Her eyes were playing tricks on her. She thought for a moment she saw Geo sink down into the ground. That can't be. He died. Didn't he? She stood there lost in thought. A quiet daydreamer, daydreaming away as death loomed closer. The soft crunch of soil beneath Cerberus's foot. Geo's death had to be an illusion. Geo is still alive! She didn't know how it worked, but she was willing to bet that it was true. Still, it gave her a reason to be hopeful. She snapped out of her awakening epiphany when she realized the large black shape was now closer. Licking it's many lips.
Daydream had a sedative running through her system. When she tranquilized herself earlier to come here invisible it left her with a dull numbness. She hadn't noticed it much because of all the adrenaline, but as her body began to level out she noticed the effect of the sedative in her system. She pointed the tranquilizer gun at Cerberus and shot a dart right into one of it's three heads. It didn't seem to have much effect. She quickly tucked the gun back in it's holster. She slipped her baton back in it's resting place. The only thing it did was make the beast break out into a charge against her. It's massive paws padding the soft ground in a gallop.
Daydream teleported herself on it's back. Her hand clutched at the massive collar of the canine monster. It knew she was there. It shook violently tryin to free itself of her grasp. It was heading right for the spider. The spider saw her and reared back on it's hind hairy legs. It spit acid that came showering down like spring rain. Daydream teleported away again. This time off to the side. She exploded into a fine mist of pale peach colored skin and red hair. Reappearing a foot above the ground she blinked back into existence landin hard. Her knees absorbed most of the shock, but it was a jarring landing. She touched the ground fast and went stumbling into a tent. The acid spit by the spider showered over Cerberus causing it to yelp and skitter away from the great hairy arachnid.
Daydream peered out of the tent in time to see Cerberus had spotted her again and charged her like a bull in a china shop. It bowled through the tent. Mere seconds before it reached her Daydream looked up at the feris wheel and teleported herself up there. Her body came ripping back into reality inside onf of the moving seats. She blinked into existence with her body slamming hard against the less than luxurious bucket seat. The spider was already on her. Dam do they have dream seeking vision or something? She wondered as she looked to the seat above her and teleported herself higher. The spider was dam fast. It moved with lightening speed and was climbing the side of the feris wheel.
Meanwhile the great hell hound was caught up in the tent. It managed to get itself momentarily trapped in the tent. Great claws and sharp teeth trying to rip at the fabric to free itself. The spider began to spin webs around the feris wheel. IT was using it's web to slow down the ride and bring it to a crawling stop. This creature was smart. It started spraying web over the seats as well to give it's fleaing prey less places to hide.
Daydream's teleport was erratic. She didn't want to die. Not when she was clinging to the hope that Geo had somehow survived. She had an idea though the thought of it actually terrified her. She looked down by the base of the feris wheel. There was one of those games where you hit the platform with the hammer and try and ring the bell. She teleported down it it quickly and grabbed the hammer. Her brown eyes darting back up to the massive spider that nearly blocked out the sun. Above her the spider had noticed she disappeared. It climbed up higher on the feris wheel searching for it's prey. It was going to wrap her in a cacoon to eat later.
Daydream was gripping the hammer between her hands. She hoped this would work. Just then Cerberus came bursting out of the tent. It caught her off guard. It too moved with a speed you wouldn't expect. Before she could stop it. It was on her. One of it's three heads picked her up with massive jaws. It's teeth sinking into the fabric of her leather jacket and slinging her high up in the air like a dog biscuit. It's mouths open hungry and wide waiting for the delicious flesh of her to fly back down. Daydream soared through the air still holding the hammer. The spider had noticed her now. She was flying up towards it. Cerberus had tossed her high into the air.
The spider spit acid down hoping to burn her alive and keep her from running from it any further. Daydream closed her eyes and thought above the spot right above the spider. The point way up high. She exploded into a mist of smoke and the spider's acid fel down into Cerberus's open mouths. Acid rain burning the back of it's throat and it's eyes and face. Cerberus fell to the ground rolling and spasming. The spider no long interested in Daydream but the holding meal in front of it. It was the second time Cerberus got in it's way and now the spider was thinking much bigger in terms of lunch. It slowly started to descend on Cerberus on a string of web. It spit more acid as it did gaining more yelps from the convulsing terrified beastie below.
Daydream was up high now. She was higher than the top of the feris wheel. The heavy hammer still tightly in her grasp. She looked up and thought about a spot even higher. This wasn't high enough. She teleported even higher in the sky. Until she was simply a silouhette against the sun itself. She looked above her and teleported even higher s till. Until she could barely see the spider below. It looked like a spec.
Then she allowed gravity to do the work. She allowed gravity to pull her down back to the earth. Her grip on the hammer tightening as she began to pick up speed. Her eyes narrowed with a look of determination though her lips quivered in a wavering of fear and uncertainty. She was approaching the spider fast and it wasn't even looking for her now. IT was getting closer now. Closer. Closer.......Daydream swung the hammer just at the right moment. She was like a penny dropped off the empire state building. Picking up enough speed and enough force to deal a deadly blow.
A horrible screeching emerged from the spider as it fell from it's web. It came crashing down to earh itself. It was a long drop from the feris wheel and it exploded in a mix of red and bright green acid, everything. It exploded over the fallen Cerberus who began to sizzle and smoke from the poisonous elements dripping over it; in the wake of the carnage. Daydream was still falling and moments before she hit the ground as well she exploded. A fine mist of her teleport sending her to relative safety.
Daydream teleported herself somewhere though she didn't have time to think about where she was going. She grabbed the first thought that appeared in her head and took it as an exit. She reappeared a few feet above the ground. Her body falling from the sky and hitting the dirt hard. She landed awkwardly on her shoulder and rolled across the ground several times. She rolled across the dusty ground until she slammed hard into a wooden wall. Her spine buckled with the impact. Her head colliding with the wall to make her vision instantly double. Even in astral form she had to be careful about head injury. She didn't know what effect they would have on her body.
She stared at scene before her. Cerberus was wimpering but not dead. It was horribly disfigured though. The spider WAS dead. It had gave Cerberus an acid bath when it exploded on the ground, but Cerberus was tough. Still, it'd be awhile before it was a problem again. Daydream almost felt bad for it when she heard it whimper. She looked around. Her vision seemed swimmy and she saw two of everything. She saw a pair of feet approaching. Dusty cowboy boots kicking up dirt as it moved closer to her. "So....You're the b***h that started all this trouble? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE?" Daydream struggled to lift her aching head, she brought her face up just in time to see the man starting to tear through his clothing. He was transforming somehow. And he meant to take out his frustration on her. She couldn't move. Not a muscle. She could only sit in horror and watch.
