The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The second hit him in the chest and he went down for good. All that left in her immediate vicinity was the guy she'd gotten with her elbow. She turned on him a moment later, about the same time L was sitting back up.
... Huh. Still alive then? That was good. Didn't feel great having children die on her watch.
She pulled the trigger twice more, got him once in the upper chest and once in the throat. He was a goner. She emptied the rest of the chamber and tossed the gun over onto the other dying one.
By that time L had taken care of the fourth. Four shots, a little haphazard at close range but.. eh. It'd worked. She was literally on top of the last one who, to his credit, seemed to know how screwed he was by that point.
The Native stomped her way over and dropped her boot on his neck while he was struggling to keep himself from getting tased in the junk. Nuh-uh. None that. She applied quite a bit of weight, which forced him to turn from protecting his diddlybits to trying to get her foot off of him.
L's pink zappy stick found purchase and Mr. Suit couldn't even scream like he wanted to.
Moments later he was dead as well. She'd circled back around to make sure the first guy she'd gotten was a goner, picked up her ball bearing, and tucked her slingshot away.
"C'mere you #@$%in Giant @#$%head! Shoot me in the head, huh? Shoot my CLOTHES- LEGGO YOU @#$-" Elke stepped in, literally, and he opened up.
L got her zaps in. In that moment, it was all that mattered. After that was done, she stood, sniffling once before pausing to look over at her new friend, her hair long golden hair disheveled, and her ninja suit torn and beat up. She dug for his wallet quickly, and pulled out a few hundreds. "New ones on you..." She looked to Elke. "I can afford it myself, it's the thing of it, though."
She dusted herself off, and gave the deceased man one last kick before turning to grab the papers she'd dropped on the floor after being shot. She looked up as the native asked her a question.
"Yeah boo, we good... Let's light this #@$^% up and go get smoothies."
She started walking toward their exit. "You brought matches, right?"
Elke didn't care if Blondie was robbing one of the guys of all his cash or not. She could steal his shoes too for all she cared. She made no comment on it as she took one last look around the office.
The smoothie comment caught her off guard and she turned back with raised eyebrows.
"...Smoothies?" She cracked, snickering at the idea.
... Wasn't opposed to it though.
"Sure."
Elke pulled a small handheld butane torch out of her backpack and waggled it at the small blonde. "Something else."
The Native left the room, heading back they way she had come to where her abandoned gas tank was. She grabbed it and went back to the window she had come in from. She waited for L to go out first, before dousing the rest of the hallway thuroughly.
Leaving through the window herself she half-closed it, turned her little torch on, and then flung it inside. The window slammed shut right after her as they made their escape.

Miles away in a smoothie shop of L's choosing, Elke lounged back in a chair and sipped at a berry smoothie. It had been a while since she'd had one.
She was scrolling through an active feed about the large fire across town at a city officials office.
"Smoothies." The reply came immediately, and was stated as if it were a simple truth. What did you do after razing the establishment and killing some mobsters?
Smoothies.
L gave a short golf clap at the production of the butane torch. "You know, we got off on a rough foot, but I think this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership."
L reached into her tum tum and produced a business card that just had a large gold embossed L on one side, and a phone number on the other.
"Send me a text."
She followed her out, and they both ran off into the night... to end up where?
La-Bamba Juice, of course! She was drinking a Sugar Added Strawberry banana smoothie, still in her torn Ninja suit, hair still all over the place. "Berry, huh? I figured you more for a Kale and thinly veiled rage type." She didn't bother watching the news as she sipped away at her drink.
