The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sure, Juliette had spent some time working on her powers, but it really wasn't a main focus in her life. She instead just used them when necessary and dealt with issues as they came up. Usually, that worked out for her.
Devon, however, seemed to have a far different approach. He seemed to know his powers inside and out, and the way he spoke about them indicated that he spent a lot of time working with them. It seemed to be that they served as a tool for him and were a part of him, rather than simply the latter.
Juliette tried to keep herself from feeling jealous.
"Flight is... Not as great as I'd like it to be," Juliette admitted. "It takes a lot of energy, and even then I can only go short distances. I enjoy it, but it can be difficult, and it's a huge drain. It's usually worth it in the end, though."
"Hey with me around though, we could keep you well charged. Hopefully that'd help you practice more," Devon nodded with a grin. "One day I'll likely need an assist even if we fly under different means. I could feed you with enough power to make you blindingly bright."
"I on the other hand could maybe fling some people across a chasm, sure. I can easily catch people that are falling. By myself..." Devon paused a moment, "Well I can jump from very high heights and catch myself. It sure started with some severe bruising. I was black and blue for a month once..."
He laughed, "Though those are my favorite colors I wear them enough. Add some more people and I need time to plan. The faster, the more people, the higher it is the harder it gets. But flight? Well I keep jumping and throwing myself around but nothing sustained yet."
"You want to try? It sound odd but I can keep hitting you with lightning bolts until I need a moment," Devon shrugged. "Work on my stamina as it were."
"Yeah, let's try it out," Juliette nodded. They seemed to be able to work well together and she was curious to know what she could do with all that energy. Besides, any excuse to fly around for a bit was a good one. "You're lucky I know first aid in case you fall again."
"What do you think, just outside, or should we find somewhere a little less obvious?" She wondered. Sure, it was easier to just go outside and start from there, but then they were also two mutants who would be practicing flying in the middle of New York city. As if that wasn't a recipe for disaster.
That being said, Juliette couldn't really think of anywhere else to go, and she didn't have a car, so she figured Tempest might possibly know of a place and how to get there. At least, that would be her hope.
"Glad you're down," Tempest grinned. "I sure am and yes, I know just the place. You mind a few hour drive? We can go out to the Montauk cliffs. It's beautiful, secluded, plenty of beach, and I know it pretty well. When I really need to practice or let loose, that's where I go."
He shrugged a shoulder, "But if you want something closer I know a few abandoned buildings close by that we could use. Hopefully someone will come in and revitalize them as soon as things calm down... Lots of empty warehouse space and closer to water, so rarely people in the area anyway."
He tilted his head from side to side as his eyes brightened back to azure blue. "It's up to you. I can grab a zip car if you're up for Montauk. But if you need to stay close for the hospital or anything, that's fine."
Juliette chewed her lip as she thought over the options. The mountain range did sound better as far as seclusion and sunlight went, but she still had a late shift to get to, and she didn't want to be incredibly late or overtired. As much as she would have rather gone to the mountains, she figured the closer option might be the better one.
"Lets try the warehouses," Juliette said after a moment. After all, if Devon was able to keep her charged, the sunlight wouldn't be an issue. She stuck the idea of the mountain range in the back of her mind for a later time.
She glanced at Devon and grabbed her purse, giving the room one last look. "Ready to go?"
