The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The cleanly cut grass around the monstrous mansion reminded him of one of the old castles he used to visit back in Germany. Not all the castles there were fully restored and turned into shopping malls. Once in a while, he would go find the untouched ones. He would feel the moss on the side of the old bricks. It would always burn his hands if he touched the moss for too long, but he couldn't help himself. It was mesmerizing. Now he was here standing in front of a giant gate guarding a giant mansion. "What is this place?" He wondered aloud. He had read about this mansion somewhere before. Was it a comic book? Acuamo couldn't remember. He didn't care much anyway. He saw mutants using their powers within the confines of the gate. Mutants! Finally, he found someone like him. Maybe he could get some of his questions answered.
Noticing someone watching him at the front gate, he walked up to greet the person. "Hello, I'm Acuamo. Can you tell me about this place?" Jon asked cautiously. He had heard about mutants before but he had never hung out with one. He wasn't sure what to expect.
He shifted uncomfortably under the gaze of the stranger....
Chris was leaning against the wall looking the guy. "Hello, I'm Acuamo. Can you tell me about this place?" Having seen him look at the mansion with the awe of someone that had never seen it before, or the people inside he was not surprised when he can up and asked about the place. After a few moments Chris grinned and held out his hand. "Chris, nice to meet you Acuamo. Well, I'm guessing you have heard of the X-Men right?" Without bothering to wait for a reply he continued. "This is their base. They live here and train here and stuff. Other than that really I have no idea. I'm not a part of the team either if you were wondering"
He pushed off the ground and grabbed his staff he had leaning against the wall. After the events of late he had decided to bring something a bit more offensive around. It was about as long as a walking stick and from about halfway down it had rings of materials, each with different properties, allowing him to draw on them and hopefully kick ass. Hopefully. "By the way you were looking at it I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that like me, you are a mutant, or that you know someone that is. Am I right?" Actually Chris had only a vague suspicion of this but he figured it would be better to get this out in the open faster. Lead to less suspicion and lying in the long run.
"Chris, nice to meet you Acuamo. Well, I'm guessing you have heard of the X-Men right? This is their base. They live here and train here and stuff. Other than that really I have no idea. I'm not a part of the team either if you were wondering" "By the way you were looking at it I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that like me, you are a mutant, or that you know someone that is. Am I right?"
The onslaught of the questions overwhelmed Jon, but the energy of the cute minor in front of him was addicting. It gave him the strength to continue the conversation. "Hi Chris. Yes, I've heard of them on the news and what not. I haven't met any other mutants though." The white lie seemed to fit naturally in the tone of the conversation. Jon had seen other mutants but they all looked stuck up and Jon didn't do stuck up. "Calling myself a mutant seems a little derogatory.' Jon said with half a frown. "I like to think of myself as an aquamancer."
Jon let a bit of water from his pouch splash into a puddle on the ground. The blue liquid in his eyes started to churn as the water leaped up into a ball in the palm of his hand. He playfully let it float around Chris' neck hoping to give him a slight shiver. Jon laughed. "What can you do?" He asked playfully. He'd hoped the question wasn't to offensive.
"Hi Chris. Yes, I've heard of them on the news and what not. I haven't met any other mutants though." Although that statement was actually false as of a few moments ago Chris could believe that Acuamo didn't have much experience with other mutants. Well, ones that he knew where mutants. Chris wouldn't have ever been able to hide due to his eyes, but didn't really want to either.
"Calling myself a mutant seems a little derogatory. I like to think of myself as an aquamancer." "Mutant is only derogatory if you want it to be. Just like faggot or " The words left Chris's mouth before he could think about them. Inwardly he cursed, right now the number of friends he had was small and he didn't want to ruin a potential opportunity. But when Acuamo demonstrated his powers Chris understood the Aquamancer bit. Feeling the cool from the ball on his next Chris answer the question with a grin.
"I change stuff." Picking up a pebble from the ground he held it in his palm and stuck his other hand into the sphere. "Behold!" Chris said dramatically as he swapped the colour of the two. Spreading out from his his hand rather quickly was the colour of the pebble. in a few seconds the sphere looked like the pebble. pulling his hand out Chris held the pebble between his fingers and showed it to Acuamo. "Here, have a look. It's not just colour as well. I can do almost any attribute." Chris said before nonchalantly tossing the stone towards him. Chris stuck his finger in the sphere and began swirling it around inside while asking "So is it just telekinetic or can you do other stuff to it as well?"
Jon scrambled to catch the unexpected pebble. He looked at it with intense interest. "Or can you do other stuff with it?"
His mind was ripped from the intense thoughts about the pebble back to the guy he was unintentionally flirting with.
"Oh I can do other stuff with it." Jon said with a wink. "I am curious though. This pebble can you change it to water?" The possibilities excited Jon. He thought about all the things he could do if his new friend could turn a field of gravel into a small lake.
He let the ball of water splash into chris' palm. It felt good to let someone else see his power. It felt even better that he was being accepted in some way.
"So why haven't you joined the xmen? You seem powerful enough." Jon asked realizing he hadn't even given Chris a chance to respond to his first question. He looked down at the ground, disappointed in himself for seeming to eager.
"This pebble can you change it to water?" Chris thought he could see where this was going."Yes, I could change it to be water, it would still be solid though, and look like a pebble but technically be water." Chris felt the ball of water splash onto his hand and he thought back to those times when he learnt to swim. Shortly he was jerked back to reality by the next question. "So why haven't you joined the xmen? You seem powerful enough." Chris grinned,"I'm flattered that you would think I am powerful enough to join the X-Men. But I doubt how willing they would be too accept me." Chris hesitated, he didn't want to want to scare or anger his new, cute, friend but his logic was the same for revealing he was a mutant. "I say that because last time I met an X-Men she kinda dragged me through some mirrors and knocked me out. The only reason I am not jailed is cuz may have, kinda broken the airport." Chris was kinda liking this guy. He lent back against the wall and waited to see Acuamo's reaction.
"I say that because last time I met an X-Men she kinda dragged me through some mirrors and knocked me out. The only reason I am not jailed is cuz may have, kinda broken the airport."
Jon had a hard time believing his ears. In his entire life he'd never been in a fight. How interesting it would be to fight on chris' side. "Hmm. So it would be solid water but not ice. I wonder if I'd be able to control that." Jon said excitedly. "So what do you mean you broke the airport?" Jon was becoming increasingly more interested in this guy.
Then a sudden thought struck him. "How old are you?" The boy couldn't be older than 17. Jon had just turned 23 in July. He began to wonder if this kid had thought he was some old creeper guy. How'd his ex put it? Gayncient?
"So what do you mean you broke the airport?" Chris cringed. "Well there was a support pillar and a Pillow Pet and then I made the pillar squishy and then the same with a roof and then it kinda broke." Chris didn't like hurting people, buildings and objects were fair play but not people. Then Acuamo asked him his age rather out of the blue. Puzzled Chris replied "I'm 17, turning 18 in April. I'm Legally Independent however so there are some age restrictions that don't apply to me."[[OOC:I don't know American law but in Australia you can do this]] Chris could easily tell that Acuamo was older but he didn't have the air of a creepy old guy. Living on the streets taught you how to avoid people like that. Chris glanced once more at the mansion and then faced the other guy. "Where are you from? You sound European but I may be wrong."
"Well there was a support pillar and a Pillow Pet and then I made the pillar squishy and then the same with a roof and then it kinda broke." Jon was dumbfounded. A small kid like this causing so much destruction? Way cool! I could tell he was taken off guard by my series of questioning. "I'm 17, turning 18 in April. I'm Legally Independent however so there are some age restrictions that don't apply to me." "Where are you from? You sound European but I may be wrong."
Jon was used to people being wrong about his culture. For the first time in a while, someone had gotten it right. 'Yes, my parents are Irish but i was born in Germany and moved throughout Europe as I grew." Jon explained. "I'm sorry for the weird questions. I've always been a little socially awkward." Jon blushed a little. Why was this 17 year old kid making him feel like he was talking to a cute guy back in primary school?
The water they were playing with earlier was still lying in a small puddle on the ground. Jon floated it back into the palm of his hand. "Maybe we can think of some fun things to do with our powers to the others around here?" Jon mused. He didn't care if people got hurt or didn't get hurt as long as it was funny. Of course, Jon could think of hundreds of funny things he could do with a guy who can switch out attributes with things. Jon floated the water back to Chris' hands, entangling it between his fingers. "You were asking earlier what else i could do with it, well I can make it really hot." He turned the heat up on his little water puddle to just below a harmful warmth. "And I can cool it down." He lowered the temperature quickly to just above freezing. "Anything else you can do with yours?"
Chris watched as Acuamo floated the water between his fingers. "You were asking earlier what else i could do with it, well I can make it really hot." Chris felt the heat of the water stop just below being uncomfortable, then it did the same with going cold. "Anything else you can do with yours?" Chris paused, it wasn't often that others asked what else he could do. "Well, if I concentrate I can choose what parts to swap, by that I mean I could mess with just this section of pavement, or the entire length. I haven't found a limit to the size of the object so I guess I could alter the entire city if I had enough time. The other cool thing is that no matter wherever you take that pebble I will be able to find it, and thus you. Useful for tracking and locating people. Or for freaking out people when I know exactly where they are." With this last statement Chris grinned. "You asked what we could do to others, there are plenty of funny stuff with invisible flying puddles of water." Holding his staff Chris selected the transparency of the glass embedded in it and made the water almost invisible. If you looked closely it appeared like the shimmer of heat rising of tarmac but that was all. "Don't worry I can turn it back at any time" Chris said, gesturing to the stone which had now gone back to normal.
Jon mused at the idea of throwing pure clear water into someone else's face. He thought it would be even funnier if they accidentally walked into it. Hoping the small stone still had some tracking properties from before, he pushed it into his pocket. He wanted Chris to be able to find him if he was in need of some help. Jon liked Chris. He felt a special bond there.
Jon snapped himself out of his mind babble and grabbed the water with his mind. He stretched the water to be a thin sheet almost the size of a window. He then floated this clear sheet of glassy water to fit perfectly in place of the main gate.
"Lets climb this tree Chris!" Jon started climbing the tree. He wanted a good view point for when people would walk into their watery doom. Once he was up in the tree he threw down his hand to help Chris up. He was going to love this. Jon was sure of it.
Chris watched as the water stretched and formed into a barrier across the gate. Anyone walking through would get a very wet surprise, even more so if it was ice cold. When Acuamo suggested going up a tree Chris waited for Acuamo to climb up before climbing into the tree using his extensive Parkour skills and a handy nearby fence. There were something's Chris couldn't or wouldn't do. But climbing trees, that's something that he always had time for. Chris stopped when he was on an adjacent branch to Acuamo and with a good view of the gate. Chris always found I fun to show off his non-powered skills. Less people had issues with them for starters. Not that Acuamo had shown any issues with anything so far. Turning to face said person Chris asked "I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that Acuamo is not your real name?" He let the unspoken question hang amid the remains of humor Tha died with his joke.
Jon was impressed Chris was able to climb thee tree with such skill. He gave a shy smile at the "on a limb" joke. "I see what you did there!" Jon exclaimed. "Yeah. My real name is Jon. I don't introduce myself that way though because you can never be ti sure 2nd is a creeper and who isn't." He pointed to a mutant with a long creepy Tail staring at some Under aged kids. "Like that guy." Jon tried to make light of the situation. He didn't want Chris to think Jon thought he was a creep. "How'd you know?" Jon asked curiously.
"I see what you did there!" Chris lifted his hands in the air and exclaimed "Finally, someone acknowledges my jokes!". After grabbing a nearby branch to steady himself he continued "I make these jokes for years and the only person to respond is a cute guy I met a today." Chris's mouth shut like a trap door. God now he wished he had fallen out of the tree. Sticking his head out and looking towards the sheet of water to hide the blush growing he attempted to change the topic. "I uhh, knew, well guessed really, cuz a lot of people tend to have code-names relating to their powers. And it sounded like it was water related, like your powers. It was a blind guess really. Personally I never bothered with code-names, not powerful enough or known enough to use them."
Jon watched the boy blush. He liked seeing him this way. He looked happy. "I try to have a sense of humor in these dark times." Jon said changing the mood a bit.
"Well, you're right. I derived my name from the word aqua. Putting a C in there to make it less obvious and adding the MO for Missouri. That's where my mother died." Jon was confused when the boy said he wasn't powerful. He looked at Chris with a serious stare. "Chris, we are only as powerful as our minds allow us. You took down an entire airport. Imagine instead that the airport were a mall on Black Friday where everyone was getting a new TV for only fifty dollars." He continued to stare into Chris' eyes. "You take down that mall and thousands of people would lose their lives. That is significant power." He let go of the boys gaze. Imagining thousands of people dying is something Jon had never done before. He just now realized how possible it really is with these powers.
