The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Oh! She was their hero! A Knight in shining armor~ What a pleasant surprise! Bolstered by the helping hand, Ash-Lee stepped forward, but not too close. "That What?"
They watched as the two had it out, enjoying the wave of likes and dislikes floating about. She'd wanted to say some of the things she was saying for some time, hadn't she? If anything They felt like they were freeing this girl from a tyrant! Yes! Ash-Lee the revolutionary leader!
They could pull off early era military war like a champ.
A 'she' was thrown out. "I go by they/them pronouns."
Juniper got it right! Go her! She threw out some insight that gave the devil a grin. They liked this lady. You see? It really could be that easy. He, on the other hand, was having a coniption.
"It's THEY you shit bird! She doesn't even like you most of the time anyway!" He went for the door. Ash-Lee's eyes sharpened. "Oh... Seems real creepy, how you can't get out of this room from the inside without a card... Bet you feel really big when you lock someone in here."
He started cursing up a storm and throwing out some really rude barbs. Ash started to wonder how they were going to get past him, before they got an inclination. She would like to leave. She wanted to use her powers to do so. Black and gold eyes glanced over to the woman. "I thought you'd never ask."
With that, they were giggling up a fit as Juniper pulled them through the wall. The little devil did a dancing step around and stuck their tongue out at the door before spinning and looking to their new friend. "THAT was amazing! You're a treasure, Juniper, was it?" With a waggle of their eyebrows they produced the keycard, and winked, dropping it on the ground.
"Man! You already feel so much better without that terrible man hanging on you! It's like there's a weight off of your shoulders!" They took a lithe form that tiptoed about, moving their body and face expressively as they talked before spinning toward her, and placing a finger tip on their nose, considering her for a moment. "Oh... You like a lot of things, don't you? Eclectic. What do you say we, you and I, get out of here. Go have fun, and then go back to your place, and have... more fun?"
... Was she supposed to be sad that she'd just gotten dumped? ....eeeh. She didn't feel like she could muster up the energy to like, be sad or whatever right now. Sure, getting nixed from the band sucked a lot more, but she wasn't even sure if he was serious about that or just mad at her.
Her eyes popped open as her red-skinned accomplice produced the keycard. "You little sneak thief! How'd you manage that?!" She was laughing, thinking back to when they had leaned in to kiss Xander and.. oh, @#$% that brought up other things she hadn't had time to think about, too. Why did he had a VIP room that locked like that? That was exceedingly creepy. Her stomach dropped and she briefly considered going back in to... dunno, like do something more permanent to him as punishment. But, he was small-time famous in a lot of circles so she didn't exactly think she'd be able to get away with it in this case.
Her eyes snapped back to them, and she blinked herself out of her thoughts.
"Oh, uh... yeah. Juniper. What can I call you?"
And then they launched into a very weird, very uncomfortable description about how she felt and Juniper was on edge again... at least it wasn't as bad as throwing out exactly what her thoughts were?
"Um... thanks, I guess, and sure... I wouldn't mind that. Nothing else to do tonight anyway." She went to put her hands in her pockets and realized her hoodie was trapped in there with her shoes and the jerk. Dangit!
T-shirt and jeans it was. She'd just have to get over how weird it felt to have her arms exposed.
"...So," She started walking back toward the stairs, putting a little pep in her step before Xander got the bright idea t use his phone to call the club and sic security on them. "Are you like an empath or something?"
Ahh, there it was. Interesting people were always so much more... well, interesting when they weren't bogged down by oppression. They could feel her opening up to a world of possibilities already!
"I managed it, because I am very. Very good at what I do." There went that devilish smirk. Add in just the right expression, an eyelash flutter, aaaand, make everyone fall in love with you, you amazing bitch~
Juniper. 100% Juniper. They knew that already, but it was nice to get a confirmation. Then there was the question. What can I call you. What a way to say it. Polite. Modern. Considerate. It earned her a prize. "Ash-Lee." Yes, the name! The name. The name that meant I am interacting with you as me, not some made up character directly created to play into your fantasies. Why? Well, they could already tell this person would have more fun hanging out with Ash than, say... Deva, Lucien, Lysander, or any other manic pixie name they could pick from.
It was just. Ash. They smiled at her presentation of a sudden dislike. A show of discomfort. A familiar one when people were familiar with mutations. "Oh, don't worry, dear, I can't read your mind. I do, however, have a certain set of skills that make me paradise for people like you." On the way toward the exit, they held up a hand, one finger up. "One second, sweety. You there! Yes, you with the nice leather coat." They popped around a corner into a room for just a few moments, and returned with a leader jacket in hand, studded up, bearing several band patches.
"You lost your coat. I think this fits your aesthetic just fine, though." They held out the jacket toward her, It was a tad big, but they knew Juniper liked to swim. The perks of the power. On they went on their treck to the exit."Empath is a word. I find it boring. I'm more specialized, I would say... if I were to describe myself in the simplist of ways... Succubus... Incubus... Both, or anything inbetween." They turned to look back at Juniper, smiling. "You know, we could stay here... I could turn everyone here to my side, easily... Turn them all against him. Oh, but you don't like confrontation! Sorry for even suggesting it! Let's see... what's around that is fun... Oh, you know, I am peckish. There is a lovely hole in the wall that serves the best authentic Mexican food in New York! Mind you, not nearly as tasty as it is in Sanfrancisco, but what can I say, we are a thousand miles away."
It would be... akin to being swept up by a breeze. To some, it was a sort of out of body experience. What was it you were craving? They had it covered. Pay the bill? People charged for stuff? They paid in charm and pleasurable promises they may or may not keep.
For now, it was just a whole in the wall mah and pah taco shop down the street. Their newest form was tall and slender with light pink skin and a purple pixie cut, revealing their choice in clothing to be incredibly clever, as it still somehow worked no matter how they changed themselves. Picking their teeth with a toothpick, they smiled down at their now empty plate and sighed in satisfaction. "Didn't I say it was the best? Ahhhh.... You know, they say good food is better than sex? They clearly haven't been having the same sex I have, but it's a close second. Room for desert?"
Ash-lee. With a slight pause in the middle. Not like Ashly, or Ashleigh, or some other variation of the same letters smooshed together in different ways.
"Nice to meet you all official-like."
Aaaaand, then they were gone. Juniper stood there dutifully, blinking, slightly confused. She was even more confused when they came back with someone else's jacket. Which was passed to her for her to wear.
...well, okay then. She was pleased to find that it didn't smell terrible, either. A little like clove cigarette and some kind of fruity cologne. She slipped it on with little commentary. Apparently, Ash-lee could like, feel it or whatever, anyway. "Thanks."
Swim in it she did!
Her eyes popped open a bit as they explained, while she was busy trying to roll up the sleeves of her new coat so she could at least see her hands. "Woah, really? That's pretty cool." She'd heard of a succubus before, heck she'd been called a succubus before. She wasn't aware of all that title entailed, really, but whatever. The bit she did know was neat enough.
Juniper winced at the offered idea, not necessarily because of non-confrontation, but because she didn't really think Xander was worth the effort and another argument just seemed lame and exhausting. She really wasn't all that beat up about it, which... probably wasn't a good thing (she'd have to ask her Doc about that later). Thankfully they seemed to know that already, so she didn't need to shoot it down.
That whole knowing thing was going to take some getting used to...
She perked back up in a flat ass second when Mexican food was mentioned. "Sold! Let's go!"
Ash-lee was... well, fun? It was hard to place them in any one specific descriptor, but that one stuck out the most. Juniper found herself wanting to follow, asked a host of questions about what Sanfransisco had been like and shared the few things she knew that were probably just dirty word of mouth gossip.
The restauranunt was adorable and old fashioned, but as soon as the smell hit her she was in love. The Street Taco's she ordred were savory and warm, and just the perfect size for her to eat four of them without being overly full.
Sitting and eating also gave her time to actually look at Ash-lee. Juniper had seen, like.. five different forms now? Was it even five? How many aspects were similar, and did that mean they were actually changing bodies, or just altering different aspects of-
... Too much thinking. She quickly decided that it didn't matter what it was, they were neat, and she had delicious food to eat.
"Mmmm... I dunno. I mean I guess, but like don't they hit different parts of the brain or whatever? I don't think i'd compare the best food i've ever eaten with the best lay i've ever had. Like... for me those are two entirely different kinds of pleasures."
She glanced down at the remains of the last half of her fifth taco, took a moment to try and get a feel for how much room in her stomach there was, and nodded.
Looking back at her as she put on the jacket, Ash smiled a small little smile, and spoke plainly, "It looks good on you." Before heading off toward their objective.
Mission. Accomplished. Excellent food was relished. They regailed with tales that only lightly touched upon many different insane things. Mentions of feedling lions with mob bosses on the serengheti, living in a bus with 30 people in SF before indulging in a fling with a hedgefund manager and living in the lap of luxury.
She took the bait when it came to desert, and Ash's eyes drifted to the side, where a lone man with glasses sitting in the corner of the room. He was moderately tall, fairly frail, and looked like he was the nervous type. They looked back to Juniper with that same small little smile. "He likes feet... Seems fairly harmless otherwise."
A long fingernail toyed at their bottom lip as they watched Juniper to gage her reaction.
They had the most fanciful stories! It was the kinda stuff she dreamed about doing but just wasn't brave enough. Particularly that part about the fling with a sea captain out in the middle of the Atlantic, in a shark age with great whites swimming around.
"Woah."
But then the topic shifted and... it was much less interesting. Nerdy dude with a foot thing. Oh. Okay. That was... fine.
"Cool, I guess. Feet are definitely a thing that people like." She looked away from the guy, back to Ash-lee, and-
"...Oh." Juniper blinked. "Oooooh."
She'd recognize that anywhere.
The phaser looked down at her own feet, which were bare and slightly dirty, before shrugging and lifting them to plop them on the table beside her empty plate.
"Ooooh, man, my feet hurt. All that walking!" She flexed her toes a little. She'd been with people who had foot fetishes before, it wasn't new, or strange, like... at all. Some people even liked them dirty.
She stretched in her too-big jacket and tried to peek to see if the guy was looking.
...She... wasn't great at teasing. Usually being much more direct in her methods, but she also didn't exactly know what Ash-lee had planned.
Ash knew when they were hooked. It had something to do with a constant stream of likes when ever listening to anything the devil spoke. It was a nice feeling. For someone who liked to be the center of attention at all times, it was actually pretty necessary.
A perfectly groomed eyebrow lifted as Juniper misunderstood their hinting, until she did, and the expression was replaced by a small smile. "There we go, dear... Well, what do you think?"
She didn't disappoint. A devilish smile widened as she put her feet up. There was a ping. Someone liked those feet. A little, discreet giggle was followed by a small nod toward Juniper.
The man, on the other hand, was trying to do everything he could not to do more than glance... Was... That a spot of shame? Oh, what harm was it to look? No sense being ashamed in appreciating someone quietly! Ash leaned in and muttered. "He's shy..."
The leaned back as well, kicking off raised heeled shoes to let their presently petite feet join Junipers on the table. "Oh, darling, of course. You know what I could really use right about now? A Foot rub... Oh, if only someone was willing to do so..."
... except when they started crying on you, that is.
Juniper wiggled her toes as they propped their feet up on the table with her, reaching out to poke one toe into the light pink sole beside hers.
"Yeah, that'd be great. I'd take one from just about anybody. Like, literally anyone." Juniper wasn't one to play around or tease. Too much effort. If she wanted something, which was where this was leaning, she'd just go for it. As such, she was staring at the guy with half-lidded eyes, and her chin propped up in a palm.
"Hey dude!" He jumped in his seat, and hesitantly turned to face them, pointing at himself in question. "Yeah, you. You any good at foot massage?"
Meanwhile, from inside the little kitchen where the food was made, a mom and pop duo were watching the strange antics and muttering in their mother tongue. "What are they doing?" "I don't know, what are any of the people in this city doing?" ... "Next time we charge them more." "Mmmhm."
"Oh, I know, darling. I do love to open them up to the possibilities of the world." They smiled and wiggled dainty toes as she poked, letting out a little giggle as they pulled away a bit. Oh, he liked that. He was still trying not to look, but even a short glance would be able to see the tenseness about him.
Leave it to their new friend to aim to break the tension, diving in for the kill early. Ambitious. He froze for a second, pointing to himself, as if it could be anyone.
His gace turned red as she asked if he was good at massages. "O- Oh, I- I couldn't- I"
"Oh, darling, surely you could induldge us... We would owe you a favor." Gulp. There it was. When faced with a once in a lifetime opportunity, he stood at the precipice of choice. Let himself live it, guilt at them not being aware of his gratification, or walk away, and regret it forever.
They loved making people make these choices. They loved making walking away impossible. "We would be sure to... repay you."
Crossed legs uncrossed, and crossed the other way, bare foot leaning out in his direction now.
The dude was swayed. Regardless of where they were or the fact that he had bits of rice stuck to his shirt, he stood and headed over.
Massages happened, there was much blushing and heavy breathing, and.... Juniper grew bored. Bored and tired, actually. Massages were apparently great for putting her to sleep when they were in public and she couldn't like... do anything else. She didn't try to stifle her yawn as she plopped her own feet back on the ground, while Mr. Toe Tickler was over there rubbing away at Ash-lee's soles with a beet-red face and barely contained hormones.
"Bored now. What's next?"
She plucked at one of the pins on her newly acquired jacket and examined it.
