The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Huninn could not smile, as much as Liz wanted to. Instead she settled for nodding her head knowingly. “I think I’d very much like to meet your master one day,” she said. It was unfair to paint all teenagers with the same, selfish brush, but in her experience, many of them tended to think of themselves first and foremost, most of the time.
Then there was that thing about mortals again. Why did he put it like that? The raven cocked its head to scrutinize Hercules, searching for signs of personality disorders or psychotic behaviors, as if they’ve been plastered over his face like the tattoos were swirled all over his body. Or were the glowing tattoos also a sign of something?
There was too little information to go on, and much of it speculative, and--what was that about magic versus mutation? Liz didn’t even get out a krukk before the doors were shattered.
Huninn could not face palm either, which was probably for the best. Liz cawed out in surprise as some glass landed amongst her feathers and she immediately ruffled them up and shook herself, wings flapping against Hercules’s face momentarily. It was a very effective distraction.
“Please try not to damage the school like you did the bank!” she said exasperatedly. Seriously, it was worse than when Carrick was around! She was going to have to do so much apologizing to Doc later. And probably help clean up, too.
Elizabeth focused her yellow eyes on the Doc and called out, “Hello Doc, this is Liz speaking. I’d like you to meet my friend here, Hercules. He’s the guy I told you about.” She’d filled the Doc in on what had transpired at the bank and as much as she knew about what Hercules was after. She pumped her wings and fluttered off Hercules’s shoulders and onto the back of a chair, trying to keep Huninn’s less-than-sterile body away from anything that would need to be sterilized or washed later.
“Hercules, this is the Doc,” she said by way of introduction. “He’s our resident doctor, health teacher and, healer as you say. Would you mind filling him in on what specifically you’re needing and looking for?”
The bird flapping in his face was a momentary distraction. One that caused him to activate his strength a little in case the man of ice attacked again. The air was still pretty cold from everything and with the tunnels behind him he didn’t want to be an easy target. Because let’s face it. There was nothing easy about the demi-god.
”He damaged a bank?” Sam asked watching the show after the healer Doc was done working on him. Just in time too. The icemancer was a little more confident in his abilities now that he was healed. Doc watched as the tattoo’s around Hercules person lit up.
”I did!” the giant mound of muscles said as if it wasn’t a bad thing. ”In fact that was how the Lizard Queen and I met! Though I don’t know if she is still a queen of lizards any longer now that she seems to be a bird now...” Hercules looked to the bird and studied it clear the wheels were turning as Hercules was trying to find the best name for the woman.
”I was new to the era and wasn’t exactly sure how to accumulate wealth quickly. Then I recalled I had seen a few movies recently about bank heists and why people did them. I thought my cause was just!” there was a flex as he moved to step over the broken glass. Both Sam and Doc seemed a little on edge. ”Never fear though! She stopped me with reason and hope that I could come collect... I mean use the talents of your glorious healer!”
”I... apologize for my entrances. I require your talents you see, my master’s mother is sick. In curable they say! Modern medicine can’t do anything to bring her out of the...” Hercules leaned in as if he was about to name a dangerous disease. ”A coma....” there was a dramatic pause from the giant waiting to hear the audible ‘gasp’.

Has Elizabeth neglected to mention the whole bank thing to Sam? Apparently so. Ah well, who could blame her? After going through enough hostage situations and such, they all tended to blur together and each one just seemed less important. “I’ll fill you in later,” she told Sam in an aside.
Come to think of it, such a scenario could prove useful for their training sessions. Again, it wasn’t like it had been the first time Liz had been surrounded by gunman and big musclebound men with an intent to cause harm and/or property damage. Also, she really hoped “Lizard Queen” didn’t stick. It wasn’t that she hated it, it was just...awkward and weird. And would definitely have made her start blushing in embarrassment if she’d been her human self. Thank God for raven feathers!
Huninn’s eyes focused on the glowing tattoos and tried following their movements, trying to analyze their patterns in case one started looking tasty or something. That only freed Liz’s mind to pick up on something else he said. “What do you mean, ‘new to this era’?” she queried, her head cocking sideways.
But then he plunged headlong into her request and revealed...William’s mom was in a coma.
Neither Liz nor the Doc said anything for a moment. Then Liz realized that’s all there was. “Oh, a coma. What’s the disease?” she asked. She didn’t exactly know the limitations of Doc’s abilities, but she knew he couldn’t do miracles. Heal most wounds? Easy. Sickness and plague? Much trickier, or so she understood.
”Can’t wait....” if she was in sight or in range of his thermal vision she would have gotten a chill sent her way instead he just held his tongue. ”I will gladly regal you with my exploits!” Hercules boasted. ”It truly was out of character for me!” he said gleaming in the infirmary lights. So much so he couldn’t see Sam roll his eye.
”Maybe another time. Doc you good?” Sam asked before getting a nod and decide it was best to watch from a far. Sam stood up and walked out before giving the big guy one last stare down before crunching glass under his feet as he walked out.
”Farwell cold one! May we meet in battle again! It was quite the workout!” he said giving the cold one one last thumbs up before turning back to the healer and the raven. ”New era. I was summoned to this time a few months ago.” Hercules said as if that solved her question. Mortals. Always so inquisitive.
”and the...” he leaned in again and spoke softly saying the curse again, ”A coma.” he stood tall again and spoke louder, ”Is the disease. For they can’t heal her by means of modern medicine. A few of the staff members even asked if I wanted to pray with them to heal her! Can you believe it? Me a god! Praying to another god. One that hasn’t been seen for centuries. Sure I’d ask favor from Apollo my brother of his son and my nephew Asclepius but they too apparently haven’t been seen in centuries.” he said with a loud sigh. His shoulders sagged, ”Please of mighty healer! I beg you. Heal my masters mother and if you see fit please heal my master!”
Hercules didn’t like to bow but this was a fine time to do so. He was asking the world of the healer, for he knew not of his powers and what was required to do such. The giant dropped to his knees in the glass and bowed the way he would to his father, or another being more powerful.

Liz wasn’t exactly looking forward to telling Sam about her...adventure…but she couldn’t pin down a precise reason. Maybe because it felt like getting called to the principal’s office? Or because it felt like she was going to have to debrief him on a situation as if she were an X-Men? Or because her lack of preparing him inadvertently led to an escalated confrontation on school grounds? Most likely it was just because dealing with Hercules was just hard to explain.
He spoke with a somewhat unusual style and easily spoke to lizards and ravens without missing a beat. He never showed surprise at anything, only good humor, and he didn’t seem to hide a single thing he felt. He was just so present and in the moment and had a way of taking up all the space and focus in the room, and not just because he was huge and very, very muscular.
Also he was a time traveller. Human Liz would’ve raised her eyebrows in mild surprise. Raven Liz merely looked at him with a calculating side eye. It wasn’t that she hadn’t heard of time travel events before, or even time travel mutations, and it would definitely explain some things about him, but it could also be a convenient lie. Interesting.
“When are you from, then?” she asked casually. “I can’t say I know anyone who’d be able to help you return though.”
For the millionth time Liz was glad she was inhabiting Huninn’s body and not her own. Raven’s didn’t drop their jaw in surprise. As such, the meaningless concepts of deities and such in Huninn’s mind was a bulwark for the scientist in his cerebrum.
In her lingering silence, Doc took over, smooth as silk as if he encountered such things every day and twice on Thursdays. “Well, Mr. Hercules,” he said. “THere’s no need to bow. I cannot guarantee anything without looking over the patient myself, but I would be willing to examine her herself. Even then, there may not be anything I can do - mortal science may have failed her, but my mortal powers may not prove superior.” His voice was kind and warmth and his gaze was soft and sympathetic.
“If you can provide me with her name, contact details, and where she’s receiving care, I should be able to pay her a visit this evening.”
Liz just gawked, even if it was hidden by avian disinterest. He thought himself a god...like actual Hercules? Oi ve. She contemplated ramming Huninn’s head into a wall repeatedly. She really should’ve let Sam take charge of this anyway.

”Ha Ha! YES!!!!!” Hercules shouted and jumped throwing a fist into the air at the response of the healer. It was more than what he could have hoped for! A healer for his master’s mother! This was great news! He looked forward to telling his master! William would be so..... pleased.... The giant landed with a thud still beaming. ”....... My master does not know I’m here.... Nor will he be happy that I mentioned his mother.... I just needed a healer....” he didn’t want to get William’s hopes up. While the child might not make a big deal out of it he knew what it would do to him if there was no chance that the healer could wake his mother.
”I can do two of those things!” Hercules said his shoulders slumping a little. ”I’d prefer to escort you, for we are being hunted and I’d prefer to play things close to the chest.” his muscles flexed. ”It might not give you ample time to study her case but...” he frowned and looked to the crow that was the former Lizard queen and now the crow queen. ”Please keep this information secret. I will reveal it all to you....” his face turning more into a chiseled and stone like.
Hercules recited the things needed for Doc to do his own investigation, her name, location and his masters number. ”We will meet you there. It’s safer that way and I know my master will be cross if she awakes and he isn’t around.” he said puffing up his chest. It was more to get him motivated to confront his master with the information today.
He didn’t need to bow but he did so again, ”I thank you healer. Let it be known even if you can’t help them you have favor with me. Should you need anything.... don’t hesitate to ask!” not wanting to dilly dally he stood and looked to the bird. ”You will be joining us yes?” he asked. ”In you’re human form?”

Elizaraven watched the cavalcade of feelings erupt through Hercules like a telenovela on fast-forward. Enough joy that he almost took out a ceiling light, enough seriousness that he made the room seem to get as cold as it tended to do when Sam was around, and a disillusionment that was a bit heartbreaking.
“I’m sorry--you’re being hunted? Explain,” she cut it, latching on to the words almost innocently slid into the conversation. Oh boy. Same was really not going to like it if she got the Doc involved in something that would end up with him getting hunted. Sure, sure, the Doc was an adult and could probably handle himself but still! And if Hercules was being hunted, did that mean William was as well? Oh, the thousands of questions Liz wanted to ask this man! And the dozens there just wasn’t a chance to!
“I understand your concern for security and privacy,” she said, not even bothering to go as far as to take into account HIPAA guidelines and medical legalities. “And your need to keep things close to your” very impressive “chest.” She didn’t completely understand, actually. She sensed there was a whole lot more that hadn’t been said yet. None the least his claimed godly lineage! “I shall be discrete.”
The doc repeated a similar promise and he patiently took down the information. He seemed completely unruffled by everything, perhaps even mildly amused. “I’ll take you up that,” he said with a smile. “I’ll be there.”
“I uh, will as well,” Liz said after a moment. Oh yes, she was definitely not going to enjoy that talk with Sam about how she put herself and Doc in a potentially very dangerous situation that involved them all being hunted. “As a human, even,” she added somewhat lamely. Well, she was the one who got everyone into this mess. The right thing was to be there to help clean it up, right?
”Well technically my master is. I’m hunted by proxy. For no harm shall come to William when I still draw breath on this mortal plane!” he said correcting himself and not elaborating on who was hunting them. Hercules probably said more than William wanted him to say. Such was the curse of a teenager.
”I’ve already stopped to attempts on his life. The first brought me to this time and the second was from a Samuri with the power of thunder and lighting.” he said downplaying the previous threat. He almost lost his form after that fight. ”He was formidable but club and I were up to the challenge. Attacking the son of the Zeus with cheap parlor tricks.” he scoffed then looked back to the bird and offered his arm hoping Liz would get the message. The demi-god was leaving.
”I look forward to meeting you at the hospital!” he said with a massive wave of his hand to Doc before turning and crunching on some glass on the way out. The demi-god felt like he was floating. He looked down realizing his body just decided on glowing instead. ”It truly is an auspicious day!” he boomed.
The ice tunnel that led the way to the infirmary seemed to be stronger than before cold permeated the air. If he was anyone else he’d be shivering however the glowing of his tattoo’s gave him warmth and he was too excited for the nights events.
”You’d know it as Ancient Greece.... you asked when I was from. I don’t know the exact date I was born. I was more concerned about becoming a god.” he spoke plainly. The crow, or rather Elizabeth earned the truth and so far she struck him as the type of person he could be honest with.

Hercules’s explanation...well, Liz wasn’t sure it made her feel better, but also couldn’t deny his abilities. Shrugging off gunfire, ripping a bank vault’s door off its hinges, and generally ignoring everything Sam threw at him while only slowing down a bit? Liz had been involved in sketchier situations.
Liz wasn’t sure that made her feel better either.
“I’ll be back to help clean up,” Liz informed Doc before hopping and gently gliding to Hercules’s proffered arm-perch. It was very clear he didn’t want to stick around any longer, having achieved his goal, and he needed to be escorted out of the building. Of course, she assumed Sam had been doubling down on his ice walls and repairing any damage to it (possibly with some threats of extra combat training or something to prevent new damage), but so far Hercules seemed willing to abide by Liz’s presence.
Sam, he followed me home. Can I keep him? Like that would go over well. No, for everyone’s sake, Liz needed Hercules to get off the school’s grounds as soon as possible.
Huninn ruffled his feathers against the increased chill in the air, but was otherwise unmoved. He was used to such temperatures. Likewise, Liz was just as comfortable, but that was to be expected from a purely psychic form.
“I must confess that’s a rather bold claim,” Elizabeth said. “I do not disbelieve you - I’ve certainly encountered many wonderful things in my lifetime, but as the legendary figure Hercules? That’s a step above what I’m used to. I’d love to hear more. When you say you were trying to become a god, are you referring to the twelve labors?”
If he was satisfying her curiosity while also possibly being distracted from his surroundings in the mansion, all the better.
”I’m a god, most of the things I do can be described as bold.” he said truthfully then looked down to the talking crow perched on his arm. The bird was eyelevel with him and he often made eye contact often trying to see if he could gaze into the eyes of the bird to see for any sign of Elizabeth. The woman was inquisitive and intelligent and from what he had seen from her before kind. Meaning she was exactly who the demi-god liked surrounding himself with so while he would usually boast his status as god he was surprisingly calm when she said she didn’t believe him.
”It’s fine, my status as a god is unaffected by anyone who doubts me so I shall have to once again prove who I am. I relish any opportunity to show my abilities and impress any doubters.” the Demigod scoffed again for the second time today as they walked, ”Tweleve?” he repeated back chuckling. ”I’m always impressed they only thought twelve was enough to etch into history. Though they thought Homer’s stories were long so I guess I could see why....”
”No, twelve was the number they shared with the rest of the world, to the gods my trials were far greater in number. I didn’t have to just impress.... her.” he didn’t say Hera’s name, he was having a good day and his grudge ran deep for that woman who did everything in her power to both kill him and eventually strip him of his godly throne. ”Each god in my pantheon had several tests for me. Her’s were just the most.... frustrating.” he didn’t elaborate the twelve that he knew of were impressive feats but he didn’t thing they were the best ones.
Whether it was the bird itself or the woman controlling it Hercules was more than happy to talk more about himself. ”I’ll gladly tell you more! Perhaps over dinner?” the giant asked the bird as the large wooden doors of the mansion burst open as Hercules gave them a push making sure not to break anything else. Ducking down under the door frame and exiting the mansion, ”If only to feed your curiosity of in way of thanks for helping me and my master.” he smiled then looked upwards to the blue sky.
There were already a few children near the craters he put in the ground with his fight from earlier. One of the children created a jet of water filling the hole. ”This is truly a magical place. I’m glad to see that the gifted and cursed alike have a place to call home.” his eyes watered up recalling the many ‘mutant’ friends he had in life, the ones who had dreamed about this and struggled to achieve some place similar to this. How their sacrifices weren’t for nothing. There was a place where future generations thrived. ”What a time to be alive.”

Elizabeth was of two minds as she rode along from her perch on Hercules’s arm. Well, three minds if you counted Huninn. One part of her was ready to become enthralled in Hercules’s stories. What an unprecedented event, learning the true history of ancient Greece from one who had been there and been a part of it himself!
The other part of her knew it was too good to be true. The gods weren’t gods. If they had ever actually existed, they had been highly exaggerated over time or had simply been ancient mutants. Nothing of Hercules’s story was impossible to duplicate with the correct combination of active mutations, so nothing confirmed any part of his story.
But stories were enjoyable nevertheless, real or not.
Liz had to admit she was impressed that he had an answer for everything. Either he was genuine, or he was just that good at scamming people.
Dozens of questions leaped to her mind and when he stopped to breathe she got ready to speak, but then his words stole her own.
“Awrk?” Huninn said as Liz momentarily let her psychic reins slacken. The fact that she recovered mere seconds later was a result of her starting to get used to this massive guy making her speechless.
She cocked Huninn’s head and then turned to the side to look at him peripherally. She dipped her head, the closest she could come to a smile. “You know? I’d like that,” she said. “You’re an unusual man, Hercules.”
I mean, at the very least if things went south Liz could always direct flies into his soup or something. It never hurt to have backup plans.
She readjusted Huninn’s footing on the man’s bulging biceps as they entered the outside once again. He had a strange but fascinating way of describing the activities she saw every day. She allowed her own pride to flow into Huninn’s voice, as best as she could. It was still a far cry from her real voice though. “Yes, this place is an oasis. Many fear us, and rightfully so, and so many more do not understand us. It is nice to have a place where people are like you and like you for who you are, not what you look like or can do.”
She leaped off Hercules and hovered momentarily in front of him. “I will see you this evening, we can work out our dinner plans then. Until we meet again, Hercules, Son of Zues!”
She let out a screech of joy and banked, pounding her wings until she caught a draft that rapidly carried her up into the sky, until she became a faint dot in the sky.
The god smiled when the crow accepted his offer to dinner. Usually it would be one of his insults to dine on or with a crow but the was pushed away when he recalled what Elizabeth looked like in her human form. To think it would be his first official dinner in this era. The prince of Olympus could not wait to tell his master.... his master.... ”William will be cross...” he said more to himself watching the crow fly away.
----
The journey was a short one, filled with one apartment fire and a bus that refused to stop until the demi-god arrived. No bus was a match for him no matter how many small children resided inside when Hercules demanded it to stop it stopped. His clothing however was badly damaged and he needed a shower if he was going to meet Elizabeth and the healer at the hospital. Though when he stopped in the entrance way distracted by his bare chest in a mirror he wondered if it be better to go topless. He was an impressive sight.
“What are you doing?” the squeaking of the wheels revealed his master was home. ”Master!” “Stop calling me that!” ”William! I have wonderful news!” he said beaming with pride, so much so his body started to glow till he caught his magnificent reflection again. Distracted by clearing some of the soot from a few of his tattoos he continued, ”I stopped a fire! Then saved a bus full of children!”
“.... so a light day for you?” the teenager smirked leaning back in his chair glad for the distraction his eyes were heavy and he looked exhausted. Hercules made note to make him sleep before the hospital, clearly the boy was up all night reading again. No doubt looking for a cure for his mother. Tears started to well up and Hercules, ”Even better.... I found THE healer!”
----
The black sedan rolled up to the hospital front and Hercules exited from behind the driver seat and quickly went to the trunk and removed the wheel chair. Snapping it open with a single massive hand he rolled it around to the other side and ‘helped’ William into his seat. In reality all he did was make sure the young master didn’t fall. The teenager was stubborn after all. The squeaking of the wheels meant the chair was in motion again. The god and the boy were both sharply dressed. Hercules, in an attempt to impress both William’s mother and Elizabeth for different reasons.
”Healer! Elizabeth! Allow me to introduce you to my mas-” “Stop doing that! I can introduce myself!” rubbing the back of his head with a massive eye roll William waved to the pair. He didn’t offer a handshake. His manners were still a work in progress. ”Apologies, William. You have told me.” he smirked then rolled his master over to the pair who were waiting.

As the car rolled up, Elizabeth and Doc’s conversation faded away. They hadn’t been waiting long and it was always easy to fill their time in easy dialogue or deep discussions over one scientific or literary thing or another. As it was, their debate over the intricacies of citizenship in ancient Athens would have to wait for another time.
They both turned and smiled similar smiles of greeting as Hercules and the teenager approached, mirth dancing in their eyes over the interactions between the man and boy. “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Liz said warmly, giving William her best “first day of school” smile. She did not add that she’d heard so much about him already - it seemed Hercules had a hard time filtering his thoughts on anything.
Doc echoed her sentiment and tacked on, “You can call me DocProf virtually everyone else does.” His smile was ironic yet amused. “Well, no sense in standing out here all day, is there?” he said jovially. “Might as well go inside so I can take a look at what ails your mother. Shall we?” He indicated the entrance to the hospital.
The doors were all sliding doors that opened automatically. The hospital lobby was pretty crowded, as they usually were, but it wasn’t claustrophobic. Strangely, it was rather peaceful, albeit unsettling for the zoopath. Each step took her farther and farther from the animals she was always in tune with. Animals were not welcome in a hospital. It didn’t mean they weren’t there, but the general lack severly cut back on the standard background feelings and thoughts she was used to dealing with.
Liz fell into step by Hercules. “Snazzy outfit,” she said, giving him a once over. “How’s it compare to a chiton?” she asked smoothly. Yes, she was absolutely poking at his knowledge of ancient Greek clothing to see if his story held up. Best case scenario, it did and she got to talk ancient Greek clothing. Worst case scenario, she had her evidence. A win either way, really. She herself wasn’t dressed up nearly so much, electing for jeans and a smart button-down left untucked. Her wavy blonde hair was pulled into a messy bun, displaying simple paw print earrings and a shark tooth necklace. After all, it was a hospital visit, not a funeral.
“Nice to meet you...” the woman was almost too cheerful, William smiled and kept his thoughts to himself however those thoughts sometimes bled into Hercules’s thoughts. This time enough for the hulk of a man to put one of his massive fists onto the boys shoulders to reassure him that he was there and everything was going to turn out fine. At least that was what they all currently hoped.
The more the god of strength was around the healer or as he liked to be called, ‘DocProf’ the more and more the ancient hero liked the guy. His willingness to help and his attitude easily made him one of his favorite mortals of the era.
”Good evening Doloras!” Hercules boomed to the Leader of the Nurses all that happened in these halls she knew about so when Hercules and William wheeled by with two others in toe she smiled, “Good evening to you two, have some friends from out of town to visit your mother? How sweet! Oh and Hercules, if I find out you went shirtless again in one of my wards we will have some words! Have a nice night!” and with that the woman strode off revealing more to the other three than the prince of power wanted to share.
The squeaking of the wheels meant they were moving forward. Looking over to Elizabeth the god cleared his throat as if this conversation had nothing to do with what was just said, ”Thank you! It was tailored for me!” he said proudly before returning to her question, ”A bit more snug than them for sure. However I’m told they are making a comeback with Atlantis back in the picture in the fashion world. As they should, they flow and breath even if the material was a bit scratchy! Personally I was always more fond of my Olympic wear. Far easier to intimidate you’re adversaries in the pits!” he said smirking. Yes, he was implying his birthday suit.
The elevator doors opened and shut behind them then opened again, William seemed more nervous than usual keeping quite. The teenager often had questions, he was an inquisitive lad after all. ”Some things I’m glad to see haven’t made a comeback though... like Gryphons and Stymphalian birds. Though I did meet someone with poisoned wings. She was no match for me though!” Hercules boasted hunching over in the metallic cube as it rode upwards to the more private floors.
“How long have you been a doctor?” William spoke quickly to DocProf still not sure what was going to happen. It was clear his young master didn’t want to lose this ‘coma’ and if the god could help it he wouldn’t!

Liz didn’t miss the nurse’s comment. Oh no, Liz was giving everything about Hercules her complete intention. Nothing was slipping by her. She smirked and arched an eyebrow, darting her eyes over to catch his reaction. Sometimes moments like this could catch people off guard. Her smirk only widened at his apparent embarrassment. Well, good to know something could cause a reaction like that!
The Doc exchanged a quick greeting with Doloras. He didn’t know her well, but he’d interacted with her several times on some of his non-infrequent trips to the hospitals. A mutant healer of his power was something of a celebrity in those circles.
Elizabeth left those interactions to the Doc. She was here mostly by Hercules’s request and this was as good a chance to unravel the mystery of the man as any.
She turned her smile away long enough to wipe it off her face. Her eyes still glittered merrily though. “Indeed, I hear Atlantis is taking the Parisian fashion world by storm. Apparently the super retro look is very in right now.” She shot him another smile. “Well, it’s probably for the best there are no pits of adversaries around here, then. No need to, ah, intimidate anyone,” she retorted swiftly. Oh he was good, yes indeed. The charm was just extra.
Squeezing her way into the elevator, Liz managed to insinuate herself into a corner. William’s wheelchair and Hercules’s sheer mass filled up most of the space on their own. The small space also made his voice fill everything far easier. “Stymphalian birds, those I’d like to see,” she said with a nod. With her powers, they’d be no threat to her. “But I dated a gryphon once. And yeah, I can agree with you on that point.” She smiled wryly and Doc smothered his own amused grin.
“Just over forty years,” Doc said, bending down a bit to be more easily heard by William. Hercules certainly filled a space, in more ways than one. “But I’ve been a healer for longer than that. My mutant ability is to regenerate and heal people,” he said, looking down with a grandfatherly smile. “That will not be a problem, will it?”
