She was right, plenty of time to leer at the pictures later. There was a job to do right now. Frantically checking her camera options and trying to find where to turn off the flash, by some miracle she managed without alerting their marks.

Snapping as many pictures from as many angles as she thought she could get away with, she hadn't been paying attention to what they were saying. All she got was something about plans, the X-somethings and wait, what was that? One of them had mentioned something about a rat tail. That couldn't be right, could it? Caits' eyes widen as she started to process the implication.

I think they know we clocked them. They said something about a tail, or rat or something.

Oh god, had the guy known they were following all along? This was bad, really bad. If they started a fight with the wrong person, or got caught up in a situation that was above their heads and Becca would likely skin them alive. She shuddered to think what Combatant would do to them if they lost a fight after all the training she'd put in with them.

Oh god, oh god, oh god. They might know we were following him.

Impact might actually kill me this time.

Stop. Deep breaths. It doesn't matter if they know were WERE stalking them so long as they don't know NOW.

Zero looked around for an unconventional exit that her stabby friend could make.

I don't think the throwing 💩 tactic will work again. WHY HAD THEY NOT THOUGHT OF THAT BEFORE!!?!

Zero was kicking herself about not planning their exit strategy first until she realized that she didn't hear any talking anymore.

The silence was more terrifying than anything she'd overheard by far.

💩. She made an executive decision to just get them the 🔥🔥 out of there.

Zero tossed one end of a tether to Shivs and tapped herself so that her friend would fall across the open gap and toward her. She pushed open the door, hit the door lever lock to keep it open, and tapped herself before throwing a tether outside to the next roof over.

It was follow the leader from there. Zero fell toward the building's roof. Shivs fell toward her. She dropped her gravity pull once she was on the roof and tried to drop Cait's before the collided, but she didn't have any control over momentum...

Was it weird that the newest member was the one calming her down? Maybe, but right now petty thoughts weren't needed. She had to get in serious mode. Pulling out a knife just in case, she tensed herself to move quickly. They really should have formed an exit strategy.

The silence was the worst thing, like the people could somehow sense the nervous woman behind the crates. Or more likely, they had heard her phone vibrating every other second.

She did not know how much more she could take. If nothing changed she would have to just bolt.

So of course, something changed. More precisely, gravity did as she suddenly started to fall down, through the door and zipped across the car park. This was not a feeling she could ever get used to, no matter how often Raine kept trying to convince her. She was a land animal, through and through.

Pulling out a shield and trying to use it to slow her falling, she only just managed to nudge herself to one side, narrowly avoiding plowing into her teammate. Skidding along the roof, the reassertion of proper downness slowed her enough to finally come to a stop.

Moaning as she pulled herself up, checking for anything broken or cut, she had somehow come out (mostly) unscathed. "That was terrifying!" It was. "And awesome!." That too. Rushing up to her friend she enveloped the smaller woman in a huge hug, nearly lifting her off the ground.

"You know I hate flying, but by god that was one hell of an exit! Can you imagine the look on their faces?"

It was close, but Cait sailed right on past and dragged to a stop on the roof. Raine's heart was going mad from the adrenaline.

"Are you dead? Please don't be dead." She was moaning. Was it bad? Raine too checked Cait fro anything broken, but her response finally cracked through the shell of her concern.

"Ah!" She got a hug and hugged right back. Every bit of her worry she put into that hug.

"I mean, technically it's not flying..." But, yeah, she could totally imagine their faces. "We should skedaddle." She looked around, but it wasn't like they had anything to gether up. "You go the pictures, right?" She hadn't actually been able to see from her vantage point and was dying to be in on the secret. But, maybe it should wait until they were out of easy range.

Letting her friend hug out some of her worries, she realised she sometimes forgot how long she'd been with them. Even with 4 years under her belt, Cait still got terrified at times like this, she could only imagine Raine's thoughts right now.

Raine could justify it any way she wanted, soar through the air was flying. "Call it what you want Raine, it still freaks me out." She was right though, they had to leave now, somehow. Rooftops weren't exactly amazing for hasty getaways and she did not want to walk down the side of it like some weird, red spider.

Grinning and pulling out her phone, glad that Becca had insisted on her having a shock resistant case, she flicked through her photo album. "All here, plenty of different angles and lighting. And check it out, our creeper has good taste." Slowly going through the photos she had managed to get, she started to commit the womans' face to memory. She might be a sucker for a pretty face, but this was one that clearly had some secrets.

"Imagine the look on the bosses face when we come back with not one but two suspects, picture evidence and testimony from the both of us." Impact might not have been expecting much out of them, this would blow her socks off. "We will be so in for more missions in the future."

"The only thing is now, how do we get down?"
