The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Freeze! Drop the chemicals no wait don’t! (Evelyn)
They practiced for a while, and she improved. Amelia didn’t notice as the protection started to weaken in places. She had gotten good enough at deflecting the energy, that what she didn’t absorb was mild enough not to be worth noting.
It was a visible thing when Evelyn ran out of gas. Amelia had babysat a lot of children, and she knew the signs.
“We, should get you to bed Missy.” She nodded. “Before I have to pick you up and carry you there myself.”
She had done that, too. Kids can be too cute. Of course, for the somewhat grownup acting Evelyn, such a thing would have been beyond embarrassing. Probably not the best thing to tell a girl who had been throwing knives at you. But Amelia had been smiling when she’d made the comment. Hopefully, Evelyn got that she had been teasing her.
The practice had been very enlightening. Amelia understood her hoodie power a bit more, now. It was an element of protection, but not to an overwhelming degree. Common sense was still needed. Amelia would have to be smart.
Idly, she wondered if her clothing poses could also let her shift aim off course and disarm foes if she were fast enough. But that was for another day.

Mati
Evelyn wanted to be an adult and deny the fact she was sleepy. Of course she wasn't sleepy. Her eyelids were just heavy, and her legs were just heavy, and she wanted to sit down. Yup, that was all. "I guess...I can head to bed..." She set the sai down and wandered in the direction of the door. The nice thing about having echoes was the ability to walk with your eyes shut and not risk hitting something. The echoes knew where she was going. Sleepwalking could be insanely accurate if she wanted it to be.
"Thanks, for training with me." Thanks were important. She wasn't big on manners, but she knew that was essential if she wanted to continue getting to do cool things.
"Maybe next time we can set fire to something...or play with chemicals. Kevlar is fun." She was muttering to herself and wasn't sure if it was her or Ami that opened the door. [Open door] When she was into the hallway, she wandered in the direction of her bed without waiting to see if Ami followed. She made it there before she crashed onto the covers, and was out before she even had a chance to change.

Kevlar... something about that resonated, but... nope. It was gone again, like that.
“For sure.” Amelia agreed. “I will keep tinkering with figuring out how I do what I do.”
With the bulletproof (theoretically) and sai-resistant (for sure) weaves. And all of that.
She followed Evelyn to her room, making certain she got there. As she went, she contemplated what she could do with her powers... and how much she could customize. She was going to need more clothes.
