The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Bottom Bunk, after light's out (No Girls Allowed!)
"Well that's just radar, right? We can't possibly mess that up."
Jude flipped a toggle. Nothing blew up. He grinned with new found bravado as the screen toggled to a different kind of blipping. Nothing seemed to actually be moving on the screen and that was good news. They still had time to play then. Nifty.
There were many other nifty things too. "Zis one has a bell on it." Okay, so when he got excited his accent came through a bit. He tried to keep that to a bare minimum, though, as he mashed the bell button. It was a lovely orange and toggled to red as the cabin filled with a melodious and rhythmic warning tone.
Oh! And that one had a light on it! Jude mashed it several times in a row and the lights on the exterior of the jet lit up and flicked off in time. The wing lights were blue, the nose flickered orange and the cabin interior lights were a little yellow tinted. They had an off and on riot of color.
"Dance party anyone?"
Jude hit the radio, which was obviously a radio, and then hit one more button with what looked like the air conditioning symbol. If they were going to dance to this new found music, they needed the AC on, right?
Through the music, Jude thought he heard something about weapons systems being armed, but... that couldn't be right. He'd only just hit the button for air conditioning.

With bated breath, she watched Jude flip the toggle. A lifetime of indoctrination of don't mess with what you don't know did make the girl a little cautious, but when a second passed and nothing blew up and Jude was going on a button spree, the grin that spread across her face was every bit as wide as his- it was impossible not to be excited when you had your own jet-sized party of strobe lights and music.
>> "Dance party anyone? Dance?"
A symphony of shades of orange flickered all around them. Margo's pulse had synced itself to the music long before he even asked.
"Do I even need to say?" Oh, but what a colorful glove compartment the jet had! "The only question is, do you want to catch the crazy emo waves or no?" Because she could make that either way and it was good to ask, right?
Emo waves huh? Jude hardly even had to think it over. "Y-yeah! Bring 'em on! You want emo waves? Or... maybe she should keep the ice ramp?" It would take a long time to melt, in theory... Jude offered Margo his hand.
"Yeah. Definitely emo waves." He wasn't really much for dancing without a crowd. Actually, he'd never quite danced just one on one a whole lot. And now that he was thinking about it, it was feeling weirder. He was just weirdly nervous. So. Yeah. Emo waves were really the best option here.
Jude held up a finger to tell Margo to wait for a second and stepped away really fast to crank the music. It probably wouldn't wake any one up way down here, right? Loud music also helped with dancing. It was science. Or something. He was back in a flash, though.

Once upon a time, a middle school girl had danced the Virginia Reel at the lamest, most folksy, school funded event ever. What that occasion had not taught Margo was how to dance in any other situation- say, a one-on-one party in the X jet. Emo waves and loud music should clear that up, though, and apparently Jude had the same idea.
In theory, the ice ramp wouldn't melt anytime soon. And if it did... well, they'd find some other way. How were they supposed to dance while completely avoiding each other, anyway?
Music blasting full notch, check. Partner in crime, check.
Margo gathered her emo waves in all the nuanced shades of fun around her like a cloak, and took Jude's offered hand with a grin.
Jude grinned. No way was he gonna poke fun at Margo, this was an unofficial truce on the making fun front so that they could have fun.
And it was fun! It got double fun when she took his hand and maybe four times as fun when his power lazily swapped over to Margo's. It really seemed like they were both very good at moving erratically to the music. Good enough to get the jet rocking ever so slightly on its wheels and good enough to send Jude into a fit of giggles when Margo accidentally whacked him in the face with an arm.
He sprawled back in a most dramatic fashion against the control panel. No one could say this wasn't fun.
fwunKOOM!
Suddenly things were not terribly fun any more. Instead, things were on fire.
Jude said a not very nice word and tried to shut things off in the jet. "We gotta get out of here!"

In the sudden riot of alarms going off in the hangar, anything the either of them might have said was lost. Margo more than got the idea, though-- it was time to make an exit.
Panic would only make things worse. Anything would make things worse, if only because the world tended to take offense and make everything worse when you tried to say that nothing could possibly do so. The basement of the school was on fire, and the girl in the jet in the basement was absolutely, absolutely not panicking at that thought; come to think of it, absolutely not thinking about panicking to keep herself from doing so, either.
No, the girl in the jet was in the jet no longer. She pulled Jude away from the control panel, and slipped and skidded down the ice ramp on her behind.
