April didn't think about powers that much, she hadn't even thought to ask about what Shelby's were, but whenever she was staring into a pretty persons eyes she couldn't help but wonder how telepathic people saw the world. What the internal dialogue for a quirky girl like Shelby looked like, she suspected it was probably very erratic and interesting. That would've been a very interesting power to have, to be sure.

April was very pleased that Shelby was similarly eager, even more so that in her peripheral vision that the driver seemed to be just letting them get on with it. She supposed again, he could have worse customers in his car. Cabbies probably came across all sorts of interesting passengers, two frisky woman couldn't be that bad.

Her own hands wandered, in a more practised and teasing manor she chuckled. "You're doin' just fine honey. I don't mind taking the lead and showing you a thing or two, but maybe we should save some for later, huh?~"

She was getting a little heated, especially with those wandering hands. By the time April pulled back she was flushed and panting just a bit, and all shy smiles.

"Suppose you're right. Don't wanna run out of the fun stuff in a stuffy old cab."

Their driver grunted. Shelby had the decency to squeak an apology and he went right back to ignoring them.

Since the artist wasn't sure how long of a drive it would be, so she shuffled her bag into her lap and wiggled her drawing pad out and her pen.

"At the very least we can pass the time in style." She chuckled, snuggling into April's embrace as she uncapped her pen. "Give me a subject. Anything at all."

Given what she had learned about her power in the last few days, she felt that an innocent little trick like this would certainly spice things up and maybe earn some brownie points. She started edging out a rough frame around the page.

April was always highly amused when someone put their foot in their mouth. Shelby certainly wasn't a prickly personality, given how much she apologised whenever she managed to trip herself up like she just had with the cab driver. It was so totally adorable. April liked people with all sorts of personalities, she certainly didn't mind people with cold exteriors, or people that could be nasty. Some of them were freaking amazing in bed. But she did prefer soft people like Shelby, if she was being totally honest.

She grinned at the girl as she floundered a little, her fingers softly drawing circles in the other girl's knee.

"Hm. A topic." She hummed. What did she like to think about? Warmth. Fire. People. "What about a campfire, or a fireplace?~" She suggested.

Something with fire. Got it.

She started blocking out a few shapes that would turn into a cozy looking log cabin, with a stone built fireplace and a comfy looking fluffy rug in front. After the initial scene was blocked out she added in a few quick details here and there. A roaring fire settled behind a vintage screen, pillows to lounge on, the whole works. She peppered in what looked like snow falling past a window on one side, and called it quits.

"Well, what do you think?"

Her eyes twinkled mischievously in the dim light, suggesting that she possibly had something up her sleeve.

Amused, April turned to look out the window for a moment while Shelby immediately started drawing. She glanced back after not too long and while she couldn't see the whole drawing from her position it looked like it was already pretty well formed and detailed. Damn, she wasn't just good. She was fast too. April liked this girl, and more than just wanting to have some fun with her she found her fun and interesting. 

Observing she did a double take. Whoa. "Wow! You're so talented, that looks so cosy~" She purred. April liked fires, snuggling up by them was super fun. And she could stoke them if they needed it.

She fished a few colored markers from her bag just to give the work a little more depth and make it extra cozy for when she needed it. "Thanks, landscaped and still lifes aren't my strongest area, but I get by."

With a little color she added into her picture, she tucked her pen and markers away again. She kept her drawing out.

"When we get to your place I have something else to show you, too. I think you'll like it." Most people would, she assumed. She wriggled in closer and reached out to snag the hand that was tracing circles on her knee. She brought it up to her lips to kiss April's knuckles affectionately.

April grinned when Shelby explained it. She thought she understood most of what Shelby was saying, April liked and appreciated art, even if she wasn't a person that showed much talent in it whatsoever. "Are you kidding? It's great!" She really did mean that.

She watched over Shelby's shoulder now as she added some colour to the picture. Girls with talent were so hot.

April quirked an eyebrow at Shelby. "Oh really? I thought I'd show you a few things too~" She purred. Grinning when Shelby kissed her fingers she looked up as the cab pulled up to the block her apartment building was on. She thanked him and jumped out, holding a hand out to help Shelby out. "Shall we?"

Her cheeks were hot again as they climbed out of the cab. Having a beautiful woman insinuate wonderful things to her was heaven, really. Just the distraction she had needed from the bout of existential dread she had come down with.

"Lead the way, babe." She chuckled, and it only sounded a tiny bit nervous. There were butterflies trapped behind her ribs, fluttering wings incessantly tickling her.

She clutched her book to her chest as they walked, keeping a firm grasp of April's hand with the other.

She'd really gotten lucky here, hadn't she?

April grinned again, resisting the urge to shake her head in amusement, how that she was being led into April's home Shelby seemed to have found some nerves again, it was adorable but she wouldn't tease her or anything about it. That'd just make it worse, and she while she was playful she didn't like people feeling uncomfortable about anything, and it was easy for people that were not used to the topic getting awkward about sleeping with strangers.

She led Shelby gently into the building and towards the elevator, shooting her a soft smile. "It's okay, don't be nervous. I'll take good care of you." She purred, as the elevator doors opened. Empty. Awesome.

Shelby shot a smile at April and giggled. "Not terribly nervous, really... excited and... butterflies."

She shifted a little closer to bump shoulders with the girl. "I've been in one real relationship, and it's only been a few years since I found out I was into girls." Thinking back on the experience had it was minimal, but god. Olivia hadn't had any complaints and neither had she.

"I'm looking forward to learning a bunch of new things." She glanced at her drawing pad. "And maybe showing you a few things too."

Butterflies, cute. April led Shelby into the elevator and punched the button for one of the higher floors, biting her lower lip a little and eyeing Shelby. "Butterflies?~" She shifted positions so she could slip an arm around Shelby's waist and lean against the elevator wall as the doors closed and they started to rise throughout the building.

"Awwww. That's sweet." she purred. So Shelby was definitely not kidding when she said inexperienced. April would teach her a few things in that case for sure.

April wasn't sure what Shelby was referring to, it certainly couldn't be a bedroom experience? Shelby had no idea how experienced April was, even if April wasn't quite as experienced as she'd let on. "I would love to be shown something new~"

Her face heated up at little with the light teasing, but it was fine. She rather enjoyed it. She had to physically restrain herself from trying anything in the damned elevator though, what with April pulling her in like that.

She also kept her lips tightly sealed about her secret, just praying that it wouldn't startly the woman too much and kill the mood. She thought it was personally very romantic. She'd have to do things like this more often in the future, if it went over well.

"Ah, man... if you make me blush anymore i'm gonna pass out from the pressure in my head alone." The artist chuckled, watching the numbers change. Eventually they made up to her floor, and Shelby allowed herself to be pulled along as she glanced around. "It's funny how style wise this city isn't all that different from Seattle."[/color] The fluttering grew more intense the closer they got.

"It also helps that I am not remotely as drunk as the last time I did this with a girl." Wait, was that taboo to bring up? "I'm looking forward to being able to remember everything this time." Foot, welcome to mouth. She clammed up a little.

April chuckled as Shelby was clearly flailing a little in the literal and metaphorical heat in the elevator, she leaned against the pink haired girl a little more, leaning her head on Shelby's shoulder and enjoying the warmth an the closeness that the elevator brought. "So this little surprise you have for me, is it something I'd be able to guess?"

She burst out laughing before planting a kiss on Shelby's cheek. "Don't worry babe, if you pass out I'll take care of you~ I'm trained~" She purred. It was technically true. She had both medical corpsman training and had a little certificate in her apartment conveying her EMT license.

"Hmm. I don't think I've ever been to Seattle. Though I suppose I could have been in the 8 years." She mused. "Is it as fun as this city? Are there as many cuties?~"

She snorted and gently caressed Shelby's arm. "You don't need to be nervous, seriously you're doing fine. Trust me." She said without the teasing edge to her voice, it was more soft and reassuring.

"Hm... I think you could try, but I don't know if you'd be able to peg it easily." The artist grinned, nuzzling her cheek into April's hair a little as she was leaned on.

"Seattle is pretty great. Lots of support and free love and what not, even with the tensions going on. Er, or that they had going on." It was till pretty hard to wrap her head around the fact that she had pretty much time traveled, even if only in a vague sense.

"And oh my are the people beautiful... a little pretentious, but totally gorgeous." She flipped a few pages back in her pad to a sketch of Olivia. Deep red feathers, highlights of green, blue, and gold. Her feathers sat where hair usually would, fluffing backwards in elegant swoops. Her face was all sharp angles, accented id laugh.

She glanced at April with a smirk on her lips. "I think you would fit right in there, to be honest."

April chuckled at little as Shelby nuzzled into her hair, there was something really innocent and sweet about Shelby that she found very intriguing. Assuming the cutie was cool with it, she'd definitely keep up with her after tonight. Even if they didn't get to fool around much, April liked her style and personality a little too much to lose touch. "Well it's definitely nothing bedroom related, I've seen it all, and you're not all that experienced." She winked. "Something art related and cool? Oooh, I've not done art stuff in the bedroom, is it kinky?~" She purred.

April nodded in a mild understanding. "Yeah, I get you. That's good though, one of the nice discoveries I've made is how much people have progressed in those areas~ All the cute gay and bi girls are much more comfortable being out and hit on." She eyed Shelby with a slightly sultry appraisal.

"Ooooooh! You right about the gorgeous thing~" April purred.

"Honey, I fit in everywhere, I'm just too beautiful to ignore." She boasted, leaning her head on Shelby a little before the ding of the elevator interrupted them.

"Mmmm, come into my parlor cutie~" She started leading Shelby to her apartment.
