Character's real name: Amy Sutherland
Codename: None
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Nationality/Ethnicity: American Caucasian
Birthplace: New York
Personality: Although Amy may seem cold on the surface it is only her way of coping with the rejection of her family. She is very confident in herself and prefers not to take chances with other people. When forced to she takes to a leadership role very easily. She is also morally ambiguous. She would never kill, but has no problem taking people to be killed. Deep down she knows that she is a loving person which is why she will take in the occasional stray mutant. She doesn’t talk much often making her seem withdrawn, but really she is watching. Thousands of possibilities race through her head as one part of her brain analyses everything around her. It’s the reason she always knows what she’s doing in a fight and why she always wins at chess. Once she had escaped the School she never tried to find anything about it as apart from the drugging, she didn’t begrudge her time there. She had learnt so many invaluable skills as well as a new career. She does sometimes wonder if they are still looking for her though.
Notes (hobbies, phobias, worries, ect.): Only where her next job is coming from.
Side (good, bad, or neutral): Who ever pays the most
Everyday clothing: Amy’s regular attire is a battered knee-length black leather coat, black boots, dark blue jeans, a deep purple top and grey fingerless gloves. She always wears a pair of streamlined sunglasses to cover her eyes even indoors and at night. Around her neck is a sliver chain with a green pendent. The pendent is in fact green tiger’s eye, which is extremely rare. It is a memento of one of her first jobs. The woman who hired her didn’t have enough money to pay Amy so she gave her the necklace instead. The brown leather belt she wears around her middle usually has a knife attached to it round the back as she hates guns even though she knows how to use practically every model in existence.

Description of ability(ies): Her incredibly heightened senses make tracking very easy and her aim perfect. They almost border on ESP. She is very agile and much stronger then she looks. She can definitely handle herself in a fight. Her balance is faultless and she is highly intelligent. Being trained for combat enables her to mostly get the better of her opponents, but she is sure that one day she will meet someone who is superior to her.
Because she didn’t know she was a mutant before she was picked up by the School she believes she was made into one from their experiments. As her mutation was so small she has very little potential to mutate further. It’s possible that her senses could improve, but without outside intervention, this is unlikely.
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): Unfortunately she is still vulnerable. She has no healing powers, but her agility means that mostly she can avoid being hurt.
Fighting style (if any): Army type training, but has incorporated martial arts moves in aswell.
History of your character: Amy grew up with people constantly arguing around her. If it wasn’t her parents it was her older brother by 5 years. From this Amy retreated into herself from very early on. She never really had any friends, but did well as school none the less. When she was 8 her parents finally divorced. Amy never cried once over this, but her mother did. After 2 years of morning over her husband Dianne found herself another man. She quickly married and for a time everything got better, but it quickly deteriorated. Steven was a heavy drinker and would often come home drunk. He would beat Dianne and Adam, but Amy somehow always dodged his attacks. To cope Dianne became addicted to Valium and Adam would get himself into trouble. He quickly fell in with the wrong crowd and after 3 years of drugs and petty crime he tried to rob a convenience store. He was arrested and put into jail.
Meanwhile the arguments had started again at home. Amy would spend most of her time in her room or out in the streets. Apart from her ability to evade Steven’s punches she didn’t think herself anything special. She mostly put it down to fact that he was drunk and she wasn’t. She still attended school, but her time there was becoming less and less. When she was confronted with this fact she just shrugged it off. She had always found the work far too easy.
When her brother had been put into jail this was the last straw for her mother and tried to commit suicide. Luckily Amy had found her in time and called the ambulance. She was now14 and while her mother was recovering she told her of her decision to move out. Dianne tried to talk her out of it, but Amy’s mind was set. The next day she packed her things while a torrent of abuse came from Steven. He even threw a few things at her, all of which missed. She left the house feeling like a lead weight had been lifted off of her shoulders.
She considered asking her dad from a room, but quickly decided against it. She hadn’t seen him in 6 years so she went to a youth hostel. It was during her time there that she was approached by a woman. She offered Amy $50,000 if she would consent to do some scientific tests. Amy accepted and was flown to a maximum security base which more resembled a school then anything else. She had no idea where it was as no one would tell her and although she felt a little apprehensive they put her up in a very nice room and fed her very well. She found that every night she fell asleep very quickly and always woke up with a sore arm. She put it down to sleeping funny and kept on waiting for the tests to begin. She would spend the days under the tutelage of what seemed to her like a personal trainer while also learning about tracking and how to use certain weapons. She often wondered why none of this seemed odd to her, but she was getting paid for it and there were many other people her age there as well who didn’t think it was odd. She had now been going to the school for 5 years, but something felt wrong.
One day while she was in her room she found a rolled up piece of paper in her own handwriting that said “There are drugs in the food.” She didn’t know what to think, but after looking around her room more she found 5 other bits of paper that said the same. That evening she didn’t eat her food, but made it look like she did. She was awoken in the night by two men coming into her room and putting her on a stretcher. She pretended to be asleep, but stole glances of where they were going. As it happens, they took her down to the basement and strapped her into a chair. She could hear voices all around her, but dare not open her eyes. She found that she could actually hear quite a lot. Everything in fact from the voices of, what she could only guess to be doctors right down to the heartbeat of one of the men who had brought her there. Not only could she hear it all, but also distinguish each and every sound. She then heard something she was not too keen on, the sound of someone preparing a syringe. Just as someone was about to inject her she jumped up from the chair, easily breaking the straps that held her and escaped from the base, not without a fight of course.
That night she was chased endlessly into the surrounding woods and only avoided detection by moving across the treetops instead of the ground. It was only the next morning when she fully realized what had been going on. She also noticed her new appearance and abilities. Her eyes were no longer brown, but green and slit-like like a cat. Her K9’s had become much more pronounced giving her an almost vampiric look and she was much stronger then her body would ever reveal.
She put her survival skills to the test while always keeping on the move as she was sure she was being looked for. During this time she came to the conclusion that the base had been conducting experiments on humans. Probably injecting them with mutated DNA while teaching them to be soldiers and drugging them so they can’t really think for themselves. Now there would be an army to contend with. As time went on she remembered more and more of what they had been doing to her while everything they had taught her had become second nature.
She ventured into a nearby city and found herself to be in Canada. She slipped on some sunglasses, which she had swiftly lifted from a stand, to hide her eyes and waited till nightfall. It was on this night when she was scrounging about for food that she came across a man. He seemed agitated and asked her for some money. She said she didn’t have any, but he persued his questions eventually becoming violent. She quickly overpowered him and began questioning him. She had no idea why, but put it down to her training. She discovered that he had a bounty on his head and was trying to escape. She knocked him unconscious and took him to claim his bounty. In doing so she set herself up as Sphinx, a free-lance bounty hunter, and was hired by the group she took him to. By the time she was 20 she had claimed hundreds of bounties and eventually left the group now that she had enough money to set herself up. She has been doing it ever since.
