General Physical Capabilities: They are by no means an Olympian, but Logan has good endurance and athleticism compared to the average person. Given the nature of their job, it is really a necessity. They can run for long periods of time and lift about 170% of their body weight. However, they also have a poor sense of balance and can be considered clumsy.
Other features: There are several tattoos littering their body from their ankles to the back of their neck. Notable examples include a scene from Calvin and Hobbes, their cat Yuja, and a Sonny Angel. They also have a smattering of piercings across their ears.
Everyday clothing style: Logan's typical style is casual, often opting for comfort and utility. Think cargo pants, joggers, oversized t-shirts, hoodies, and sneakers. When dressing up is required, they often gravitate towards slacks, dress shirts, leather jackets, and turtlenecks.
Uniform: They have a go-to suit for when they must accompany their employer to formal events.
Character
Personality: When at work, Logan is more stoic and emotionally neutral. They avoid distractions at all costs and focus on protecting their client. On their off days, they can be playful, easygoing, and adventurous, seeking new experiences and opportunities. It takes a lot to rile them up personally (it's a different story if you're targeting their client). They are a bit of an ambivert, remaining reserved and introverted whilst clocked in and becoming more extroverted and friendly when clocked out.
Morality: In D&D terms, Logan would be considered neutral good or true neutral. They have a genuine desire to be helpful and just, but sometimes they must temper that desire with pragmatism. Especially considering their career, they have to focus on what their employer wants over all else.
Hobbies/ Interests: Opening figure blind boxes, trying new dessert spots, people watching, and posting pictures of their cat.
Job or part time job and description: Logan is a bodyguard for an up-and-coming mutant pop star.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Letting their employer get hurt, stepping on their cat by accident in the middle of the night, and running into someone who they forgot but clearly that person hasn't forgotten them.
Special talents: They are trained in weapon handling, defensive driving, and risk assessment as part of their job. They also have a black belt in taekwondo.
Mutations
Mutation description: Mechanical Kinetic Energy Absorption
Logan is able to absorb the kinetic energy from moving objects, including people, through physical contact. This gives them an enhanced durability against injury, although it does not by any means make them invincible. They are able to redirect the absorbed energy and utilize it in their own physical movements, perhaps enhancing the strength behind a punch or giving themself a boost when jumping into the air, for example. The amount of energy Logan absorbs is directly proportional to how much force was used to move the object (i.e. a kick in the shins from a toddler is going to contain far less energy than a kick in the shins from a professional soccer player). When tapping into the absorbed energy, Logan’s body emits a multicolored glow, akin to an oil slick.
Weaknesses and Limitations: As stated above, Logan's mutation is limited to mechanical kinetic energy solely via physical contact. Any other forms of kinetic energy, such as thermal or electrical, are not absorbable. An object must be in motion for them to absorb its energy. They cannot create or destroy energy, only store and expel it. The energy must come from an outside source, i.e. they cannot give themself energy (although that doesn't mean they cannot hurt themself).
There is a hard limit to how much kinetic energy they can store in their body. If they hit that limit, equivalent to the force of breaking a femur, their body will forcibly shed the excess energy in order to survive. This can lead to property damage and injury to themself and others, as they lose control of their mutation. And although they are more durable, they are by no means immune to pain.
History Of Your Character
Logan Ko was born in Incheon, South Korea, to an upper-middle class family. At the age of 5, they and their family immigrated to the United States, settling in New Jersey. A year later, their younger sister Lia was born. After adjusting to life in a brand new country, Logan enjoyed a fairly comfortable upbringing. Their parents were often busy working, but they still took time to show their children love and affection, and Logan wanted for nothing.
Unfortunately, at age 18, their circumstances changed drastically when their parents tragically passed in an auto accident. Freshly an adult with a much younger sibling to support, Logan suddenly found themself with more responsibilities than they'd ever had before. Graciously, the taekwondo school they had attended throughout their life hired them as an instructor trainee. Though steeped in grief, Logan tried their best to pull themself together for the sake of Lia. Eventually, life became more manageable bit by bit, day by day.
At age 22, they met Giselle. Logan was attracted at first sight, particularly to the large set of iridescent wings protruding from her back, reminiscent of a dragonfly’s. Logan found in their private moments together that they were finally able to start grieving, albeit 4 years late. Giselle gave them a sense of security and warmth that had been missing while they had put on a brave face and tried to be a responsible guardian for Lia. It didn’t take long for the two to become more than friends (something the kids called a situationship, their teenaged sister would later inform Logan).
As an openly mutant artist, Giselle was not loved by all. However, those that did love her loved her a lot, and she had begun to garner a sizable mostly-mutant fanbase. However, as often happens with fans of music artists, some became a bit too…rabid. One such fan accosted Giselle after a local live gig, leading to an altercation with Logan who had accompanied her that night. That became the catalyst that manifested Logan's latent mutation. The fan ended up in the hospital with cracked ribs and a promise that if he ever approached Giselle again, he would end up much worse. From then on, Logan would escort Giselle to and from all of her performances, acting as an unofficial bodyguard of sorts. When she started to get bigger, however, and her popularity began to leak into the mainstream, Logan knew they had to be better prepared if they were to protect her, leading to their enrollment in formal bodyguard training. Although their romantic relationship did not last (Logan was entirely too emotionally unavailable at the time), they maintained a close bond as friends and employer/employee.
Logan’s mutation was a boon when they needed to fight, but it was mostly a bane because they were entirely too new at managing it. They learned the hard way the limits to their ability after breaking their own arm from the overflow of kinetic energy, and it was mostly through trial and error that they attained any semblance of control (they are very much still a work in progress).
Eventually, Giselle got a love call from a small mutant-owned record company, and Lia got into an out-of-state college. It was time to move onto the next chapters of their lives, Logan included. With Giselle’s insistence, they stayed on as her bodyguard and began a new life in a new home: New York City.

Sample RP:
“H-hey, Giselle!” A voice called out from the end of the alley, cracking midway. A young man, looking to be in his early 20s, emerged slowly from the shadows, his face coated in sweat and hands slightly quivering. He was tall and lanky, so lanky that any grandmother passing by would immediately start fretting over him. The black and green scales scattered all over his body became more apparent as he entered the streetlight’s glow, along with his oversized tail. It was almost as long as he was and quite bulky, resembling a crocodile’s appendage.
Though initially surprised, Giselle answered in a friendly tone, recognizing him as a part of the audience during her performance earlier that evening, “Oh, hi! Thanks for coming out tonight.”
“O-of course…anything for you,” he answered, the parts of his face bare of scales beginning to redden with embarrassment. He couldn’t believe she was talking to him! He had spent so long imagining how their first conversation would unfold, how they would hit it off immediately, how she would fall in love with him the way he had fallen in love with her. He was almost so lost in his delusion that he barely caught what she said next.
“I really appreciate your support! Hope to see you at the next show.” Giselle began to turn away, grabbing Logan’s arm with one hand and waving to the man with the other.
“Wait!” He cried out before he could stop himself. The couple stopped in their tracks, looking back at him quizzically. “I…I’m not done talking to you.” Logan began to feel uneasy, sensing a strange tension seeping into the air. They had initially assumed he was just another nervous fan excited to meet his idol, but something in his tone had taken a hard edge.
“Hey, we really appreciate how much you like Giselle. But it’s been a long night, and it’s time for her to go home and get some rest,” they said, beginning to step between her and the man. They didn’t think the fan would try anything, but it was better to be safe than sorry, and at least they had a decade of martial arts to back them up if things went south.
“I don’t just l-like her. I love her. I love her.” He began to march closer to them, reaching out towards the object of his desire. Logan put up a hand to his chest, bringing him to a halt. Perhaps their instinct hadn’t been wrong.
“Don’t come any closer.” Don’t do anything stupid, my guy.
“Don’t touch me!” The fan growled, pushing Logan’s arm away and shoving them back, almost sending them colliding with Giselle. His strength was surprising for such a skinny guy. Perhaps his mutation had more to do than his pretty scales. Logan stumbled for a moment but quickly caught themself before they ate dirt. However, it was too late when they saw the tail charging towards them. Ah, they should have known it was prehensile. The appendage smashed into their stomach, knocking the air out of them and sending them flying onto their back.
“Logan!” Giselle gasped in shock, immediately crouching down to their side. “Can you stand?” She asked, checking them for injuries and helping pull them up to a sitting position.
How could she only have eyes for them? The man's hands balled up into tight fists as he watched her completely ignore him, only tending to her companion. She should have been paying attention to him, who loved her so much he spent every waking moment watching her videos, streaming her songs, daydreaming about their future together…
After helping Logan to their feet, Giselle turned her gaze towards the man, golden eyes burning with fury. “Leave us alone,” she growled, “Don’t touch them again or you’ll regret it.”
Her words were like daggers plunging into his heart, twisting round and round with each venomous syllable. How can she speak that way to me? Why can't she see how much I love her? His tail twitched frenetically, readying to lash out again. But Logan had finally caught their breath, and they would not be caught unawares again. As the fan wound up to strike, they jumped in front of Giselle to catch the tail in their arms, heels digging into the pavement, grunting from the impact of the blow. Holding the appendage in a vice grip, they raised their arms up, deltoids flexing from the strain. Ignoring the demands from the man to let go, they flung the tail and its owner against a brick wall with a heavy snap. His body made impact with a satisfying crunch. He groaned with pain as he slumped to the ground, an alleyway puddle soaking into his clothes. Well, he wasn't dead.
As if coming to their senses, Logan looked down at their hands in confusion. No matter how much they had been lifting at the gym, they shouldn't have been able to pancake the guy so easily. They caught the remnants of a multicolored glow emanating from their body, beginning to fade away. What...?
"Oh my god..." Giselle started, grabbing Logan's hand, "I think you're a mutant too."
