The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shaking his head Orion followed Ire out of the Cave hoping hed come too soon, cause he wasnt sure how much longer he could hold out. He still hadnt replenished the blood he was missing.
"I think Ires having a very real nightmare, hun and until I can get him out of it Ive got to play along. Thats what all this is for." he said indicating their swords.
Tricity and Ire dragged Orions limp form into the Cave. With police hot on their tail they didnt want to lead them to the mansion. Ire started a fire in the hearth while tricity filled the kettle with water from the stream to boil it to try and take care of his wounds. Orions body had not yet started to heal it self. They managed to get him into one of the chairs by the fire. Ire unstrapped the sword off Orions back and layed it by his side. He knew Orion didnt like to be far from his blades. Tricity began to dab all the dried blood away from the gash. It looked bad, but she could tell it had tried to heal once already. As they both worked tirelessly toward their goal, Tricity began to ask Ire questions about their past together. Ire wasnt sure how much Orion had told her and how much he wanted her to know. Then again Ire knew Orion to be brutally honest with the people he cared for, so he hoped the wounded giant wouldnt begrudge him for the truth. Ire told Tricity all about Orions wife, and the days of old when he and Orion would defend their kingdom. Ire smiled as he retold a specific event of how Orion had saved his neck by sacrificing his own body. Then how Ire had spent two weeks dragging his body through the woods trying to get him back to their castle, so his wife could apply medical help. Ire also told her of the reason why they had fought when he had first awoken here at this time. Tricity was not altogether suprised at all this but was very interested and didnt want Ire to stop the tales.
Slowly but surely Tricity began to get a good clear picture of some of Orions past. Ire and Tricity had been so busy trading questions and answers and trying to stop the bleeding that neither one of them noticed that the other hand had started to smoke. The gash slowly healed andstopped its bleeding. Tricity was still cleaning all the dried up blood off and asking more questions. Ire was still answering as best he could and searching for any more wounds. Ire, unlike Orion did not hide details from those that asked. Tricity learned just how gory, and bloody ancient history really was. It was not like the movies. It really was a survival of the fittest. Tricity had no problems seeing that someone such as Orion and Ire had survived quite nicely, but she didnt quite understand how he was able to survive all through the ages. Ire explained to her that because of his unique abilities and healing capabilities, a side effect of them was he didnt age anywhere near as fast as the rest of them.
Tricity had figured it would be something like that. Then an odd question entered her mind and she spoke it to Ire.
"What was his wife like, Ire?"
Ire looked at her intently for a moment or two then decided on the truth once again.
"She was beautiful, like a rose, smart as a scholar, and powerful like a warrior. Her voice was soft but laden with wisdom and care. Wherever she went eyes followed. Many men had tried to take her from Orion, but none had a chance. You see, she had found true love with him, and she wanted nothing more than that. She didnt care about money or fame or castles, or land or servants. She was happy with him. He was too. I can remember the nights wed be out on the hunt and we sit on a cliff and hed sit right on the edge and stare up at the stars. He used to say to me 'Ire, shes watching me. Shes watching me watch her.' The day she died, I saw such sorrow and bitterness to the world as I have never seen before. In battle he was merciless, demonic, even. He bore a power like none before. He slaughtered, and massacred any that bore a weapon. he wasnt himself after she was killed. He had lost that charm that you see in him today, Tricity." Ire said shaking his head as he gazed upon his unconscious friend.
"He didnt always used to be the teddy Bear you know of today, dear. His battle cry echoed to the far ends of any battle field. Never did a sword last anymore than two or three battles. Even the biggest broadsword was no match for the monstrocity swinging it. The only reason he stayed pure is that he trusted me enough to point him in the direction of those that were evil. I had to show him where to kill and when to go. One battle in particular sticks out in memory like no other. It was dawn, and cold. The fields were golden as the suns rays. We had tracked a party of raiders far east as we could. The night before we had caught up to them. Spending the night without fire we slept under animal skin to keep warm. Our ambush was planned at dawn. Awakening early we checked our weaponry, and our armor. His was cracked and probably not going to last the day. With a frame that size he cant move with great speed, or stealth. I gave him the option of postponing the fight till we could repair his armor. He declined. Crossing the fields at dawn was risky but couldnt be helped. The battle began. What we didnt know was that they had met up with another party of raiders just as large as them. Our little ambush started to go bad. I had been shot with an arrow or two. He had found another brute to battle against. This one left a three inch deep gash across his chest. Orion had looked down at it and almost lost it right there. I was suprised as he kept it in check. The battle betweent the two of these titans was loud and full of nothing but death blows. They seemed evenly matched until.
"He saw his wifes necklace around one of the fleeing raiders forearm. I was too far away to stop him. I tried to darken the whole area around him but it was too late. Unless hes gone this far here hes never gotten this bad again, but his eyes and hands not only smoked red, but caught a-flame. A blood red flame burned furiously from both eyes and both hands. I knew what was coming, to an extent. I leapt up a tree as fast as I could. I almost didnt make it. His rage had transfered to his abilities and his power had jumped to an incredible height. No army could have stood against that kind of anguish. Brandishing his sword he was covered in some sort of red auora that seemed to kick up a nasty wind. He went berserk. He lay seige to the entire field of men, with just one sword and no armor. I can remember at one point about ten men had jumped on him trying to pin him to the ground. It was no use. Every one of them fell before his hand. He didnt use his sword on those ones either. Thats was hand to hand combat." Ire was staring off into the distance as the story fell out of his mouth as if it had been yesterday. There was something in his eyes that told Tricity he really truly cared about his friend. "All my shadows and aparitions couldnt get near him. They were blasted away by the chaos that was surrounding him.
"At this point there was no stopping him. He was off the deep end it seemed. That sword swung and lashed out and desicrated everything in its path. He had slain the brute of an opponent with but one swipe, and was cutting a bloody, gory path through the field. Arrows couldnt penetrate the wind and men couldn't slip past his sword. One of the moves I saw him invent as he battled his rage away was one of pure power. He would catch hold of his opponents head with one hand. And with a paw that size he just squeezed their heads until the heads became bloody pulps. The battle raged until he finally caught the foot of the man whom had his wifes necklace. On his way up to the ncklace he crushed every bone in the mans body that way. The corpse fell to the ground like nothing Id ever seen before. But he had what he was after in his hands now. Looking at the thing in his hands he began to cradle it to his bloody, war tainted body. He sank to his knees. The wind subsided and I was able to get down from my hiding place. Moving over to him I saw him look up at me and say. 'It was hers. I made it for her. She never took it off.' Then I saw what no other man has ever seen. This giant on his knees after vanquishing an entire army, almost by his lonesome, was on his knees, necklace in hand, weeping over it. So much blood had covered his face that when the tears streamed down his tanned face they left a trail of cleaned skin in their wake. Finally he stood. After all that I lead him out off that field like one would lead a child once the danger was over." Ire snapped out of his glassy eyes gaze and looked back at Tricity with a steady eye. "You seem to have many of the same traits that she did. Do not, however think that he is in love with you because you remind him of her though. He came to terms with her death long ago ad has since obviously moved on with his life and made much of it at that." Ire said indicating his Cave, Tricity, and Archon who had come in while he was talking to lay by Orion's side. "What you have here, Tricity is a man who believes he failed to protect his last wife, and who will stop at nothing to save you. Do not wager that anything means more to him than you do. And whatever you do do not break his heart. Even Chaos, Me and you might not be able to stop him if that were to occur.
"I see you are good with children, and care for many as if they were your own. This is a trait that Orion holds in the highest regard. Long ago he talked to me of fathering children of his own. So that someday he may come home from quests and have his children run to him and launch themselves into his arms and call out his name in happiness. And to have his wife enter the room with a smile on her face and a warm kiss for him. His life long dream was and probably still is to have a family he can call his own, of his own flesh and blood. I doubt even the gods could stop him if someone took that away from him. Perphaps that is why we work so well together, because we are not so unlike each other in this way." Tricity was seeing a different side to these warriors she had never seen before. Here in this dark cave Ire was sharing some of his most personal secrets with her, and not only Orion's. Orion started to move his head slightly and moan a little as he came around from his dreary state. Tricity immediatly began to get back to work, but she still thought of what Ire had told her.
His mouth moved and he utterd inaudible words. The bleeding had stopped and the gash was almost healed. Ire knew it wouldnt be long now until his fallen friend awoke again.
