The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Agent Gage had a target in mind. Normally when Akshay was sent out, he was sent out to track down mutants that had been a danger to society; they had done something to warrant being tracked. But this was different. Apparently Nolan had “met someone” and wanted to get more information from her. Of course he would add his own, personal touch, later, but for the meantime, all he wanted was general whereabouts; that was what Akshay was for.
Admittedly, Akshay felt like he was being used more for running an errand than anything else. From the description that he had of the woman, it really just seemed like she was a good fighter, nothing too extraordinary. But Nolan confirmed that she was a mutant and, not only that, matched the description of a member of the X-Men. That, of course, changed things considerable. The X-Men were a group to be, essentially, ignored so long as they weren’t causing mass destruction, but they needed to be policed and watched as well. Now that they had a bead on one of the actual members (possibly) they needed to learn more.
Admittedly, from what he read about the X-Man Combatant, Akshay was a little intrigued by her. Her fighting prowess was supposed to be quite legendary. SUPER had been after her for years, since she was younger, before he even joined SUPER, and yet she always managed to get away. SUPER wanted to know how her powers worked, if it could be replicated, something to pass onto the rest of their agents to make them truly well-rounded when out on the field. In Akshay’s opinion, it was a pipe dream – but he was never one to defy orders.
It took the team several weeks but they finally were able to triangulate a series of locations that could be identified a Combatant’s “hunting grounds”. There were several portions of the city where she had been spotted, where criminals were found beaten to a bloody pulp, and so forth, and while they couldn’t narrow down her exact path, it was enough to start the investigation.
This district had been known as “the bad part of town” for awhile now. It was a favorite for drug dealers, gun runners, and various other nefarious activities. However, what normally wasn’t known about this place was that it had a particularly popular gay club known as The Ruby Slipper. Akshay, on occasion, as attended said club, picked up a bedmate or two for a night before returning home to his husband the next day. On this particular night, though, intel had come through that there was going to be a notorious gunrunner in attendance. It was exactly the kind of scene that would attract a certain female ninja with anger issues.
Getting in was easy, as was weaving throughout the crowd. As Akshay moved, dressed in a nice pair of dark jeans, a black shirt that hugged his physique, and a maroon jacket, his dancing shoes clicked along the smooth floor. Smoothing his hair back, away from his eyes, he attempted to drown out the sounds of the pulsating music and ignored the hungry eyes that turned in his direction. There would be time later; for now, he was on the hunt.
Agnes hated clubbing. It just wasn’t her scene. A big reason for that was because of how much “touching” was required. People moving, shaking, grinding against one another. Because of her mutation, that meant she didn’t have a lot of purpose being there. She couldn’t enjoy herself, the music was always too loud, so, really, it just wasn’t for her. However, on occasion, there is reason for Agnes to step out of her comfort zone and try to engage. It helped that the reasoning was due to the fact that an arms dealing needed to have his lights punched out.
X-Men had gotten wind that Antonio Selano was going to be at the Ruby Slipper. He was an eccentric man, one who made no attempts to hide his sexuality. While it seemed like it would earn him disrespect in a criminal world soaked in machismo, Antonio had quickly quelled those ill-conceived thoughts the second a judgmental gun-runner’s daughter was found, skinned like a potato. People made sure that they didn’t speak against Mr. Selano again.
Such a man didn’t deserve the ability to keep walking, hell, he didn’t deserve the ability of speech. That was why Combatant had volunteered for the mission herself. She took particular pleasure in knocking guys like this down as many pegs as possible and he certainly needed to be knocked down many pegs; even if it meant that she needed to go “clubbing”.
The Ruby Slipper was in the shadiest part of town and yet it managed to maintain a high popularity. Maybe it was because of the dangerous surroundings, maybe it just had music and drink that were just that good, either way it was certainly not the type of place that one would expect to thrive in this environment. And yet, here it was, ostentatious, bright and colorful like a peacock, with a musical call that reverberated through one’s teeth.
Agnes wasn’t having the best of times.
She was dressed as she expected most club goers to be dressed. The jeans that she wore were hip-hugging, revealing every curve she possessed and the black midriff she had only displayed both cleavage and her firm stomach. The large earrings that dangled from her ears reflected the lights of the club and jangled every time she walked and her heeled boots clicked and clacked, mixing in with the sound. Her make-up, done to perfection, Agnes strolled through the club looking ready to dance but the glower upon her face was enough to deter most.
“Hey sweetie…” a redhead whispered next to her. “Wanna—”
”Go away.” She growled. Taking a sip of her drink, she listened to the dejected redhead slink away and turned her stormy eyes back onto the dancefloor. Antonio was a known dancer and so it would only be a matter of time.

The music pulsated around him so hard that he could hardly hear himself think. Still, despite that, he was able to look past it and into the crowd of faces in the club. So far everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, dancing, drinking, sharing longing looks. For the most part it didn’t seem as if anyone was out of the ordinary. However, to Akshay, things looked very different. The second he walked into the club, he saw nothing but a din of dull gray ghosts. As the seconds ticked on, there came blazes of orange lights in the crowd – there were mutants here.
Akshay winced as one passed too close to him, the fiery orange burning into his eyes. His eyes followed the individual with the glowing aura and realized it was a man with a line of tattoos around the neck. The two exchanged a look as the tattooed man grinned, winked, and practically beckoned the agent to follow. He didn’t; instead he pressed on, further into the club.
There weren’t a lot of mutants here, but those that were lit up like roman candles in his world. Over the years he had grown to ignore the blazing lights, to get used to them so that they didn’t burn as much as they did; but it always hurt some – every time. Closing his eyes, he shook his head as he moved on, checking each of those lights for signs of the woman matching the description he had been given by Agent Gage. So far…nothing.
Korean, dark hair, stormy eyes, so far none of the people in the club seemed to match that description. Maybe the intel was wrong, or maybe this wasn’t the night that Combatant was going to make her move. It wouldn’t be the first time that intel guessed wrong. Akshay was only going to allow himself another few minutes before he called it a night but, just as he passed by the bar, he heard the gruff sounds of someone grumbling...
>>”Go away.”
He raised his eyes. Turning back to the bar, he saw that bright orange of light indicating that there was a mutant there. Peering through the light, he spied the woman with the dark hair and the resting b*tch face – honestly who else could it be? Just observing her from this distance, he could see that she was definitely hiding something. Pretty, well-dressed, but definitely someone who looked as if she didn’t care for attention. With a smirk, Akshay stepped up to the bar, a few spaces down from her and just craned his ears as he listened.
With the dejected redhead out of the way, Agnes returned her gaze to the rest of the bar. So far she saw no signs of Antonio and nothing that looked all that suspicious; pity because she wanted nothing more than to get out of here. As much as he enjoyed the prospect of kicking the living crap out of someone, the club was proving to be rather annoying. The way that people danced, shot glances from across the room, or boldly approached her, it was as if every single one of them was looking to push her buttons at the exact same time.
But she was here for a reason and she needed to keep reminding herself of that little fact. Tucking it away in her mind, Agnes remembered that she was here because this was a mission. Someone needed to be taught a lesson, someone had to be stopped from hurting innocent people and she was the only one around to do it. So, keeping that thought in her mind, she sighed and pushed through the annoyances.
Resting her back against the bar, she picked up the glass of water that she had ordered for herself and took a sip of the cool and refreshing liquid. Her eyes roamed around the entire scene, taking in everyone who passed by, everyone who looked the smallest bit suspicious. She had only the vaguest description of what Antonio looked like, but she knew that he was supposed to be here tonight – she just needed to be patient.
With a sigh, she took another sip, holding the glass between her hands and ignoring the looks of the individuals who wandered past. Some of them gave her appraising looks and at least one or two more tried to approach her. A stern look quickly diffused any thoughts they may have had of bringing the curvaceous warrior onto the dancefloor, much less for a romp between the sheets.
Another sip of her water and she turned her head just in time to see someone extremely important looking make his way in from a back room. He was tall, with black clothing and several gold chains around his neck. The upturn of his hair and the five o’clock shadow was all Agnes needed to now that this was her quarry. Thankfully it looked as if she didn’t have to wait long. Her eyes trailed him as he moved onto the dance floor, grinning as he joined another man, younger and with a firm body. The two of them began to dance, the older clearly in the lead.
”Antionio…” he grumbled between her lips.
Another sip of her water and Agnes slowly pushed off the bar. She needed to get out there, to get close to him, but first she needed someone to dance with, someone who wouldn’t get too handsy. She turned her gaze down the bar and spied another man there, this one of dark skin and wild hair. He was in a gay bar so it was a safe assumption that he was here looking for another man. That should be safe enough – she hoped. But, just in case, she moved a few spaces down, still keeping Antonio in her sights.
Once she was within ear shot, she shot him a forced, but pleasant smile. ”Um…Hi…” She took a second. She really didn't have time to play coy. "You're gay, right?"
She could already head the collective groan of her teammates in her head. Subtlety in social settings was surprisingly not her strong suit.

Akshay was certain that he did nothing to draw attention to himself. He had looked at his target, of course, but it had only been for a moment, nothing that should have been able to draw suspicion. After he glanced at her, he moved away and leaned against the bar, ordering beer for himself. As he leaned forward on the counter, he kept his eyes on the counter, not needing to look at the woman to know that she was there. However, after a few moments he felt a shift in movement. He didn’t turn his head but instead could see the pillar of orange light creeping closer and closer to him from the side.
Dammit, how was his cover already blown? Did the X-Man have abilities that he didn’t know about? That Agent Gage didn’t know about? His jaw tightened as he slowly began to turn his wrist, causing one of his hidden blades to start wriggling down the sleeve of his arm. He didn’t want there to be a scene but if he had to defend himself, he was going to make sure he drew first blood.
Closer and closer she edged, he kept his eyes down, his lips pressed against the opening to his bottle of alcohol. He held his breath, waiting for her to get close enough for him to draw blood and then lock onto as far away a mutant as he could and zip out of there. But, as she edged closer, it wasn’t her fists that flew at him – but rather her words.
>>”Um…Hi…You’re gay, right?”
He blinked. Startled for a moment, Akshay just stared at the countertop dumbfounded. After a second of this, he lifted his gaze and turned to the woman again. She was bright and luminescent but Akshay focused through the light to actually look at her. She wasn’t trying to attack him, she wasn’t condemning him, actually she looked as if she were truly curious. Given their setting and the fact that he was here, Akshay could do nothing but…smile.
”Umm….heh…y-yeah…?” he replied, his voice suspicious. ”So…I’m afraid you are barking up the wrong tree.”
Though Agnes was amazing at blending into a crowd, in most situations, when it came to others, the young woman tended to be a little bit too…blunt. Anyone else in this situation would have known better than to ask the man that question. Not because the answer should have been obvious (you never know) but because there are easier ways to get to the answer that don’t involve barreling through the most uncomfortable language barriers ever.
She still had a lot to learn and, even as her question hung in the air and seemingly knocked the man into surprise, she still didn’t feel like there was anything wrong. Instead her eyes had turned back up to the dancefloor where Antonio seemed to be having a hell of a fun time with his younger quarry. She felt her nose twitch, trying to keep herself calm and knowing that she needed to get out there and engage the man so that she wouldn’t lose him. However, dancing alone wasn’t an option as anyone could get close. That was why she needed a partner.
Remembering that that was exactly what she had been trying to get, she turned her attention back to the dark-haired man and gave him a soft (for her) smile. Why was he taking so long to answer? Did he not know the answer to the question?
>> ”Umm….heh…y-yeah…? SOo …I’m afraid you are barking up the wrong tree.”
She paused, staring at him, letting his words bounce around in her head for a moment. What was he talking about, “barking up the wrong tree”? It took a second but, when it hit her, she sighed, closing her eyes, feeling rather embarrassed. Chewing on her bottom lip, she shook her head as she grumbled wordlessly under her breath before she leaned against the bar and gave the man another sweet, but embarrassed smile.
”Oh…I…I’m sorry. That’s not what I meant…” she tried to explain. She then gestured to the dance floor. ”I’m just…you know…wanted to dance and you looked a little lonely. Trust me, you’re not my ideal either. Far less boobs than I normally like,” she gave him her most winning smile. ”It’s cool if not. I was just…curious…”

Akshay could still feel his heart racing. He had no idea what was going on, or why the younger woman approached him, initially. Really it must have been some kind of kismet because out of everyone in the bar, it was him that she chose to approach. Really, he never has this kind of luck. People run or ignore him, or immediately believe the worst; Combatant here was actually talking to him and, not only that, was trying to get in some more personal time with him. Honestly he probably should have wondered why but it didn’t seem necessary to poke the bear right now.
She asked if he was gay and he gave her a fairly straightforward answer; yes and that he wasn’t interested if she were trying to get him in line for something more physical. Truth was it wouldn’t have been so far-fetched. He had gone to gay bars before and there had been women who had one too many drinks and tried to bring him back into the heterosexual fold. Though Combatant didn’t fit that profile, he figured that, at most, she could take it as a joke and just laugh it off.
>> ”Oh…I…I’m sorry. That’s not what I meant…I’m just…you know…wanted to dance and you looked a little lonely. Trust me, you’re not my ideal either. Far less boobs than I normally like…It’s cool if not. I was just…curious…”
Akshay turned and leaned against the bar. There was a smirk on his lips but it wasn’t the smirk that was connected with anything really good. However it was delivered with such subtlety that unless someone was actively looking for any sign that things could go wrong, they would miss it. Combatant wouldn’t catch onto this as Akshay just continued to smile sweetly at her.
”Honestly, honey, that’s not the worst way I’ve ever been asked to go dancin’,” he said with a chuckle. However, he nodded his head as he gestured towards the dance floor. ”Why not? I’ve been stationary far too long.” He smiled warmly as he stuck his hand out towards the woman. ”Name’s Dev.”
After realizing her mistake, Agnes tried to laugh it off as little more than a mistake on her part. She didn’t want to lose her chance to get out there where to quarry was, but she also wanted to crawl into a hole after she replayed the look that that man gave her, over and over and over again. Really, now that she played it back to herself, she couldn’t have sounded more foolish. Even his little jab back at her was justified because, really, how else could she have sounded when she asked that?
>> ”Honestly, honey, that’s not the worst way I’ve ever been asked to go dancin’,”
She blushed a little as she looked back down to the ground. He was sweet to try and make her feel less guilty about fouling up what she had asked him. Everyone would have told her to just be straightforward, to ask if he wanted to dance and leave the matter at that. But Agnes always either over analyzed, or under analyzed. She needed to, especially in a fight because it allowed her to prepare for most outcomes. But it was clear that that was not how a normal situation should be handled. Asking someone to dance was a normal situation and she almost fouled it up.
Agnes was already working on a plan B. She wouldn’t have blamed the man for wanting to just walk away from her right then and there. Clearly she had caused enough trouble so why take up his time any further. But, just as she resolved to turn away and apology, she was met by the man as he turned to face her, giving her a kindly smile. Thank goodness she didn’t mess that up too bad.
>>”Why not? I’ve been stationary far too long…Name’s Malik.”
Woot! She had a dance partner! Drats, of course he wanted to shake her hand. Looking down at her hand, she bite her lip for a brief second as she contemplated how to proceed. She could shake it, however brief, but feared how much of a distraction it would cause. But if she just said no, she could lose her chance at the floor. Chewing on her lip, she improvised as she reached out to take it, but not before wincing, retracting her hand and rubbing her eye.
”Oh jeez! Sorry. Dust particle, I think,” she lied. She then started towards the dance floor. ”My names Abigail. Come on, Mr. Dev…” she said as a particularly energetic song came on. ”This is my favorite.”

Akshay held his hand out, ready to shake the other’s hand. However, just as he stuck his hand out the woman seemed to wince rather spastically and reached up to rub one of her eyes. Akshay recoiled, leaning back as he watched the woman with a perplexed expression upon his face. This wouldn’t last as the young woman quickly finished wiping her eye, apologized, and then offered him a rather brilliant smile. She really was quite pretty, almost to the point where he couldn’t believe the stories that Agent Gage had been telling him about her. This was the warrior of the X-Men?
It seemed unbelievable to Aksahy that this was Combatant, the mutant who always managed to leave a trail of broken, bleeding bodies in her wake. This woman seemed so…awkward and unsure of herself. Of course it could have all been an act and, if she were here on business, then that certainly seemed a possibility. Still, he wasn’t going to push his luck. He would play along, just so that he could get close enough tag. Gage only wanted there to be observation but it was something he needed to try.
>> ”Oh jeez! Sorry. Dust particle, I think…My names Abigail. Come on, Mr. Dev…This is my favorite.”
His eyebrow arched. Dust particle? Really he had never seen anyone react in that manner to just dust. But, again, the last thing he wanted to do was push her so he just gave her a sweet smile and nodded his head. Stepping away from the bar, Akshay sighed as he took another sip of his beer. Normally Akshay liked to make it out to these clubs to dance, flirt, have a good time before heading back home to his husband; but this was purely for business. Also, he couldn’t remember the last time he had danced with a woman.
Shrugging the thought aside, Akshay moved out onto the dance floor with “Abigail”, listening to the song that she stated was one of her favorites. It was a catchy number, to be sure, and one that definitely inspired dance. As they moved together on the floor, Akshay began to formulate a plan. If he could get her to some place quiet then maybe, just maybe, he could actually bring her in himself…
The song that played over the speakers was one of the few that Agnes actually allowed herself to recognize. It was a great song, one that was deeply engrained in her as something that she actually liked. Agnes didn’t like to dance a lot but she knew good music to work out to and this one just so happened to be one of those. While this wasn’t training or a working out scenario, she could draw something from those experiences. Dancing, after all, was just a combination of movements, like fighting; all she had to do was find the rhythm.
Moving onto the dance floor, she turned wanted for Dev to join her. As she started to sway her hips to the sound, her hands running up and down her body, through her hair, she smiled gleefully as she turned. She swept her gaze and immediately caught sight of her target, the man who was grinding against a somewhat uncomfortable looking younger man. From far away they looked to be having a grand time, but up close, he definitely looked as if he were not here by choice. That only served to ignite her fires further.
A turn of her hips and she turned again, this time coming face-to-face with man she had dragged away from his drink at the bar. He confirmed that he was gay so she felt relatively safe that he wouldn’t try to grab a free feel. He could have been lying but she doubted that as the case. Besides, if he was, she was certain that, despite his height advantage, that she could easily kick his butt.
In the meantime, Agnes shot him a warm smile as she curled her fingers to beckon him closer. As he started to dance to the tune, Agnes did the same, her eyes drifting to Antionio every time she turned in his direction. Of course she tried to not draw suspicion to herself and would smile to any of the lovely ladies who looked her way but, for most part, kept her gaze on Antonio. From his body language alone, she knew that he would not last much longer out here. He was going to go at any moment and she only hoped that the poor younger man he had under his thrall would be able to get away.
But not now. Right now, she needed to dance and to bide her time…

His dance partner looked a bit distracted. As the pair of them moved to the undulating song, Akshay couldn’t help but notice that Combatant’s attention seemed to be divided, looking out around the crowd as opposed to actually focusing on the dance. It wasn’t that she really needed to, though; the way she moved was expert and practiced. However, her distracted nature did cause her to bump into him a few times than she probably meant to. Soundless apologies were uttered but Akshay was quick to dismiss them, only giving her a smile in response.
Again, this totally didn’t seem like the woman he had been sent out to grab but Akshay knew better than to trust things at face value. After all, he worked for an organization that firmly wrapped itself up in secrecy and appearing as an opposite of what it truly was. Even Akshay himself had engaged in some kind of subterfuge as well, especially with his personal life. But Combatant here, this wasn’t the face of someone just trying to knock him off balance, but rather someone who was busy.
She wasn’t just distracted by the music. Her mind was working overtime. This wasn’t the face or appearance of someone who was actively trying to find a distraction in the world – she was hunting. But the question was, what was she hunting for? Akshay knew that she was active in the area, that, according to intel, she came into this area when she was patrolling. But if this was a job, what kind of job was it?
In the end, it didn’t really matter. Whatever low level crime she was trying to bust didn’t mean anything to him. Rather he was focused on his own mission and that was not only tagging the mutant but, hopefully, hauling her butt in for SUPER. Still, he had a role to play so he gave her a sweet smile as he got her attention.
”You okay there? Seem preoccupied. Trying to get over someone?”
Agnes found herself tuning out her partner more and more. She didn’t mean to be rude, but now that she was out on the dance floor, she got a much better look at Antonio, his nervous partner, and the body language that suggested he would be leaving fairly soon. Antonio was not a man used up his time lightly. Rather, he was someone who was always on the move, always with a thousand things to do. Things were like that when you ran a arms business as efficiently as he did. And, low and behold, she was right.
As she turned herself, her back to Dev, she turned her hips, much to the appreciation of many of the ladies behind her. She paid them no heed, however, as instead her focus was solely on the arms dealer and the lustful way his mouth flicked near his conquest’s ear. Though she couldn’t hear all of it over the music, she did manage to catch snippets of their conversation.
”Gonna be a blast, baby…”
”Y-Yeah…?”
”…can’t tell you how excited I…have to make one stop…”
Agnes ground her teeth. Clearly the younger man wasn’t into this but he seemed way too terrified to even consider saying no. Given the reputation that Antonio had, Agnes wasn’t the least bit surprised. However, she was right in her guess that he was getting ready to leave soon. He purred in the other man’s ear but did state he needed to be elsewhere. Good, maybe that would give her the evidence that she needed.
However, just as Antonio turned, guiding the younger man away, his hand reaching down can cupping the man’s first butt, Agnes was shaken from her thoughts by her partner. The man was addressing her and it took a second for Agnes to realize that as she zeroed in on what he was saying.
>> ”You okay there? Seem preoccupied. Trying to get over someone?”
”Hrm? Oh. No. Nothing like that…” he grumbled. She watched Antonio stepped away, heading towards a backdoor to the club. His conquest in tow, Agnes ground her teeth. She couldn’t lose him now. She snapped her attention back to the man and gave him a forced smile. ”Thanks for the dance. You were a doll. But, I really do need to get going.” She stepped away from him, immediately heading towards the door that Antonio left from. But she stopped just long enough to look back at Dev over her shoulder. ’You’re sweet. Get home safe.” And with that she marched on, her hunt beginning.

She was very distracted. That could only lead Akshay to the conclusion that she was actually out working on a job, or a “mission”, rather. It seemed that intel was right and that she was here after the same gunrunner who was in attendance. It was a good thing to know that the eggheads were actually doing their job correctly for a change. The man smirked a little to himself but didn’t betray that expression in any way towards the young woman whose eyes kept sweeping the scene. When her gaze finally fell on someone, a pair, who were leaving the room, he put two and two together.
Still, playing the part of the friendly dance partner, he inquired if everything was okay with her. She seemed to be shaken from her thoughts before she turned to face him.
>> ”Hrm? Oh. No. Nothing like that…”
He stopped dancing, just long enough to raise his eyebrow towards her. He shook his head, playing his part well and opened his mouth to suggest that maybe something was wrong, but she was quick to cut him off. She was already…moving away?
>>”Thanks for the dance. You were a doll. But, I really do need to get going…You’re sweet. Get home safe.”
He smiled as he watched her walk away. However, while she thought she was walking out of his life forever, the truth was very different. She actually wasn’t going anywhere out of sight. As she stepped away, he zeroed in on her mutant signature and immediately locked in. Every other mutant around them dimmed from his view but Combatant herself? She flickered so bright that he instinctively wanted to squint his eyes.
A few more steps and she was gone, disappearing behind a door, leaving Akshay standing on the dance floor by himself. However this wasn’t a state that the man looked at all opposed to. Rather, he just smiled and bowed his head to her, muttering under his breath. ”Catch you around…Combatant.”
After she had left, Agnes had found a hidden stash where she kept her X-Uniform and immediately changed clothing. It felt like a second skin whenever she wore her outfit, almost as if it were the real Agnes and not the street clothing that she wore. Skin tight and adopted to every curve, as black as night, she blended in with the shadows and, finally, could breathe easier. But that would prove to be a difficult task as it required her to keep her cool.
It had been about an hour since Agnes had left the club. Once she had Antonio in her sights, it was just a matter of keeping him locked in. Sadly it wasn’t the prettiest show to watch. Slinking along rooftops and hiding in the shadows, she tailed Antonio as close as she dared and, surprisingly the first stop he made was back at his apartment. The man was a slime and, clearly, his libido was more important that anything else. She didn’t see what happened but by the time the man’s conquest had left the building, he was bruised and carried the air of someone who had been demeaned badly.
She ground her teeth as she watched him go but she did nothing to comfort him. She wasn’t the comforting type. But she would make sure that when she broke Antonio’s body that she break a few extra bones just for the young man who had been so cruelly treated. But, first, she needed Antonio to make his move. Sadly, he was being stubborn and not leaving his little tower. But, eventually he would. She would just have to be patient as she wasn’t stupid enough to go barging into his home without any idea of the layout of the security he had.
As much as she wanted to hurt him, she wasn’t stupid. She would bide her time and she would make sure that when the time was right, that she would strike.

It wasn’t hard to find Combatant again. After she had left the club, Akshay made sure to follow but not in any way that would give off his position. Rather he stayed completely out of her line of sight, following her from several hundred feet away. That was the good thing about his mutation is that it allowed him to track her no matter where she was, so long as she was in the area effect of his mutation. He could see her through walls, across streets, anything within the length of a football. So long as he didn’t delock from her, she wasn’t going to get away from him.
Keeping his distance, Akshay continued to track the woman, noting that path that she was following. It was clear to see that she was a far cry from the woman whom he had met in the club. She wasn’t the girlish partier, but rather she possessed expert movement. He watched as she ascended to the rooftops, running along the distance, parkouring her way along whatever track she was following. He could only guess that she must have come across one of the gunrunners that SUPER had known about and was making it her own personal mission to take him down. Interesting.
When she had finally come to a stop, Akshay climbed the nearest roof so that he could keep an eye on her. She was near the ledge of the building, staring at another building. Hunkering down behind a rather large air-conditioning unit, he pulled out his phone and quietly contacted his friend over in intel to give him information about the building and cross referencing the location with any known criminals in their database. It didn’t take them long to send him a message that Antonio Selano occupied the suite of that building, a known gunrunner and all-around sadist.
Again…interesting.
While Akshay could have easily teleported himself close enough to Combatant to knock her out, he wanted to see where this was going to go. So, staying in his hiding spot, he watched her from his distance, the flickering orange light that burned the very darkness with which he viewed the world. She was here hunting a known criminal, but exactly what was her plan? That was the only thing that stayed his hand…interest.
