Moving in had been a bit of a bummer. Paperwork of course. Hauling all her stuff to a room - expected, but annoying. The bad part though, had been giving her dad a hug and a kiss on the cheek, then doing the same for Cherry, her best friend from her old school. Cherry had come along for emotional support. Which was good, seeing as Claire pretty much fell apart right about then.
A school for mutants. Wow... and she thought her old school was weird. All they had was foreign students speaking a dozen or more languages! She'd pretty much hid in her new room for a day, before her natural curiosity kicked in, and she slipped out into the halls.
Claire began to explore her new home, looking into any and all public areas she found. She'd never be so rude as to invade someone's room of course. But common areas were fair game. The staff had mentioned 'training sessions' for learning powers, which implied that they must have a gym somewhere. Maybe she could find that, and scrounge up a basketball or something...
All the same, the slight redhead slipped quietly through the halls, not drawing attention to herself. She hoped. Of course, this might look like sneaking, but that would be in the eye of the beholder.

The nice thing about years of dance is it provided a good deal of grace, and with grace came a degree of quietness. She paused to look at a suit of armor in a nook. Fake for display only? She thought not. Ahead, a doorway beckoned to her, and she went down to peek in. Living room; couches, chairs, big TV, but no one around. Still, it bore a little exploration. After all, what did mutants do in their free time?
<shifting to Living Room. TBC here when done there>
