The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mirror hung up the phone a split second before someone spoke up behind him.
>>"Er, Mirror?... Presumably? Yeah, you seem to have my body, and I seem to have yours, and I don't know about you, but I really want mine back."
Mirror jumped and let out a very undignified yelp, turning to see who spoke in such a familiar voice.
It was him. Well, her. It was Maya. It was Danny in Maya's body.
"Danny, WHAT THE HELL?!" he snapped on instinct. It was obviously all Danny's fault. All of it.
Mirror stared for a couple of seconds, breathing deep to calm down. He had more things to worry about than just staring at herself. Somewhere in the Mansion a rebel was in Sam's body, and Sam... was between a baby and Aura somewhere else.
"Uh... okay. Yes. It seems like we have each other's bodies. And it's not just us, so we gotta swap back like ASAP and go clean this mess up. Um... Any idea how?..."
"Danny, WHAT THE HELL?!" Okay, it was really disorienting to have your own self yelling at you, presuming that this shitstorm was your fault. And it most definitely wasn't. He wanted his body back as much as Mirror did. Maybe more, considering that he was at least used to switching genders daily, and since he wasn't the one entirely lacking self-preservation and now in a very mortal body. Mirror-Danny stared unnervingly at him for a couple of seconds as Danny shifted nervously under his stare. His own stare. Wow. No wonder he was really good at getting people to agree with him. But after a few seconds, he stopped hyperventilating and staring threateningly at Danny, instead speaking again, but more calmly.
"Uh... okay. Yes. It seems like we have each other's bodies. And it's not just us, so we gotta swap back like ASAP and go clean this mess up. Um... Any idea how?..."
"If I knew, I'd have done it already," Danny said, shrugging. Which was, once again, unnerving. Why the hell was his voice this high? The worst part was that his subconscious was trying to get him to speak at his regular timbre, but his new biology wasn't having it, leading to Danny's constant paranoia of a horribly embarrassing voice crack. "And, um, I'd like to apologize in advance to what I do with your body - wait." He froze for a second, comprehending what he'd just said, before rapidly backtracking. "Okay, no, that is in no way what I intended to say, that came out a lot dirtier than intended - I meant injuries. Because my self-preservation is horribly skewed. Like this one." And he raised Maya's left arm, wincing at the foreign limbs, turning it to show the long, jagged cut on the bottom of the forearm. "Smashed a window by accident while trying to get out of it. Your power set requires a lot more control than mine does, but I'm not used to consciously using my mutation. So shit happens." At this point, he was well aware he was rambling, but had kept going because he was relatively sure that if he stopped to consider the absurdity of the situation, he might just go insane.
"Alright," he finally spoke again, after a bit of a pause. "I don't know how to fix this. I'm assuming it's another mutant, but he or she'd have to be a damn strong one to do it to the whole city - and I'm assuming it's the whole city too, because the Mansion and my place are very, very far away. Any ideas on who it may be, though? If we track him or her down, that may be a solution."
Feel free to go for killshots. I don't mind - but you probably will. Danny speaks in flame red.

"OH COME ON!" Mirror whined (at least it was Danny's voice) "That's gonna leave a mark!"
It would. DocProf never healed Mirror up full, except for special occasions. He said scars were good reminders to watch the **** out next time.
DocProf. Mirror paled for a second. If there was someone else in the healer's body, hell was going to break loose very soon in the Mansion...

"We need to get back to the Mansion" Mirror decided "There is... someone else in Sam's body, and she really has no business being there. And we are assuming Sam is in her body, which is even worse, because she has a baby, and she is dating a psychopath."
Fun family times.
"You need to get me back to the Mansion. If we can hold our sh*t together long enough to track the mutant that caused this... Well, I call first dibs on them."
Mirror looked at herself - Dannyself - and sighed.
"I should put on clothes first, though. Anything I need to know about your powers? I'm not gonna spontaneously combust, am I?"
"OH COME ON!" Mirror whined very loudly in his voice, and he cringed, unaware that his real body's voice even went up that high. "That's gonna leave a mark!"
...oops.
It seemed Mirror had made a decision as to what their next move would be, though. "We need to get back to the Mansion. There is... someone else in Sam's body, and she really has no business being there. And we are assuming Sam is in her body, which is even worse, because she has a baby, and she is dating a psychopath."
Danny blinked. Sam? He had no idea who Sam was, but from the way Mirror spoke about the situation, he was going to assume that this Sam was not particularly fond of bad guys or children. Probably one of those militant hardasses you always saw on TV.
lYou need to get me back to the Mansion. If we can hold our sh*t together long enough to track the mutant that caused this... Well, I call first dibs on them." Very good plan, and he nodded to show his agreement. He had high doubts Mirror was going to be able to do much in his less-than-physically-fit body, but he wasn't going to stop her from trying.
"I should put on clothes first, though. Anything I need to know about your powers? I'm not gonna spontaneously combust, am I?" Right. He had a pretty specific idea of how Mirror's powers worked, but he was relatively sure he hadn't told her any specifics. It wasn't too complex of a power, anyway, so it should be fine. He was just glad he slept in a t-shirt and shorts, and not in the nude. That would've been awkward.
Well, it was still awkward. But moving on.
"Er, clothes are in the dresser," he said, motioning in its general direction. "I don't know if you want me to leave as you change because it's my body anyway, but just let me know. I suppose I'll just have to run around in your pajamas, though." As he said that, he moved towards the bathroom, opening the medicine cabinet. In the back was a small panel, and he pushed it, with it swinging open to reveal one of his many favored knives in a sheath, along with a Glock 27. He took them out and closed the panel and cabinet, and was about to strap the knife around his torso before he realized that may not be the most comfortable place to put it. He stood there for an awkward second or two, trying to figure out how to arm himself in a not-too-visible yet comfortable way, before finally strapping in around his/Maya's stomach instead, cursing the fact that he wasn't used to carrying a knife in his belt. Thankfully, as he headed back out and threw on a jacket that had been casually tossed onto the back of a chair, he'd had the foresight to purchase jackets with pockets specifically for carrying concealed weapons, and he tucked the Glock into a pocket made just for that. After arming himself, he decided to speak again.
"Uh, powers. See that gauntlet? On your/my left hand? Just avoid snapping with that hand, and if you do, just snap again to turn it off. Definitely don't poke yourself after you've activated it, because it's like a taser. Feel free to try and use it in combat, though, but it's not too strong. Also, that red button on it? Do not touch it. It's a suicide button, and will kill you and trigger a rebirth, which will incinerate everything in your general vicinity. Other than that, handling my mutation is really straightforward - if you're gonna die, do it away from me. Oh, wait. Increased body heat - if you cut yourself, don't be worried if the blood starts steaming a little. That's normal. And it may be a little uncomfortably warm, but it won't burn you or anyone else. That's it, though. Ready to head back to the Mansion, or do you want to grab some weapons from my armory first?" He really needed to move his extensive armory somewhere else. Maybe he'd find somebody to manage it for him in the future, but for now, he was lucky the supplies were there.
Feel free to go for killshots. I don't mind - but you probably will. Danny speaks in flame red.
