The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Did she judge anyone for not having finished high school? She hadn’t. Technically. Maybe she needed one of them GEDs, herself.
Garlic fries were even better than regular fries. Even with the dragon breath. It wasn’t as if she would be kissing any other girls that day. She grinned at Juniper, and her comment. Then, her mind drifted to the girl she had kissed.
Adelynn. Mmm. That would be something she would have to follow up on. The relationship showed promise. Even if it was dangerous enough to have gotten them kicked out of the Milkshake Monarch at the Mall.
Chocolate and girls. Did Adelynn like chocolate? What kind of ice cream had she had? She could not recall. Head a bit foggy. Maybe she should have licked the ice cream drop off her nose to find out. Sensory memory was better than... all of that. Regular. Decaf.
Heh. Decaffeinated memory. Who would want that?
Nose-licking was kind of weird. Nose-kissing, that was far better.
Eventually, her hand found another shot. Down, it went.
Amelia chuckled at Juniper’s comment about chocolates, parties, and girls. “Yep. I found a real cute one today... funny enough. Kind of a vampire.” She held up two fingers in front of her mouth, like fangs, made a ‘grr’ sound, then laughed again. “Only she sucks batteries, not blood. And face—“
Amelia blushed and went for yet another shot. What was in this? Making her run her mouth?!
“We got expunged from the mall food court for PDA,” she blathered. “Got her number, though.” She smiled.
—
Juniper got some them fries.
Suggested they share a ride. Amelia’s brow crinkled.
“Hmm. Cab. Dunno any cab company numbers...” she got out her phone. Frowned down at it. “Wish there was an app that just let me dial up a cabbie. On my phone. Which does not have the capability to just call one already. Hrm. Maybe I need to chill on the drinking.”
"Oooooh, can't say I've ever done that." She blinked, paused while fiddling with an empty shot glass in her hands. "The, uh, getting kicked out part. Definitely done the PDA, and in a mall, but squirreled away enough to not be seeeen." She giggled unashamedly. Couldn't remember the names of various faces she'd done the PDA with, but she could definitely remember the places. Fricken changing rooms were a bit awkward when old ladies next door could hear the giggling.
Juniper frowned back at her when the cab number thing was brought up, but for a different reason. "But, like... don't they??" She'd used apps before. Was she using the wrong one the whole time? Or just a different one? Was there some obscure cap app she didn't know about??
She ended up squinting at her own phone, scrolling through her various apps and games looking for the few she knew were on there, even if to just prove to her delirious drunken brain she wasn't making it all up.
Meanwhile, she munched on fries to counter all of the copious alcohol currently in her stomach. "goood, these are so good. But like, in the way that they are probably only this good when you're wasted. Good drunk food." All of the carbs!
"I don't think I've ever met a battery vampire before. Like... Rayovacula... or... Count Duracell... heh." Made her suddenly think of sexy vampire costumes around Halloween being mixed with a battery. A sexy battery with wings, or a cape. Huh.
"Gonna just drown that out with a shot..." She muttered and tipped another one back.
Amelia was somehow impressed with juniper for her squirrelly deeds. She giggled, too!
“Have to remember that. The squirreling. Squirreling.” She repeated the word, with some slurring and odd emphasis, like some sort of Russian spy lady.
Wasn’t there a drink called a White Russian? They should have one! Her mind bounced around like a ball in a pinball machine. Before she smacked it with the requirement to do actual thinking and made the machine Tilt.
Squirrelly deeds, done dirt cheap. The classic rock song rattled along in the back of her pinball mind.
Cabs. Apps. Cabbapps. Cabbages. Wait, they did have apps? Did she need to poke around in her cell phone for such a thing?
Juniper scrolled. Amelia ate and contemplated.
Good drunk food. “Good drunk food for moose and sqvuirrel.” She agreed. Pointed to juniper when she said squirrel. Looked like juni has earned a nickname. At least until her drunken ass forgot.
More fries. More grease. More carbs. “Vitamin G.” She commented. “Grease.”
Useful for hangovers, too. Which she’d certainly learn soon enough. Woe be to her if she did not.
Juniper the squirrel talked about vampires rayovacula, and Amelia chimed in “I fought zombies one time. With a shotgun. How I discovered I had powers. Knocked my girlfriend out of the way of a moooving car.” She faked a hand shoving gesture. With both hands.
It was good juniper had not shared the countess Duracell image, or else playboy energizer bunnies would have bounced around merrily in Amelia’s head. And nobody wanted that.
“No vampires, though. But wasn’t there a living building and a guy in the sewers...?” The memory was there and gone, like a ghost. A ghost of memories from beyond her current age and timeline, that wanted to haunt the here the now from the future to the past. The days of futures, past. Heh!
She missed the shot on the first grab and had to try for it again before she could drink it down. More fries fries fries, yeah yeah.
“Countess Duracell is badass.” She chuckled. “Maybe Adelynn needs a nickname... and a cape.” Heh. Whoops. She found the mental image on her own. She quickly buried it with images of the App Store and fab apps on her phone. Fab apps. Cab apps.
