The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The agent was trying to get a good purchase on her shoulders with his hands, but Noel wasn't holding still enough for that. She knew that if she ever ended up fully on the ground, that was a loosing game for someone with less strength. He was trying to control her movements, hold her still. Screw that.
She moved her legs for better leverage and bucked, rolled, anything to keep from getting her back flat on the ground. She had her gun hand pinned at an awkward angle. Too wide for a shot at the man on top of her and too wild to bank on hitting someone in back. She couldn't point up, she had upstairs neighbors. Down wasn't going to do her any good either. What? Was she gonna shoot a hole in her own floor?
Noel wasn't a wrestler. Floor work just wasn't her thing. She was doing nothing to thin the numbers, but the guy on top of her wasn't getting any help either. It was mostly a stalemate with the Davronski agent trying to get a follow up punch to Noel's face and Noel trying to grab, pinch, twist, shove, or... well, really anything to hurt him enough to get him off.
Hades stalked towards the remaining Davronski's that were attacking/surrounding Noel. Unlike the team that had attacked them at his first safe house, which were combat shock troops and hence wore full body armor. This group were surveillance and covert extradition. Dressed to be able to blend in and essentially kidnap Noel before anyone was the wiser. This meant light armor and that meant increased vulnerability to electric shocks. From his belt Hades pulled two shock mauls. Aluminium rods with rubber hand grips with heads that were covered in tiny spikes. Inside the handle of each rod was a high capacity battery. At the press of a button a taser class shock would strike any unfortunate body that was touching it. He struck one on the back of the neck and another in the pit of the stomach while pressing the button. There was something satisfying and gratifying to see ones targets spasm and drop. Soon there was only the one that was currently wresting with Noel. Hades cocked his right arm back and delivered a forceful blow to the side of his skull knocking him off Noel. Hades look around and determining that there were no more immediate threats to them both Reached out a hand to help Noel to her feet. "Are you ok?" he asked.
Hades speaks in #ec4511 Thanks Ghost for the second Sig
Help! Ha! At first she'd been worried when the Davronski had gotten backup first. They'd been trying to have a conversation around Noel's flailing about the best ways to get her out of there, none of which Noel wanted any part of. Hog tied? Chloroform? Horse tranqs? Yeah. No thanks. So it was with immense satisfaction that Noel watched Hades drop, first, the help, and then the guy she'd been unable to unseat.
Now the tables were turned entirely. Noel took the hand up, her cheek was swelling and she had bits of her front door in her hair. "No time. If you want anything from these guys, take one." Noel had some quick packing to do.
She went to her room. It was humble. Just a mattress on the ground with a cheap nox store blanket. There was hardly anything personal. She had a poster of the vampire series that featured that handsome pink-haired X-man on the wall, a blackout curtain, a lamp on an overturned brown box, a couple books. Still. It was all hers.
Noel pulled out a duffle bag and gave the two laundry baskets a sniff. One was dirty. One was clean. The only difference was the smell. She unended the clean one into the bag and the reached under the mattress and pulled out a metal cookie tin. That was her life's savings. Hard to use a bank safely when you couldn't verify your ID... or remember your PIN.
She trotted back across the apartment, bulgy bag in tow as police sirens sounded. To her, they sounded right outside, but that was probably nerves for the unknown origin of the weapons she had on hand and the dead and less than dead occupants of her apartment.
Her old apartment. Because there was no way she was staying here now.
"I feel like a bad host. Can I get you anything? Soda? Snack?" She joked, but did grab a diet coke. Her hands weren't steady enough to open it. Proof that she needed it. For now, she put the can straight from the fridge to her face. "Okay. Let's go." Should she leave a note? Noel glanced at the dead men she'd stepped over. Eh. Since her roomie could see dead people... that was probably note enough.
'Sorry, Lana.' That would have to be goodbye enough.
