The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It seems the mansion was a bit of a touchy subject. Kaz made a note not to mention or make a big deal of it again. Putting his hands flat on the ledge of the pool he pushed himself up with ease and a nice smooth motion. When he stood on the rooftop again, he gave a thought about drying himself off, but then shrugged. "Well, don't push yourself love. It'll happen in time." He moved over to her, taking his plate in his hand, he kissed her. Grabbing the steak sauce, potato and some butter, he walked over to the chairs. It finally registered that she said she learned of what happened at KP from someone who LIVES at the mansion. Guilt filled him as he looked away from Nicki. <That's got to be hard....and awkward.> He thought to himself. "Thanks babe." He said with a smile on his face referring to the food. <I'm sorry.>

Nicki looked over at Kaz. "Kaz, come on, we're having fun. Don't get all guilt ridden right now okay? I lock in on it and I feel bad cause you feel bad and I hate when you feel bad. I'm fine. It'll be weird, but it's not any weirder than when you were in the Order. It just means I can't keep pictures of you in my room or do any normal teenage boyfriend/girlfriend stuff but that stuff was kind out of the picture anyway" Nicki laughed as she started cutting her steak. "I mean, my boyfriend morphs into a terrifying, but cool looking, creature of the night. And I'd be bringing you home to meet the teachers who could take down the world if they were bored on a rainy day" Nicki laughed, shaking her head.

Kaz looked at Nicki and nodded. He couldn't help but laugh at her comment about pictures. "I take horrible pictures, so that wouldn't be a problem anyway." He stabbed his fork into the steak and dipped it into the steak sauce before taking a big bite out of it just for the hell of it. His mouth was full as he spoke. " 'Ut do you, 'ean," He swallowed the hunk of meat, "Normal teenage stuff?" What she said next about his transformation put a big smirk on his face. "Hmm...Terrifying Creature of the Night. I like the sound of that." He chuckled. His mind went back to the fight between the Order and the Xmen when Nicki talked about her teachers being able to take down the world if they were bored. Kaz wasn't so sure about that, but he had only met a few from the mansion. <Now that Xavier guy...maybe.> He chuckled at the thought of the man. "What kind of normal boyfriend/girlfriend stuff were you thinking of?" Kaz was truly curious, as this was sort of like his second true relationship, and him being a loner most of the time didn't know the 'normal' routines of couples.

"I don't know" Nicki shrugged, looking over at Kaz a little, thinking as she popped the steak into her mouth. She chewed and swallowed before nodding. "You know...normal stuff. Stuff that boyfriends and girlfriends do. Meet each others friends and family and go to each others..." Nicki stopped herself as something finally settled into her mind.
"What fight with the Order and the X-men?" she asked. "I thought you said the X-Men didn't know the Order exsisted..."

Kaz thought about meeting Nicki's family, it sounded...interesting and nice, at least the thought did, until he remembered her saying her brother and father were anti-mutant. She had never mentioned their names...not even her mother's name before. That seemed odd to him, but dismissed it as nothing. He didn't know if it would be good to meet those two, though he probably would enjoy meeting her mother. From what she said about her, he could probably stand her, and even have a good chance of liking her. He almost felt bad for not having family to even think to introduce Nicki to. "Your mom, that'd be cool." He stopped that sentence flat leaving the rest for her to infer. "I, don't have family that I'd be able to introduce you to. And my friends....you've met them. I guess if you can call them friends."
He cut his steak and began to chew it when she asked about the fight. Sighing after he swallowed. "Well, it seems they had gotten a spy inside the Sanctuary and then into KP and found out about the mutants being held there." Taking another cut piece of steak and putting it into his mouth, "And in all their high and mighty-ness, they came and thought they had the right to tell us what to do. Like some god given power gave them the job of policing all Mutants. And if it isn't the Xmen's way, then it's not allowed to happen." Chewing semi-fast, Kaz quickly swallowed. "They said they wanted to talk, but more than half of them kept asking for a fight, and I don't just mean glares, I mean literally asking Tricity if they could attack yet." Taking a few swigs of his rootbeer Kaz continued. Why not? She'd get it from him later anyways. "They didn't come to talk, they came to fight. So like them to play that game. They were really trying to get their spy into KP again. The Xmen are really trustworthy. Well, to put it simply. We had an all out brawl." Throughout his entire story, not once was Kaz talking in a superior or snide tone. He didn't try to glorify what the Order did, or make the Xmen seem worse than how they had been. He spoke in an unbiased way, well mostly, there was a comment here and there. In all, it was the truth. In their own way, the Xmen were just as bad as the Order, if not worse, because they didn't realize it, and if they did, the refused to believe or accept it. His overall tone was one of complete calm.

Nicki thought about everything for a moment. She listened to Kaz explain everything, all of the fight and all of the parts beyond that. She could see Tricity clearly though his words, could see the fight unravelling before her eyes. She sighed, looking down to her food and then shaking her head.

Kaz watched Nicki throughout his story. Her expression didn't change much. She deffinantly didn't seem surprised. Kaz set his plate down and took a sip of his drink before he leaned over. Placing a hand on Nicki's leg. "Don't worry about it okay. It doesn't really matter anyway." Rubbing her leg gently. "Is there anything I can do for you? Anything?" <Maybe go visit your mom or fly her up here...> Kaz thought to himself. He wanted to do something nice for Nicki.

Nicki laughed a little as Kaz rubbed her leg lightly. "Why do you insist on thinking things when you know I can hear them?" she asked. "My mom would never accept a flight out here. First, she'd see it as charity and second, while she doesn't mind mutants, she's still kind of uncomfortable with it..." she shrugged. "And if we went to Dayton we'd have to see my dad and my brother and that wouldn't do you any good honey..." Nicki laughed, biting into the steak again.

Kaz opened his mouth to talk but didn't say anything. His mouth hung open for a few seconds before he snapped it shut. "Well damn. Can't blame a guy for trying to cheer his girlfriend up can ya." He gave her a playful wink. "It's not like I can stop it. Just thoughts and ideas poppin into my head."

"It's appreciated. Thanks though honey" she smiled, looking over and biting into the potatoe. "There was this one time, when I was 11, my mom sat me down and told me she was gonna start helping me act like a lady, because it was kinda a deal back home to be a bit more feminine than I was. My mom had bought me this really fancy dress to wear to my friend's party that weekend. She put me in little gloves and fancy shoes and...dude...it was so silly" Nicki laughed. "When I came home, I was dirty, ripped, and a bit bloody. I had a fight with this guy at the party who called my friend a freak. I won, but this fancy little dress and the gloves and the shoes were just, destroyed. I was so worried coming home you know? I thought she was gonna be so mad at me cause I wrecked up the dress and I didn't behave like a lady. Instead, she laughed and took me to the kitchen. She started cleaning me up and asked how I beat him" Nicki laughed, looking down at her food. "She always accepted me for me, you know?"

A laugh came from Kaz as she told him her story. It was a good one. And he liked to hear more about her. "Now I gotta know how you did beat him! That's just too good." Kaz continued to listen to her tale, rubbing her thigh lightly. When she finished he looked at her with a smile on his face. "I'm glad she did. Otherwise she'd miss out on the beautiful, smart, loving and caring young woman sitting beside me."

"Oh it wasn't all that hard. I hit him in the stomach and the little pansy pulled my hair as he was going down. We kinda wrestled on the ground a bit and I got him in a head lock. He brought his hand back and got me in the mouth but I kept up the head lock until he squeaked out an apology. It is one of only three fights I've been in and it is by far my favorite" Nicki laughed.
"Aww, you're trying to win brownie points" Nicki laughed, leaning over and kissing Kaz's cheek.
