The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ice sculptures and April do not go well together. (Steph)
Girls with mystery. Oh, if April only knew. Still, that was the fun of mystery, right? Gaining benefit from the shady aspects of her life that made her an enigma. Steph liked to believe that.
April was a good muse for the shot, staying still and holding the right pose, leading to quality shots. Impromptu photos were fun and a great way to see a person in a new light, but most people were not experienced in being photographed. There was an art to the subtle ways a model could improve a photo. April might not be a model, but she did well enough for the photo to look great.
With that task out of the way, they could return to April making it clear she knew were they were taking this conversation. ”A game? I hadn’t even noticed,” she teased, appreciating how easily April closed the gap. ”But if I am hypothetically winning, maybe I can cash in with dinner ton—“
“Excuse me, Miss Stephanie?”
Stephanie closed her eyes. What timing. ”Just Stephanie, Wendy,” she replied to the redhead approaching with a stroller. ”Is everything okay?”
“Yep!” the babysitter replied cheerfully. “A lot of giggling at snowflakes and confusion when she felt one hit the tip of her nose.”
Stephanie smirked. ”Objectively adorable and very Malia.”
After checking to make sure her daughter was still in one-hundred percent condition, Stephanie looked back at April and did her best to smile. This was going to come up, and she had to hope it would not scare off the cutie she was chatting with. ”Sorry, manners. April, this is Wendy, my babysitter, and this,” she spoke while lifting a baby into her arms, ”is Malia, my daughter.”

April quirked an amused eyebrow at Stephanie's comment. "Oh is that so beautiful?" She purred, thoughts flitting to getting to know Stephanie over a nice hot meal, somewhere nice and cozy, out of the biting chill and snow. Her eyebrow raised further and was preparing her very intrigued forward response when they were interrupted by another woman.
The first thing she noticed, the interrupter had a small child. The second thing she noticed was that the woman (likely a baby sitter) was also cute. So sue her, she found cuteness in most people she came across.
April stood back a little and gave Stephanie space to fuss over what appeared to be her daughter. She slowly developed a massive grin. She stood with her arms crossed, legs crossing a tiny bit as she gave them some space, amused at the whole scene.
"Hiya Wendy-" April chirped almost absentmindedly as her attention was on Stephanie and the adorable little thing in her arms. "She. Is. Adorable." April punctuated each word, her voice's pitch raising slightly. She leaned forwards a little, not too close. She didn't want too overstep any boundaries, make Stephanie or more importantly the little one uncomfortable. "Hello Malia~ I like your outfit~" She cooed.
This was a precarious moment, even if April was unaware of the implications. When it came to flirting, Stephanie might mention her daughter, but the men and women she charmed rarely met her bundle of joy. If they were uncomfortable about Stephanie being a mother, she could understand; some people were not ready for kids. It was funny though, because that always implied they thought Steph might see them as a long-term prospect and she was just not in the market for that.
April showed Malia the proper adoration, which pleased the infant. Steph smiled, but she was cautious; girls who were put-off by kids were one thing. Bringing someone into Malia’s life was more perilous when Stephanie knew she was not looking to keep someone around. She did not want to get into the habit of letting Malia grow attached to men and women she saw as temporary.
Steph still smirked as April fawned over Malia and Wendy gave the mother an upate. “So she loves the snow, but she was getting fussy. I think she might be hungry. Oh, and she did the thing.”
”The thing?” Almost as if taking her cue, light radiated from Malia’s skin. This was mostly covered, but her face shone through. ”Ah. The thing.” Yep, there was no way to effectively convince a baby to conceal her powers, so Steph had to live with that.
Malia was momentarily pacified by her mother’s affection, but she did need to eat. ”I think maybe it’s time to head back, then. Get this cutie a snack,” she decided, handing Malia back to Wendy who would get her settled in despite her whining. ”Get her ready if she’s willing to behave. I have to finish something up with my friend here.”
“Yes, Mi—er, Stephanie.” With a nod, Wendy stepped away to return Malia to her stroller.
With time of the essence, Stephanie returned her attention to the pretty blonde and tried to power through the revelation of her mutant daughter. Taking a small notebook from her purse, Stephanie scribbled down a restaurant name and an address. ”So. Since duty calls, what do ya say? Tonight at eight? My treat?” She tore out the page and extended it as an offering.

April rarely ever though of what it would be like to have family that she was directly responsible for. She was the second youngest, and by the time her and Danny were living together apparently both of them were already in their twenties and she's already been through a lot of probably life changing experiences, and now that she was back to 21, he was older than her. Which she still couldn't wrap her head around. He was still the same person, he just had all of these subtle differences that made her a little uncomfortable around him.
Beyond that, the longest relationship she'd held that she could even remember had been little more than a few weeks, and she was careful where the risk of kids was presented, very careful. Not just because it was this whole thing to deal with on it's own before the kid was even there, but because it implied a level of shared commitment to another person that she honestly might never be ready for.
All that being said, April loved kids. She loved moms too, especially cute ones that had their priorities straight. Stephanie seemed to.
"Oh.. That's expected." She blinked. Mutant kid huh? That must've brought it's whole own set of problems along with it. She was glad she'd manifested as a teenager, things had been a little less open back then anyway so if she'd shown her powers as a kid there may have been more prejudice afloat.
April stood back and let Stephanie deal with her daughter and babysitter. She wore an amused smile and quirked brow when Stephanie turned back.
"Sounds like my idea of a good time. How pretty should I make myself for you?" Oh she did love a woman that could be forward. It was helpful to have an idea of dress codes before you turned up at a place for a date though.
April did not view Malia’s mutation with disgust, which was promising. Stephanie might not have been looking for a girlfriend, but she also had no interest in sleeping with a bigot. Anti-mutant sentiment was not as rampant on this side of the now-closed rift, but Stephanie was still careful with who she shared Malia’s mutant heritage with. Malia had no concept of control, making it difficult to be cautious, but Steph was still trying.
Despite the appearance of a child, April was not scared off by the prospect of a dinner date. Good; Stephanie could use a night of interacting with another adult.
”Wait, you get prettier than this?” Stephanie smirked, keeping her hands at her hips. ”Well heck, I might be screwed.” It was not a disingenuous comment; April was gorgeous, and seeing her dolled up would be a welcome sight.
Handing over the paper with the details, Steph was glad she picked some place on the higher end. ”Well, get nice and dressed up. I’m in the mood to treat a gorgeous woman tonight, and it looks like you’re gonna help me do just that.”
Starting toward Malia and Wendy, Stephanie offered a final wave of farewell. ”It was nice meeting you, April!. See you tonight?” One last chance to back out before it would officially be considered ghosting.

There was this little part of April's brain that would rather keep things platonic with Stephanie, work out more about the other woman. There was something alluring about the little flashes of personality she'd shown and the blonde could honestly use more friends in the city. Friends at all really, she did not remember any of her apparent friends.
But... She was so pretty. "You're gonna find out." April raised an eyebrow, not checking the paper or daring to take her eyes off of Stephanie just yet. Screwed? "Bit presumptuous, see how the evening goes first shall we?~" She teased.
"Oh I will. Not every day you get to go out somewhere nice with a gorgeous woman, gotta make a lil' occasion out of it." April would have to scour her closest for the perfect thing to wear. One of the fun benefits of having worked and lived here forever and being de-aged was the sudden windfall of gorgeous outfits she had access to, but had no memory of.
"See you there, bells on!" April'd not been on a date in forever, most of her recent hookups had been far more spur of the moment. This would be good for her.
