The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>”I am. I am Hercules. Son of Zues. Protector of mortals. Champion of justice. Slayer of tians and strongest amongst the gods.”
Ookay then. Gawain stared some more. To be honest, the guy had said that before (some of that anyway), but he had been... kind of focusing on the 'dating Liz' part.
>>”Shall I show my exploits? Recite my trials? Lift a bus? I’ve grown accustomed to this reaction. Ah, this is the time I battled a Kraken.”
The guy was glowing. And had tattoos of his exploits. Gawain, ever being the mythology nerd, looked at them curiously.
>>”Shall I summon my club as further proof?”
Gawain almost said yes.
"Um, so... I'm sorry, I just assumed you were a mutant or a mystic, and Hercules was... some kind of a stage name. But you are telling me... you're an actual god? That's a thing?" It was, at this point, not exactly outside the realm of possibility. By a long shot.
”Fear not Gawain Morris! I’m not offended!” he set his tea down on the table before him. ”I have been called those both in my life time. Elizabeth has the most wonderful thoughts on the subject of what I am.” it was a philosophical question, one he often avoided dwelling on for too long. He just knew what he was. A protector of humanity.
”Ha ha! I am a thing.” the prince of power chuckled. ”I was mortal once but now.” he glowed again and gestured up and down, ”I’m this.” he said glossing over the grueling years he spent trying to achieve his current glory.
”Hopefully this doesn’t hurt William’s chances getting into school here? Hercules asked turning his glow off again.
”Elizabeth said it wouldn’t be a problem. I know you don’t really have a curriculum to help mystics the way you do with your other students but magic is better self taught. It’s important to learn from ones mistakes.” picking up the tea again he added, ”and anything he can’t figure out on his own I help fill in the blanks.” he said smiling.

Alright, then. Gods were a thing. Mirror took statements like that with a grain of salt - how did one differentiate between god, mystic, and powerful mutant?... The Mansion basically had a Poseidon, after all... But Liz seemed to have thoughts about that too. The mythology nerd in Mirror was excited for the prospect.
>>”Hopefully this doesn’t hurt William’s chances getting into school here?
Well...
>>”Elizabeth said it wouldn’t be a problem. I know you don’t really have a curriculum to help mystics the way you do with your other students but magic is better self taught. It’s important to learn from ones mistakes. and anything he can’t figure out on his own I help fill in the blanks.”
Gawain sighed.
"Liz is right. Partially. But... alright, here is the thing. Mystics are a very recent occurrence, and there is a lot we don't know. But, to be fair, our experiences so far have not been very good. The cult that seems to recruit mystics, they took my wife and daughter, and stripped them of their mutant powers. Permanently. They are both mystics now. People taken the same way... they are not given a choice. Mutants always end up being the ones that need to be purified, or fixed, or improved... or destroyed." He frowned.
There was a calm in the air. Something about this place seemed so... pleasant. Which was high praise from an immortal. Taking a sip of his tea again Hercules listened as Gawain Morris what the problem was with William enrolling here. Once he finished it took a moment for all the words to sink in. It was the calm before the storm.
The cup trembled in his hand then shattered as the behemoth started to glow. His tattoos and sigils moved across his body. Hercules’s rage swirled like a tempest. The cult of mystics... the ones that hunted William sent assassins after him. The ones that welcomed the horrific experiments of the vile Dr. Cama.
They would have no peace while the Titan Slayer still drew breath.
”It seems they have no limits to their depravity. Abusing the power given to them and forcing it upon others. That was three magic users he knew of now in the mansion. All of them... they deserved to be protected as well.
”Know this Gawain Morris. As I still draw breath those mystics, the ones who should force something as ancient as magic upon others... I will not rest until they are stopped.” his brow lowered and it looked like Hercules was going to break something else. Or someone.
”It is meant to be a gift. Not something like this...” his glowing died down however his rage did not. He was saving it for a ‘rainy’ day ideally one that rained mystics. ”I am sorry that happened to your wife and daughter Gawain Morris. However, William is not like that. He too is being hunted by them. At least I believe the two groups to be the same. They already failed at a few attempts on his life.”
Gawain jumped as the cup shattered in Hercules' hand, instantly tensing up. Even Angua growled, perking her ears up. The display of glowing sigils looked... impressive. And definitely threatening. But the threat did not seem to be directed at him.
>>”It seems they have no limits to their depravity. Abusing the power given to them and forcing it upon others. Know this Gawain Morris. As I still draw breath those mystics, the ones who should force something as ancient as magic upon others... I will not rest until they are stopped.”
Somehow, Gawain believed him. He did not put it past the mystics to try to infiltrate the Mansion, but Mirror was good at reading people, and he could tell Hercules' rage was genuine. It would have been hard to fake rage like that. The glowing stopped eventually, as he got his powers under control. Angua made a whining sound; Mirror called her over to scratch her ear.
>>”It is meant to be a gift. Not something like this... I am sorry that happened to your wife and daughter Gawain Morris. However, William is not like that. He too is being hunted by them. At least I believe the two groups to be the same. They already failed at a few attempts on his life.”
"They hunt another mystic?" Gawain blinked, surprised. That was... a new development. Granted, mutants fought each other all the time... but this was proof that mystics were not one big bag organized cult either. And a kid, hunted by fanatics... that was definitely the profile for Mansion enrollment. Gawain sighed. "Sounds like William would fit right in here. But. I'm going to need something from you in return." He sat back. "We are equipped to withstand all kinds of human and mutant attacks. You already know the Mansion is a popular target. And when it comes to magic... we are only beginning to understand it. We don't know how to defend against it. Can you help us with that?"
”Yes, ones that cross them. William, he...” Hercules cut off for a moment knowing he shouldn’t be divulging his masters nor his secrets but knew that this was a safe place. Elizabeth thought so highly of it and everyone here. Meaning they could be trusted. She was an excellent judge of character after all. As long as he didn’t involve his other masters in the reveal, he wouldn’t be crossing any requests from them.
”William stole something important from one of the mystics. I gather someone higher up and capable. It was the reason they sent others after him. They want it back. However, it is impossible for them to get it back.” the manacles that his young master wore was the tether to this plane. It is a gift that only the worthy may wear. Those who tried to summon him previously were not worthy.
The request caused the muscled behemoth to laugh, ”Gawain Morris. You have come to the right God with the request. I am a protector of mortals.” he stood up his glowing started up again but was soft enough so the one before him didn’t have to avert his gaze.
”All mortals. Mutant, human and mystic. Should any be foolish enough to attack this school where my master resides, I Hercules shall dispatch of them with ease. As long as I draw breath this mansion and all that reside shall be under my protection!” at several points of his speech he flexed showing off his trials.
”I shall help anyway I am able! Even if William is not enrolled here.” he reached his hand over for a handshake, this was a pact. The god rarely went back on his word.
