//"I'm atmokinetic. I can really throw off a weather pattern if I want,"
Weather. That was interesting, and potentially devastating if paired with the right circumstances. James wondered whether it could be manipulated by mind-control Mutants for unsavoury purposes. Perhaps a tornado. Was a wildfire a weather condition? An earthquake? He would have to research that on his own time.
/As for me, my services come at a price.
Huh. Chief was business-minded for sure. James wouldn't hold her against it, as he can see the reasoning behind this, but he couldn't help but feel a twinge of disapproval. Sure, James was likely being a bit hypocritical, and he was quite certain Chief and Devon weren't friends. But he was still allowed to be annoyed at the idea.
"Yeah. Maybe I'll find a way to cope. At least I can... hold a bit of a conversation, now, without ending up trying to process everything around me at once. Or try to," James cracked a smile before continuing. "Anyways, when you have everything organised for the block party- or maybe I can help organising it- you can just tell me."
James drummed his fingers on his thigh and glanced around him. He didn't want to initiate conversation, and nobody was talking.

(( OOC: We can call this thread done or wrap it up quick if desired. ))
>> “You’d has to take dat u’ wiss duh head honcho, sore Chrysalis’ in’ol’ement”
“Can do,” Tempest gave a curt nod. “I and those attending would like that. I’ll see what I can work out.”
Chief followed that up with her clarified speech app: <<As for me, my services come at a price. So if you have a rate, name it. But I’ve established enough of a reputation in the community that I don’t work for free.>>
Tempest appreciated the use of the app though he’d not found it necessary yet. He could understand her. “Okay, that’s fair. If you can donate any of your time, that’s great, but I understand you have a career after all. Let me see what I can work out for such a rate and then I’ll contact you to see if that can work. Do you have a typical rate you’d be looking for?”
James at least seemed interested. He was willing to try joining in. Devon wasn’t sure what to expect, was even surprised he’d come here, though knowing now he was a mutant Devon wasn’t as surprised.
>> "Anyways, when you have everything organised for the block party- or maybe I can help organising it- you can just tell me."
“I will. Considering your abilities, perhaps you could look over my plan for where things are situated and my timing. I assume recognizing the movement of people and such is a pattern you might recognize. Where best to put seating, water, advertisements to donate, et cetera,” Devon went on. It dawned on him that James might be the best interpreter of body language anyone had ever met, also possibly the best poker player if he could pick out any tells. The man’s ability had possibility. He smiled, “But I do hope you choose to come and enjoy it.”
“You too, Chief,” he inclined his head back to the large mutant. “You’re welcome even if you choose not to work it and if you do, we won’t have you work the whole time.”
