on his face. She had to be sure though and since she wasn't intimidated by many things she got right up and walked over to the newcomer.
She stood right in front of the big red man and spoke up. "Have you seen sis lately?" She left the question to sink in for a second to see if he knew what she was talking about, but she couldn't help herself and continued with antother question. "What happened to you? Why did you leave?"

Kaz was a bit surprised when six large red men stepped out of the air, all identical to a seventh that stook accross the room. <Neat trick. If nothing else it's flashy and distracting.> As he continued to watch the man out of curriosity, he saw Syn walk up to him in a very familiar manner. Kaz raised an eyebrow and nearly went wide eyed when she asked if he'd seen sis. <That deamon gangster is related to her?!> In his mind he saw himself falling over like they do in those animes. Another thought hit him as soon as it prossessed through his brain, <She has a sister?>
He continued to watch as the large man picked her up like she was nothing, he nodded inwardly with respect and a slight smile. He'd never seen this guy before and figured he'd go say hi. Walking calmly over to Syn and the large man, "Interesting trick there. Name's Kaz." He held out his hand to the man and gave him a 'firm' handshake.

Kaine heard the Dorians booming voice over the intercom it had taken him some time to make it here. Kaines war his combats and paratropper boots with a white T shirt which was covered in oil his shoulder was still bandaged Kaine walked to dorien and said "Whats The mission? where? And whats my part in it and just to let you know as i never told you my power is to manipulate shadow"
Overcast raised an eyebrow at the forwardness of this new man's entry. The entire situation was rather interesting, but it would seem as though she was accepted into the swing of things, either that or no one had noticed her with everything else that was going on.
She took leave of her conservativeness and set herself down casually, leaning back in her chair and propping her left ankle up above her right knee, nearly relaxed. She knew she couldn't ever fully relax, she always had to be on her guard, but this was relaxed enough for her right now, and she decided she might as well enjoy herself for the time being.
"Well Kaine, in summary our mission is to abduct a mutant named Jack. Her power makes other mutant's abilities to go haywire when they come into close contact with her."
Looking Kaine up and down, Dorian became curious as to the extent of this mutant's power,
"Shadow manipulation. Hmmm. If I recall correctly, you can actually travel through shadows?."
Dorian paused and thought for a moment.
"When the time comes, would it be possible for you to go ahead of the main group and be a scout for us? If you can, I believe you'd be best suited to the front line. Although the group is technically full, we need to make the most of every mutant's power."
Dorian looked around, trying to see if everyone had joined a group. He wondered where the boy-lizard had gone, he hadn't seen im for a while and thought that he would be an asset in the back line.
Overcast wasn't entirely sure if she liked being completely overlooked. The man in charge had finally chosen to speak, and he had spoken to that grimey man, who reeked of oil, while he had only glanced over her.
"I can make shadows," she piped up. "Perhaps I could help. I can manipulate all light, actually."
Isabel turned her head as the large red mutant in the back announced his presence. She gave a small smirk as his six replicas disappeared once again. This guy would definitely make a useful addition in Mr. King's plans. She made no move to follow Syn or Kaz as they got up to greet the mobster look-alike. Syn seemed to already know the man so she figured she'd bump into him at some other time. Propping one knee up against the large circular table and crossing her arms, Isabel leaned back in her chair, waiting for any further instruction.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Overcast nodded, although the man in charge hadn't said 'yea' or 'nay' to her proposal yet, others seemed to think it was a fine idea. She was watching the 'shadow-man', as she dubbed him in her mind, trying to see if he had any reaction to this.
"Some sort of armour would be nice," she said, agreeing with the big red, "I'm not carrying around a huge necessity for weapons though, myself. But a little something extra might be nice."
"Well, I think you'll be a great addition to the group Abyss", she said with a smile to her older brother. She then turned to the others as Mr. King was asking the newest female about her powers. Manipulate light huh? That's pretty impressive. She might be fun to have around she thought. "You don't need any props dear brother. You're a wrecking crew all by yourself."
Overcast was slipping into old habits of getting things done as fast as possible, rushing into things head-on and empty-headed. The slow-moving meeting was working on her nerves, and she was really wanting to get going. "I agree," Overcast said, uncrossing her legs and leaning forward. "When's this thing goin' down?"
((OOC: OMG GUYS! I am soooooo sorry! Things have been hectic for me in the past few weeks, I broke up with my gf, I had to make the move back to university, and ive been working... again, I'm so sorry!))
Oppressor found that this meeting had become stagnant and decided that there were more than likely not going to be any more mutants to come forward. Hearing Abyss and Overcast's understandably impatient tones, Dorian decided that the time had finally come.
"Mutants, we are to embark on our mission TONIGHT! We are now all going to make our way to our transportation, which is in the vehicle bay."
Leading the mutants out of the War Room, Dorian ushered his small army into the elevator and headed for the vehicle bay. Arriving in the lowest level of The Sanctuary, the group was greeted by two large black vehicles never seen by any one in the assembly before.
"These, young mutants, are multi terrain stealth trucks, designed to be unseen in the night by radar or the naked eye. They are bullet-proof, flame-proof and to a certain extent, explosion-proof. We are to enter each truck in our designated groups, and we shall all rendezvous at the location in arount 45 minutes. Upon entering, scanners took your measurements, and each of you has been provied with a lightweight, versatile body armour."
In each locker was two sets of body armour and a harness, for attaching grenades and other tools an individual may need to undertake a mission. The armour itself was made from a new, flexible form of kevlar which was reinforced to be able to take the most powerful bullets, while at the same time providing the flexibility to be completly mobile with absolutely no awkwardness in an individuals movement.
"There are crates beside the lockers containing high powered assault rifles with an interchangeable scope. The gun's user could switch between normal, night vision and infrared at the flick of a switch. There are several different kinds of ammunition these rifles can fire, but for this mission I reccommend we just use bullets. The only prisoner we are taking is Jack herself, we don't need ANY witnesses. These rifles are more advanced than anything the army or nsa have in their arsenals. There are also hand guns, using the same principals as the rifles, though you need not take either if you wish. There are also an array of different forms of explosives from your standard grenade to your c4 plastic explosive, though I doubt c4 will be needed looking at some of the mutants on our team." The last remark was followed by chuckles from the congregation.
"Question time has ended people, from here on in we are focused on our assigned roles. You have 5 minutes to suit up, then we're out of here."
