The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Oh no, that one hit a little too close to home. Juni could take barbs and sass easily, but truths were... difficult. '
"I.... I do, actually." She had a few of those and it was a constant struggle trying to settle on what to do and how to feel with the inevitable knowledge that at some point in the next few years she would have to move again. It didn't matter how much she liked Blue, or April, or how well she got alone with Adonis and his stupidly shiny smile. She definitely knew that feeling of just wanting things to stay the same for as long as possible. "I totally get that feeling. Different reason, but... same feeling I think."
She shifted in her chair as Cora changed the subject. "Well, I mean he was totally intending to take it out for a Joy ride, but we got caught and now I have to skulk around the school avoiding as many of the problematic teachers as I can." She paused, "It was totally his idea, no matter what he says, by the way!" If a grin could carry on her words, it was right then and there.
"Maybe at some point there will be a joyride...fly? Joyfly 2.0. Party in the sky or something." She shrugged again and polished off the last of her bun.
She chortled at the visual image of Cora strangling some poor customer. "If that's what ya want." She set her empty wrapper on the table. "Just give me a bit of warning so that I can be out of range before you go on a rampage, kay?" She was clearly joking. She hoped that translated well.
The question seemed to hit a nerve of some type. Not that Juniper was angry, just more thoughtful than she sounded before. Cora listened politely, and nodded to herself. It was, sorta nice, in a way. Having someone who at least didn't tell her she was insane for what she was feeling. She felt a little insane today. Her mind was trying to tape itself back together after drowning in whisky. The results were the current conversation: feelings, awkwardness.
And joy rides.
"Avoiding teachers sounds...fun. Advantage of my powers, I guess. Just make them forget you exist for an hour, you'll be good! Clearly, you needed one more person on your jet party for proper escape," Cora teased. She fished around in the dark and found her second bun, chomping into it. She chewed in silence while Juniper commented on avoiding her rampage.
Hmm. "Generally speaking, I think the rule is not to bite the hand that feeds you. Food does make this more...bearable. So, thanks."
Food seemed to be helping, and that was great. Juniper genuinely liked the woman and her blunt ways, so seeing her suffering caused very conflicting feelings. She made a mental note to keep snacks on hand at all times in order to test and see if food would calm the slightly terrifying woman in other ways as well.
"You know... you're right. If there's gonna be more Jet shenanigans it should totally be more than two people." She pulled her phone out to check the time and the light from her screen illuminated the wide grin that had overtaken her features. She looked like the cat who caught the canary. "You should come next time! Especially if we need to make a hasty exit again, riiiight?"
Around that time Scout decided to poke his head in, blinked at the darkness, and flipped on the lights.
"The heck are you both doing in here in the dark?"
Juniper hissed at him and threw her arms up dramatically to cover her face.
"Juni, you're five minutes past when you were supposed to be on the floor."
Oh @#$%!
"Ah! Sorry!" She hustled out of her seat and slid past him in the doorway.
Juniper disappeared like a deer running from a wolf. Or, a bunny running from a hawk. Cora shot Scout a look from her spot at the table, and her manager glared right back. After a moment, he finally switched off the light.
"I won't ask, just get out here before too long," he finally relented.
Relieved, Cora went back to the table and her attempts to fight off her hangover. Before long the food had kicked in enough she was able to sulk out to work, and was planted in one of the equipment stations to sanitize belts and prepare for customers. Here she didn't have to deal with people, which seemed to be the goal. They made it through the day with no serious incidents, and Cora was in a better move when she finally returned to the break room and took the familiar seat at the table.
Someone else walked in and she opened one eye a crack. "Hey Juni. Scout didn't razz you too bad, did he?" she muttered, shutting her eyes again.
She reminded herself to never be late to a shift ever again, as she trudged back toward the breakroom to clock out and collect her stuff.
That man could be just as terrifying as Cora could. Not only had he put her through the paces hard today, but she had also been pretty much on call for every spill, mess, or throw up that could possibly exist in the kiddie zone.
She shuddered as she trudged into the break room, paused when she saw Cora sitting there again, and continued in with a soft groan.
"Remind me to never piss him off ever again. I'm pretty sure he's shaved off a few years of my life."
She flopped into an open chair and sighed. When she had started this job she thought it would be super easy. A cakewalk. She had been so very wrong.
It was run by sadists, she'd bet that on her life. Which would probably be cut quite short if she ever uttered that in Cora's presence out loud.
"Feeling better?" She asked, while sneaking her phone out to check her social media.
