The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Kid you really should take me up on that offer and walk."
Alex kept back, mostly because he already knew the kid's range. The fire didn't last very long but it was hot enough to burn a lot on contact. At least that's what he was betting. He had been lucky enough to actually avoid being hit. He should probably warn the bar owner about that about that. "Mr.Peterson, I'd suggest staying out of his range."
He pulled on the material around him forming a few dogs, hollow inside, but functional. It'd get the job done. The dogs snapped and growled, beginning to circle around the fuming elemental, just outside his range. "You think I'll just run away! You got another thing comin' old man!"Gold-eyes launched fireballs, intent on hitting Randy or Alex, if not destroying the place.
>> "Mr.Peterson, I'd suggest staying out of his range."
Randy shrugged, dodging wasn't that hard for him. Personally he'd rather keep Golden-eyes aiming closer to him. Not getting the bar set on fire was a bit of a priority for Randy. Bringing his fists up he settled into a light boxing stance. He couldn't throw his weight into a punch as well but he could turn quickly after a quick port to the side or behind Golden-eyes.
>> "You think I'll just run away! You got another thing comin' old man!"
The first fireball flew right at Randy. He kind of expected that and ported five feet to the left. Too far to hit the kid but he needed to learn a bit more about what the kid could do before diving in. That's when he noticed the dogs. Apparently Alex's since the bar was empty at this point. More fireballs brought his attention back to Golden-eyes. They scattered across the area he had been standing some fizzling out, others catching the tables and floor on fire. "D*****! Alex tell your dogs to bite him already!"

"D*****! Alex tell your dogs to bite him already!"
Alex was jolted by the demand, he had been looking for an opening that wouldn't bring harm to his constructs. They were hollow, so they weren't too sturdy and he didn't know if he had the energy or the material to make more. But now..."Thanks, now he's going to have his guard up!"
He did it anyway having the dogs attack from two different sides. "You guys suck at this!" Gold-eyes laughed, throwing a fireball at the first dog and thankfully missing, only to squawk when the second latched on to his arm. He struggled with the second beast, forgetting the first before it latched onto his other arm.
"You were saying!"Alex laughed, mentally cheering on the dogs to keep him steady so Randy would have an opening to throw a punch.
Randy wasn't really paying attention to the complaint. When someone has you clearly outmatched you need to knock them out before they get settled.
>> "You guys suck at this!"
The irony hit immediately as Golden-eyes fireball missed the dogs. One bit down on his left arm followed by the other on his right. As long as they held him Randy could line up a few good hits. As long as it didn't turn out Golden-eyes could breath fire as well. Randy ported right in front of Golden-eyes already aimed for a punch. Throwing his weight into it Randy landed a hard jab into his stomach, twisting his fist as he did. A very illegal move in boxing. Mostly because you could seriously injure the other person. Golden-eyes seemed like he could take a few punches though. "You come in here and trash my bar thinking you'd get away with it?"

Alex winced as Randy laid in a beat down on gold-eyes. The kid didn't remain standing for long, gasping for air. Alex couldn't see it from where he was standing but the dogs did. Randy had twisted his fist for some reason. He couldn't figure out why though.
"You come in here and trash my bar thinking you'd get away with it?"
Gold-eyes coughed and glared up at the older man. The moment of angry silence was cut short by the sound of sirens. Someone must have called the police. Gold-eyes took this temporary distraction to suddenly light the dogs on fire through his arms, forcing them to let go. Both Alex and the canines yelped in pain, the young mutant having to release the constructs, letting them turn back to dust.
The flame mutant was up and stumbling for the door way once free. This fight just wasn't fun any more.
Randy watched Golden-eyes quickly burn the dogs then bolt for the door. Let him go, Randy thought, he wasn't worth the effort. "Alex. I'm guessing you don't want to be here when the cops walk in. Head out through my office. Walk don't run, they probably wont stop you for anything."
Looking back at the aftermath of the fight Randy saw nothing but dollar signs. Almost all of the damage was from the fireballs. It was better to just replace the furniture than attempt repairs. He could figure out what he would do for it later. In the mean time he went over a mental dialog of what he would tell the police when the questioning came up.

Alex stood there catching his breath while the kid ran for it and after a moment glanced up at the older man spoke. Cops were on their way, yeah, he didn't want any part of that. It was enough trouble being a mutant in this town without a record to prove it.
So he nodded, "Right, thanks Mr.Peterson." and took Randy's advice about walking, not running, out of the building. Just in time too, as the cops and a firetruck rolled up. How nice, someone called in the fire too. He didn't stick around long enough to see what happened. He was going home where he'd be safer and out of the way of anybody who might be looking to maim him. And he was definitely not going to tell anybody. As far as they knew, he just went for a late night stroll downtown.
