Ok so just to make sure that I don't accidentally step on anybody's toes by accidentally taking an open thread that was intended for a different type of character I'm going to go ahead and post this here.

Privyet. This is Nikolai Andreivych Zelinsky. A real quick sum up of his character is that he's a 32 year old gangster with the Ukrainian branch of the Russian Mafia in Brighton Beach who was basically pressed into running with the mafia in his early 20s. He's not overly concerned about mutant v human politics until they end up tying into the politics of the Family. He's got a shaky left hand caused by an injury when he was in high school, a thick accent, and a day job as a commercial window cleaner.

So what I am looking for is a way to throw Nikolai into the pool of characters and fun without crashing him into other character plots. Also looking for people / groups that Nikolai as part of both the Russian community and the mafia might already know as he's been in NYC since before the registration act and all that fun that's happened.

I have an idea for how Tempest and he might have already known of each other in a tangential way. It's possible the "local authorities" helped use Sanctuary's (homeless shelter and community center) resources and its now manager, my character Tempest, to help smuggle out those families during the riots and bombings.

I've been meaning to find what Tempest was doing during most of that time as he wasn't involved in the Rag or X-Men threads/missions anyway.

To what extent we build on that depends on your interests for Nik. Maybe he wants to check out Sanctuary himself? Maybe Devon wants to learn more about the guy who helped these families and hires his company/services to clean at Sanctuary so they can talk? Depends too if Nik is going to want to get out of the mafia's control as well of course.

Lori has had some IC dealings with the Russian mafia, mostly in a negative competitive sort of way since she was sort-of a mobster in her own right for a while there. Even though she's not at all involved any more, I can easily see that there could be some bad blood and nothing makes a good thread like conflict.

I also have a mercenary type character who is between jobs. She erases memories. PM if anything sound interesting to you.
