Visible mutation: Cas appears as a ghostly, ethereal form, usually in a translucent bluish-green. But she can slightly alter her coloration so she appears as a normal human.
Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings: Several piercings in her ears. They are not actually there, but more just projections of a memory of how she last was dressed when she died.
Other features: She has a small scar on her bottom lip, a gift from her “aunt” that she still carries with her after death.
Everyday clothing style: She died in very 80s garb. Tattered denim shorts, a loose gray tank top, a black leather jacket, and black leather heeled boots.
Uniform: (Same as everyday clothing)
Sleepwear: She doesn’t sleep.
Miscellaneous clothing: She died wearing a shade of ruby lipstick that she hates. It is now stuck with her ghostly image from here on out. Fantastic.
CharacterPersonality: To put it simply, Cas is hedonistic. For thirty-five years she has not had her own physical body and is only able to experience the world through others. This has led her to not really care about the consequences of her actions. She suffered as a child, she suffered as a teen, and now is experiencing one of the most maddening things possible, being an essence with no physical sensation. Because of this, she doesn’t care about other people and only seeks pleasure that she herself can experience. However, the only way she can do this is through others and that often leads to trouble. But it’s trouble for them, not her, as Cas can easily remove herself from a host and move on to another.
Cas only cares about Cas. She knows her situation is crappy and she doesn’t know how long it will last. This uncertainty and distaste for her predicament has resulted in some mood swings. She prefers to do whatever possible to keep herself happy and distracted from whatever crushes existential crisis she is dealing with. This also makes her distrustful of others and not prone to having many friends but there are a couple that manage to sneak under her armor, so long as they don’t stop her from living it up like it’s 1989.
Hobbies/ Interests:- Cooking
- Singing
- Dancing
- Bartending
- Poetry
Job or part time job and description: No real job. When she possesses people, she’ll usually put the money or valuables into a cache that she returns to whenever she has to possess a body and is low on cash. But for the most part, she doesn’t need to work. She does run messages for the Syndicate, finding at least some daily purpose in that. But she can take or leave the work if she chooses.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Ironically she fears death. She once was in possession of a body who was shot. While disoriented and attached to them, she felt both his and her life ebbing out. In a panic she abandoned the body and flew fast and hard as her spirit would go. She doesn’t know what’s on the other end of the tunnel so she tries to stay away from dangerous circumstances unless she knows that she has an out.
Special talents: She is actually a skilled poet. Before her life started to go down the hill, her teachers in school would say that she was a proficient poet and had high hopes she would be in books. She still writes from time to time, when she possesses bodies and has free time. Where she stashes those, only she knows.
MoralityGood/ bad/ neutral/ other: Neutral-bad. She really doesn’t care. So long as she gets what she wants, she doesn’t care how badly she has ruined a person’s life.
MutationsMutation description: Ghost Possession. In the simplest terms, Cas is a ghost. She has a spectral body that she uses to inhabit the bodies of other people and can control them. While she is in possession of a host body, she experiences everything that they feel, taste, and smell. This also allows her to have complete control of their bodies, granting her the abilities to walk, run, fight, and f***. When she is done with her host, she exits their body’s and moves on to seek another host to continue the party.
In more detailed terms, Cas is a leftover astral projection from her mind. Her mutation allowed her to push out her consciousness into the astral plane. From there she could insert herself into another person’s body, overwrite their own consciousness and assume control of the body. However, in 1985, her own body died in a freak building fire, leaving her without a body to call her own. While she can possess others, it only lasts for a limited amount of time before she is forced to vacate.
Strengths:- Incorporeal: That’s the gist of it. Cas is a ghost. Nothing can really keep her out. She can walk through walls, through people, she can’t be harmed or wounded, and cannot be contained. That makes her quite the terrifying sight to behold.
- Possession: The other main aspect of her ability is that she can possess other people. Now she does have limits to this but she can possess most any living man or woman. The weaker the will or the easier it is for her to assume control. Once she takes root, it is hard for her to be kicked out as the person she is possessing will usually have no recollection of what is going on, unless she allows them into the backseat. When Cas has had her fill, she can easily detach herself from the host and move on to another.
- Full Sensation: When possessing a body, Cas can feel and do everything that they can physically do. Eat, drink, laugh, etc., but it goes beyond that. If they are strong, she is strong. If they are fast, she is fast. If they have amazing eyesight, she has amazing eyesight. But this goes doubly for mutants. If she takes control of a mutant’s body, she does have some access to their abilities, though she may not be as skilled at using them.
- Floating Specter: Without a body she is able to move much faster, floating anywhere from a few inches to several feet off the ground. She moves quickly, able to keep up with a bicycle but, sadly, that being the max. Still, she is unimpeded by physical barriers and can be anywhere and everywhere.
Weaknesses and Limitations:- Incorporeal: When outside of a body, she cannot interact with the physical world. If she tries to pick up something, her hands will phase through it. She cannot open a door, pick up a coin, or fend off anything physically. It’s maddening wandering freely around a world you cannot interact with.
- Possession Worthy: As it stands, Cas is only able to possess men and women. Children (15 and under) and animals seemingly have just enough of a different chemical make-up that she cannot take possession of them. If she tries, she just passes through them. The same goes for those individuals with a high degree of mental training or discipline (i.e. spies, military personal, academics). Depending on the range of their skill, Cas can either be unable to possess them, or only possess them for a few seconds before their consciousness wakes up and kicks her out.
- Psychics and Adapteds: The second that Cas gets a whiff that her target falls into one of these categories, she bounces. Psychic mutants are extremely resilient and are hard to control. Depending on their level, she can possess them or not, but even if she does, it’s a struggle to maintain control of them. Adapteds on the other hand, are impossible. Depending on their range, she cannot even get close enough to possess them. It’s like running head first into a brick wall. She is deflected and left in a world of pain.
- Time Limits: At the end of the day, she cannot hold on to one body forever. That is the maddening part of her whole ordeal. The longest she can possess a person is 24 hours and even before that time is up, she can feel the strain of keeping them under her control. And once she takes control of a person, she cannot control them again for at least a week. Their consciousness grows a temporary immunity to hers and must wear off before she can take them again. Of course Cas doesn’t normally stick around to try again and, even if she were, by then they would be in some sort of trouble she doesn’t want any part of anymore.
Physical AbilitiesGeneral Physical Capabilities: She's a ghost. She has the flexibility, strength, speed, etc, of whomever it is that she is possessing at the time.
Fighting Style: When she possesses someone, she doesn't develop their fighting talents. All she knows how to do is punch and kick as hard as possible. And, if that fails, she flees to a new body.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Pros: She takes on the strength and speed of her host
Cons: She has no real training and doesn't absorb the training of her host. So she can easily be outmatched.
History Of Your CharacterCasey never had much of an exciting life...and that was a big problem for her as she got older. Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Bobby and Lucy Babilon (a bouncer and cocktail waitress respectively), Casey was introduced to poverty early on in life. Her parents were not the best sort of people, often fighting in her early years until they got a divorce when she was 7 years old. She still saw both of her parents but the split up hit her mother hard, forcing her to work three jobs just to keep them going. It was a hard life and one that taught Casey a very powerful lesson -- the only one you can depend on is yourself.
When Casey was 13, things came to a head. Her father was killed by his new wife when he caught her cheating, and when news hit her mother about what happened (
they still loved one another to a certain degree) she didn’t take it well. The stress of what had become of her life drove Lucy to be institutionalized, leaving Casey to live with close friends of her mothers.
Rather than continue to list her woes, she would sum things up by saying that her teen years were none the better. For a number of reasons she decided that she could take her chances out on the streets. At 16 she left her “aunt’s” house and took to the road. It was while she was struggling to find her path that she discovered she was a mutant.
After turning down the wrong alley, Casey found herself in a wrong part of town. While being cornered by a particularly bad individual, Casey screamed in panic and her vision suddenly shifted. She saw her attacker, grinning maliciously. She saw herself, falling limp onto the ground with eyes white and pupils unseen. And, looking down she realized that she could see herself again, though her own vision, floating above. She was a ghost! Or, at least some mental projection of one. Panic swept through has she screamed, trying to move back into her own body but found herself sucked into a different one all together.
When her vision cleared, she found herself standing, looking over her unconscious body. She could feel the odd rhythm of her heart and the heaviness of her body. She realized that she wasn’t in her own body, but in that of her attacker’s! She was a mutant! Though this was probably the most traumatic way to find out, once she calmed down, she realized that this certainly had its benefits.
The years passed and Casey used her odd gift to get everything that she wanted. She was never lacking money because it was simply a matter of projecting out of her body and inhabiting another. She could cheat, steal, rob, and she would never be the one to be caught. She learned the ups and downs of her ability and used it to make her way across the U.S. before she finally settled in New York City.
She had eyes to make it to the top levels of New York Society, stealing from the best, when tragedy happened. After inhabiting the body of a guard for some swanky highrise, tragedy would befall her real body when a fiery explosion tore through the building. She left the guard’s body behind and flew in search of her own -- but it was too late. A blinding explosion later and all Casey saw was darkness afterward.
Unsure as to why, when Casey’s vision cleared she saw it was because debris was being moved. The fire department and rescue team was still digging through the building when they finally found her body. Casey had been there with it, floating in nothingness, assured that this was her afterlife. Turns out that she was correct, just not in the way that she imagined.
Casey has been living her life as, for all purposes, a ghost. With no body of her own to return to, she floats aimlessly through the world, unable to touch to affect anything when not in a body. She counts her blessings that she is able to do so and uses this method to take the sting out of her non-existence. But it is only a balm for a much larger problem. The years have rolled by, she isn’t aging, she can’t be hurt, but she can’t affect other people either. Unsure of how long this is going to last, Casey started to grow hopeless...until she found purpose with a mutant organization: the Syndicate.
Though it isn’t nearly as satisfying as an actual life, Casey is finding some sense of meaning with the criminal organization, running messages for them, being anywhere and everywhere at the same time. The leader, a Ms. Jayda Cervantes says they’re working on a way to help her. She’s not holding out hope but, stranger things have clearly happened.

Sample RP:Cronuts. These were rad. She could see what the rage was all about a few years ago. The idea that someone could just
create a new pastry in her lifetime (
>.> sorry) was astonishing. It was no wonder that people were going crazy for them. They were soft, fluffy, and they tasted so absolutely fantastic that she wanted to grab another one. As a matter of fact, she started to reach for the flaky treat coated in powdered sugar when the alarm began to sound on a nearby phone.
Turning, she pouted as she reached over, tapping the screen with a meaty, thick, hairy finger.
”Oh poo. Time’s nearly up.” She sighed as she picked up another cronut from the package and took a bite. As she bit into it, brushing the powdered sugar from her thick black mustache, she shook her head as that familiar sensation began to run up the length of her spine.
The reflection in the window caught her eye. There, staring back at her, was a thick, rotund, meatball of a man with a thick, greasy mustache, a balding head, and wearing a uniform that said “Dandy’s Ronuts”. It took a few seconds before the groggy, still asleep voice whispered in the back of her mind.
”W...Wha...t’s...happening…” a husky voice asked.
Casey, speaking in a voice that reflected the husky one, answered but in a lighter, more pepped up tone.
”Hey...Jose,” she said, her eyes peering at the name tag on his shirt.
”Don’t worry. I’m almost done here.” She took another bite of the cronut, shaking more crumbs off the mustache.
”I just had to try one of these cronuts! Totally fly.””Who...a-are you? Where are you?” Jose was continuing to stare into reflection and slightly jumped when his mouth moved but he wasn’t responding.
”Well, Jose, thing is that I’m currently possessing your body. Or, rather, I have been possessing your body for the last 24 hours hours. We had quite the party! Sadly not a lot of action for your fat *** but we still had a fun night drinkin’ and plunderin’! Oof! That bank teller. Don’t think anyone has ever slapped her so hard.”Jose gulped. He tasted powdered cronut in his mouth.
”W-What…?””But don’t worry! I’m dropping you off exactly where I picked you up! At the Dandy’s Ronuts you work at.” The phone on the counter dinged as the remaining time turned to seconds.
”And thanks for cleaning out the register the other night. I really needed to store the extra cash. You take care, okay?””Wait? Cash?!” Jose turned groggily, noting that he was indeed in his donut shop, only the register seemed to be pried open, broken off its hinges.
The voice, Cas, didn’t seem to hear his fears and left with a whispered.
”You take care...dweeb.”Giggling there appeared from Jose’s body a phatasmal young woman with dark skin, an afro, and wearing very dated clothing. She winked, stuck her tongue out at Jose, before she turned and floated through the broken glass window. There, across the parking lot, Jose could see the approaching red and blue lights of squad cars -- obviously responding to the silent alarm triggered by the broken register.
Casey didn’t stay to see anything that occurred. Instead she whistled to herself as she sighed, wishing she could still taste the cronut in her mouth. Hrm, maybe she’d get another one when she found a new body. But she didn’t want to indulge too much. She had work to do after all so she floated off, phasing through a building wall and in search of a new target.
