Devon was thrilled this meeting had gone so well. He had a very favorable report to write for Mr. Holloway while still more promising things to note for the future both for Nate’s case as well as their working relationship. Nate seemed a friendly sort; no wonder he’d been a con man of such success. He was easy on the eyes too, which always helped.
>> ”Sign me up. I’ll get my work schedule at the Mansion out to you, and if you let me know when you want me around, I’ll make it work.”
“Excellent,” said the younger man. “We’ll arrange a plan that works for you and I’ll be sure to note it in my report as well. Very good start here,” he smiled.
>> “..There’s no reason the Mansion and Sanctuary cannot work hand in hand.”
“Exactly,” Devon nodded. “There may at times be people here the police force would want to question, even arrest, and sometimes the X-Men might get caught in the middle of that, but Sanctuary is for everyone. Everyone deserves a home, a place to belong no matter what their past,” he smiled.
Nate smirked and Devon smirked back as the man raised his glass of water, >> ”To a brighter future and a promising partnership?”
Devon raised his as well, “Very much so, and to your continued success. But let’s make the next toast with wine or bourbon or something.” He laughed, clinked his glass to Nate’s, and then finished the water off.
They’d have plenty of opportunity to do just that.
