Black sheep? Oh. Jude knew allll about that.

"Baaaah." Oh. Were they in a pun-off now? "That was unexc-ewe-sable." Jude had abandoned all reason at this point. He grinned with more teeth than lip indicating that he, at least, aimed to win whatever silliness this was.

"Man, it'd take too long to get into print at a magazine. I'm not saying don't. I'm saying you should Speedigraph it first. Get some followers, rinse and repeat. How awesome would it be to get paid to make food... And then eat it?"

> "...Aren't you a chef?"

And that marked the second time that Jude had to throw back his head and laugh. "Dude. I just chopped some onions and threw stuff in a pan. That's home chef at best. You've got, like, twine and a mix of spices that goes beyond garlic. I mean, follow your heart. I have no clue what I'm doing with my life. I sure as heck can't tell you what to do with yours."

Derek rolled his eyes playfully at Jude. He was a lover of puns himself. "I'm sorry. Sometimes I'm just full of wool."

Speedigraph? Derek had never heard of Speedigraph before. "I might look into it," he paused in thought, "you're right about gettin' it into print. It'll be almost impossible to do so." With a grin, he made a mental note to look it up later after the two of them finished eating.

Jude had a point about him maybe becoming a chef, but Derek loved animals! He loved animals so much that he couldn't imagine his life without them. That, and because without animals, he was completely powerless. He saw being a veterinarian as giving back to the animal kingdom as well as his way of saying "thank you" for everything that they've done for him. "I don't know, Jude. Maybe once I get into NYU -- if I do, I'll see what really speaks to me."
