The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Fishy
Honestly this was a pretty big step for Dante, but he'd never really admit. Hell, he was actually still looking for only one thing, except now it was likely going to take a second date.
And again, she was smiling, but this time, unknowingly, he smiled back. A genuine, albeit unconscious smile. "Yeah...it really has. Maybe we can do this again sometime," he said with a slight twinkle in his eye as the smile dropped back to his normal neutral expression.
He leaned back against the couch, propping his feet up on the crate again as he rested his arms behind his head and thought a moment. That really was nice, though he didn't like the warm, fuzzy, fluttery feeling that gave his stomach. It was weird.

He was actually, really smiling at her, even if it didn't last long. And he wanted to do this again? Zoe's smile widened slightly. Today had gone so much better than she ever would have thought.”I'd really like to do this again,” Zoe said happily.
Then she glanced around, wondering how to make this work. After the sprinkler incident, she was probably going to have to stick her cell in some rice overnight, Zoe realized. Then she caught sight of a black marker sitting on the crate Dante had in place of a table.
Grabbing the marker, Zoe turned back to Dante, grabbing his hand. Then she treated writing on his hand. ”Here's my number,” Zoe said, looking up at Dante's face once she was done writing. ”As long as my phone still works after your little show earlier, give me a call so I know when to expect you and Duke.”
"Hey, anything is possible," he said with a smirk and a shrug.
And then she was grabbing his hand, and a marker?!? She wrote her number on his hand...that, he could say had never happened before. At least not to him. It was....kind of neat. "Oh, your phone should be fine. Happened to mine dozens of times, and it still works," he said with a slight chuckle.
"I'll be sure to give you a call," he said, standing to his feet as he held his hand to her. He was at least going to show her the door before she left. And once he led her there, he stopped and looked up at her. "You have a good night, okay? This was fun." Then he leaned in and let his lips meet hers again, still slow, but still as passionate a good bye as any.
When Dante said that his phone had gotten wet like that numerous times, and was fine, Zoe looked up at him in surprise at first. That surprise faded quickly, though. ”Knowing you, you probably have done things like that quite often, haven't you?” She asked, simply curious about it.
Then he was saying that he would give her a call, as he stood and held his hand out to her. Again, a touch of surprise as she took Dante's hand and stood beside him. But there was also a happy smile on her face as they walked to the door. He actually wanted to see her again, despite the fact that she obviously hadn't wanted to move as quickly as he had.
”It was fun,” Zoe agreed softly as she stood and looked at Dante mere inches away from her. But before she was able to say anything else, Dante was leaning in to kiss her. Eyes sliding closed, Zoe's hand lifted to rest against his cheek as she returned his kiss.
This had ended up being a damn good ending to her day.
She looked rather surprised at his comment, though that itself wasn't quite surprising; they had just met earlier that afternoon after all. But just as quickly as it appeared, the look of surprise faded, and he gave a chuckle at her question. "Heh, well...I've done a few things like that, yeah. Some places consider it smoking, other places are more forgiving. Still others recognize it as a mutation and don't seem to know what to say," he replied. She was slowly going to catch on that he was a rebel, who liked testing the boundaries of certain rules.
Hell, he was considering testing his own 'don't call back' rule, though that rule was soon going to be nonexistent if he kept things up. For it not having ended the way he wanted, it was a damn goodnight kiss. As he pulled back, he opened the door for her, giving her a light smack on the butt for good(or bad) measure as he made his way back to the couch.
Somehow, it didn't surprise Zoe when Dante explained that he had done stuff like the little show in the Indian restaurant before. But, at least from how it sounded, it didn't seem like he had gotten into too much actual trouble over it before. Though Dante definitely had a lot more fun with his mutation than she ever had.
And the kiss… If this is what he was giving her when she believed he was disappointed that they hadn't had sex, Zoe couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if they had.
Now she definitely couldn't wait for Dante to call.
But the kiss had to end, it was just a goodbye kiss after all, and Dante was opening the door for her. And she was starting to step through the door, Zoe felt Dante slap her on the butt.
Simultaneously, Zoe blinked, jumped, and turned beet red. But as she turned to look at Dante, she couldn't see him as the door swung closed. That had been just as unexpected as everything else that day.
