Character's real name: Cameron Johnson
Codename/Alias: Kai calls him Cam so to tick him off.
Gender: male
Age: 16 as of Dec. 31st
Nationality/Ethnicity: Swedish/ English
Birthplace: Saybrook, Illinois
Personality: Impulsive, mildly rebellious and hot tempered, but a softie on the inside. There’s a special place in his heart for all animals (except for maybe rabbits and/or deer if they eat his plants.) Cameron has a tendency to get in trouble from time to time, but would not intentionally do anything too bad.
Notes (Hobbies, Phobias, Worries, ect.): Hates winter. All the flowers are dead and he feels somehow empty without his flowers to talk to, which makes him cranky and irritable.
Allegiance (Good, Bad, or Neutral): Neutral
Everyday clothing: Jeans or overalls. Mostly green plaid and plain white shirts with sneakers. He wears a necklace made from sunflower seeds around his neck that Kai gave to him when they first discovered that they had powers.
Uniform (Optional. Required if eventually becoming part of the X-Men):
Pajamas: Ducky boxers and a plain t-shirt
Hair color and style: Brown and long enough to cover his eyes
Eye color: Green
Height: 5’6” and still growing like a weed
Build: Tall and lanky. Seems not to have grown into his body quite yet. Not much muscle, but enough to work on a farm/tend a garden.
Scars: Slightly crooked nose.
Tattoos: None
Piercings: None.
Description of ability(ies): Able to communicate with plants. His specialties are flowering plants and vines. He can make them grow, but prefers to ask them first.
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): He can’t conjure plants out of thin air. He needs a seed or sapling in order to make it grow, which is why he always carries around a packet of seeds. If he has a particularly strong connection with a plant or flower, that connection will remain until either he or the plant dies. If the plant/flower is hurting, so will he (only with a VERY strong connection). When wanting a seed to grow, he must be thinking of warmth, growth and life. He must also think of a happy thought.
Fighting style (if any): None except for staff fighting with Kai. His staff is about 5 feet tall and is made of dried out vines and dead wood. He also likes to bow hunt.
History of your character:
Cameron was born fourteen minutes before his twin brother,
Kai, but on separate sides of midnight on New Years Eve. They grew up on a happy farm in Illinois with their parents and assortment of farm animals. At the age of twelve, Cameron touched a dried out corn stalk and it came back to life. The brothers researched their powers online and discovered Xavier’s School. After the harvest season before their fifteenth birthday, Cameron and Kai hitchhiked to New York so they could enroll in the school and learn more about their powers. However, when they arrived, they found that the school was closed and they were definitely not prepared for the Big Apple by their visits to Chicago. Seeing as they had no money, Cameron and Kai decided to start a flower shop and get the money to do so by selling marijuana plants. But only as a last resort!
Sample RP:
(I have permission from Kai to use his words in this sample RP.)
Cameron rolled over onto his back and sighed. He had been having the same dream almost every night since he and his twin brother, Kai, had arrived in New York City four weeks ago. Cameron sat up in bed and looked around his tiny room. Most of the furniture was either broken or older than dirt. What little clothes he did have was in dirty heaps piled on the floor or hanging over the back of a chair. Quietly, he slid out of bed and glanced at the clock. It was three o’clock in the morning. Groaning slightly, Cameron slipped on a pair of dirty jeans and a pair of woolen socks. After completing this difficult task in the dark, he crept downstairs to check on his plants.
As always, his flowers greeted him warmly and then fell back into their silent slumber. But it was not these plants that Cameron needed to check on. Carefully flipping on a light, he opened the door that led to the back room of their shop. The plants inside didn’t even stir at his approach, simply ignoring him with a bitter dislike.
Stupid cannabis plants, Cameron thought begrudgingly as he exited the back room. At least they’re safe.
“I can’t believe you talked me into growing those types of plants,” came a cool voice from behind him.
Cameron turned to see his brother, Kai, leaning against the wall behind him.
“We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t have those plants,” Cameron remarked shrewdly.
“True,” Kai said simply. “But it’s still illegal. Did you have that dream again?”
Cameron ignored his brother and picked up a watering can. Each flower gave a sigh of happiness as Cameron woke and watered them.
“Oh lighten up, Cam!” Kai said as Cameron scowled. “It’s Christmas.”
“No duh,” Cameron retorted crossly as he continued to water his flowers.
“And what do we do at Christmas?” Kai asked in a giddy voice.
Cameron thought about it for a moment and the gasped. He slammed the watering can down with angry vigor and hissed:
“You want us to cut down a tree so we can put stupid ornaments on it?”
“Course not stupid!” Kai replied with a smile. “We can go to Central Park and decorate a live one.”
And with that said, Kai ran upstairs, whistling Christmas tunes and laughing all the way.
I hate winter and all its stupid traditions, Cameron thought bitterly as he once again continued to water the flowers. Everything’s dead anyway.

“Tell me, why are we doing this again?” Cameron growled as he and Kai trudged through the snow into Central Park.
“It’s Christmas!” Kai responded with a broad smile painted on his face. That and “its tradition!” were the only answer Kai would give at this time of year. Cameron “harrumphed” and gripped the box he was carrying in a better grip.
“How much farther?” Cameron whined. He then grimaced as he stepped in a huge snow bank and felt wetness on the inside of his sneakers.
Instead of a response, Kai ran forward, showering Cameron in snow, and placed the ladder he was carrying next to an eight-foot tree. When Cameron arrived at the tree, Kai was already at the top of the ladder.
As if everything was in slow motion, Cameron watched as Kai slowly placed ornament after broken ornament on empty branches. Hours seemed to pass, giving Cameron plenty of time to think. He did miss the Christmases that he and his family had back at the farm in Illinois. He sure missed his parents and the plants that grew on the farm. Everything was so peaceful there. Not like New York City at all. New York was busy, crowded, polluted and had hardly any plant life. The only sanctuary they had found was in Central Park. They had spent several nights sleeping in the trees here, until they found a vacant lot where they could live and run their flower shop.
Cameron smiled as he remembered the plants in the back room that he and Kai had sold to pay for the shop. After they had left home, it had taken a week to convince Kai that selling… that plant was the only way almost 15 year olds could make money while they were on the move. It had taken almost four weeks to get to New York. They had left right after the fall harvest, and they hadn’t gotten to New York until the middle of November.
Cameron’s mind flashed back to his parents and his eyes stung. They hadn’t known that he and Kai were mutants. They didn’t even know why they left. The only trace that Cameron and Kai had left was a scribbled note pinned to the kitchen refrigerator. Cameron felt a tear freeze on his cheek and shook his head. It wasn’t the time or the place to start crying.
Cameron hadn’t even noticed that Kai was done until he was standing in front of him brandishing a dinky little box. Fingering the seed necklace on his throat, Cameron stood up and took a small box from a pocket inside his jacket.
“I couldn’t find any wrapping paper,” Cameron muttered as he accepted the present Kai was handing him.
Kai flicked the top off of the box and gasped.
“You got me a Rolex?” Kai exclaimed. “Thanks!”
He flipped the clasp open and slid it on his wrist. He had a huge grin on his face and a twinkle in his large, green eye.
Cameron stared down at the box he held in his hands.
“Open it!” Kai prodded.
With a sigh, Cameron opened the box.
There seemed to be nothing inside of it until Kai reached in and touched a seed that was hiding in a dark corner. The seed sprouted a tiny green shoot and two small leaves.
“I know how much you miss green things in the winter.” Kai explained.
Cameron felt a spark of life as the seed sprouted. It complained about the cold, so he clutched it against his warm skin. With a sigh, the seedling fell asleep. It was the best present Kai had ever gotten him.
“Thanks,” Cameron whispered as he continued to stare at the little plant.
Kai wrapped his Rolex arm around Cameron’s shoulder and together, they walked back to their shop.
