The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character's real name: Lenad Tursowe Codename/Alias: Pharaoh
Gender: Male Age: 17 Nationality/Ethnicity: British/Dutch/Egyptian/Scottish (looks British/Scottish) Birthplace: Egypt Personality: Silent and a bit reclusive. He likes to be with people and will socialize, but too much and he tries to distant himself. He has a solid presence, but may seem a bit cold at first. It's only until you get to know him that you find that he just likes to think a lot and his face tenses when he does that. He's a nice guy, but for those who've seen him mad, they'll say he has the temper of a god. Notes (Hobbies, Phobias, Worries, ect.): Practices sword arts everyday for exercise. Likes to help the chefs cook meals occasional as it's one thing that keeps him from thinking constantly. Does not like deep water as the fact that you can't see the bottom to know what's there scares him, it also has something to do with his power, but it's more subconscious than anything. Fears being alone and likes to surround himself with people, even if he's not sitting with them. Otherwise he turns on the radio or TV for noise.
Allegiance (Good, Bad, or Neutral): Neutral
Everyday clothing: Often a pair of slacks or khakis with a nice button-down shirt left untucked. Uniform (Optional. Required if eventually becoming part of the X-Men): He wraps his body in bandages akin to mummies, but wears a pair of cloth pants and ornamental Egyptian jewelry over that. On his head he wears a mask similar to the ones that were put over the heads of the mummies of the pharaohs. Pajamas: Boxers and a wife beater.
Hair color and style: Lengthy brown with slight blonde highlights, all combed back Eye color: Blue gold Height: 6'0" Build: Average. Muscular, but not body-builder. Somewhat broad.
Scars: None Tattoos: An eye of Horus in an upside-down pyramid on his left shoulder Piercings: None
Description of ability(ies): The ability to generate and control sand. Has always been afraid of using his powers and what might happen if he lost control, so he hasn't quite reached his full potential. For now, he can shoot balls of sand and shoot pressurized streams of it. Has the slight ability to control it from distance, but all he can don now is hold someone's foot down. Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): Water turns the sand to mud making it heavier and a lot harder for him to control. Helps with the balls of sand, but he has a hard time launching them. If he himself is soaked, he feels a bit heavier and can't generate any sand. He might if he just had more control over his abilities. Fighting style (if any): Uses a scimitar and something akin to an Egyptian martial art taught to him by a friend of his parents while one of their excavations. Incorporates his power over sand where he can.
History of your character: The son of a wealthy British archaeologist and an Egyptian archivist. Lenad was born on one of his parent's digs in Egypt. Since then he has been home schooled by his parents, several mentors and teachers, and his parent's close friend Rashidi. It was Rashidi who first witnessed Lenad use his powers when he was ten. Since then it has been Rashidi who has coached him through his mutation and encouraged him to learn full control. Rashidi was the one who taught him the Egyptian martial art so that he may protect himself from anti-mutant activists and learn self-control.
While helping the diggers one day there happened to be a collapse in one of the tunnels, forcing Lenad to use his powers to save the people within. He reshaped the sand and formed a tunnel for those trapped to get out. After having to talk to parents about his power, Rashidi discussed the idea of sending Lenad to a school he had heard about. Rashidi had felt that Lenad had showed that he had barely tapped the extent of his powers and further training was required. After having time to deal with this new fact, his parents found that they accepted the fact that their son was a mutant and encouraged him to embrace his gift. For that reason they agreed with Rashidi and are sending him to get training.
Sample RP: Lenad readjusted the pack slung over his shoulder. Having just taken a six hour plane trip from Egypt to London and another eight and a half hour trip from London to New York. A grand total of about 15 hours of flight time. Plus the rather abrupt people through customs check-in.
“I’m going to be feeling that jetlag for the next week,” he thought as he followed the signs pointing to baggage claim. He had been to America before, but that had been with his parents for an exhibition of some of their findings. Now he was all alone with nothing but a phone number and an address. If things went to plan, he would grab his two duffle bags, find a taxi, and hopefully he would be able to take him to the school.
He didn’t know much about the school. Rashidi had told him a bit about it and that it was a school for mutants, but that was about it. He had googled it when he got the chance, but that didn’t tell him anything more than Rashidi had told him.
“Baggage from Flight 257 now coming through. Repeat, Flight 257.” The announcement for his flight just was called through the intercoms as he reached the baggage claim area. Within seconds he spotted his dusty bags with the bright pink stickers, something his mother had insisted on so he would easily find his bags. Grabbing them, he made his way to the security check.
For all their rather abrupt and rude attitudes, they were rather fast. It wasn’t long before he was placing his bags on the belt and walking through the metal detector. When he got through though, he noticed a rather big man finger waving him over to a table with his bags on it.
“Welcome to New York City. I’m sorry but is it alright if I look through your bags?” Before he could even reply, the man was digging through his bags, messing up his neatly folded clothes and rustling through his personal belongings. First the man pulled out a gold necklace of Egyptian origin given to him by his mother. Shrugging, he carelessly tossed it back in the bag. After a few more seconds he pulled out a knife, also of Egyptian origin, given to him by his father. “And what might this be?”
“That would be a knife from ancient Egyptian times.”
“Right…I’m going to have to call this in.” Going over to a phone, the man called someone and detailed the knife and looking at Lenad, Lenad guessed he was giving a small profile too. Eventually he came back over. “You’re not supposed to have this, but since it’s that old and looks fragile, we’re going to let you keep it. We’ve let worse stuff through before. Head down that corridor and you’re done.”
“Thanks.” Lenad zipped his bags back up and hurried out of there. Hopefully they wouldn’t change their minds and come running after him. Luckily when he got out the doors, there was a free taxi waiting. Quickly he jumped in and gave the driver the address.
“Hmm, oh it’s that place.” And quietly under his breath he added, “Damn mutant,” before pulling out and driving away towards the school.

I actually came up with the idea for this character a while before I really discovered Garaa. It was an idea I got from watching The Mummy, but Garaa sure helped my inspiration for Pharaoh.
