The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Clyde's eyes rolled as he listened to Joy's rant. Agreed, giant acid-spitting worm monsters that tunneled beneath cities were plain old preposterous. But this was a simulation, not real life. At the moment, the fantastical creature was very real.
"$#!^!" he yelped when Joy yanked him by the arm, forcing him to run as fast as her. Oww oww oww the foot! His frickin' injured (and possibly in need of stitches) foot! Every step he took triggered a stinging pain. Grr, it was her fault he was barefoot in the first place because she stole his shoes!
Yet, pain or no pain, he had to run. As he ran with her, he did his best to ignore the pain, as well as her accusations. Unfortunately, the creature was still on their six o'clock. Help had better be coming soon.
If they got out of this alive, Joy Rider was going to be in so much trouble.

The broken glass that littered the buildings and streets began trembling, reacting to something new and unseen. Each little bit of broken windows that surrounded Clyde and Tses flipped back and forth, rattling harder and sounding like some sort of alien bacon sizzling. Then the motion froze, the glass shards pointed side up tilted, took aim, and flew up and outwards, heading straight to the monster that was terrorizing the two reluctant Danger Room occupants. No sooner had the glass taken flight then a new creature rose up. This one was made of concrete and like the glass, paid no attention to Clyde or Tses. It was about six foot tall and broad in the chest.
One mighty hand swung at the acid spitting creature and knocked it to the ground. As the creature followed through it looked almost as if it were melting down into the ground on top of it. Down the street walked a young man, clad in the uniform of the X-Men but lacking any sort of footwear. And he looked pissed. There was no flinching as he walked over the glass that had fallen after his first strike against. Nor was there any concern for the possibility of more of those creatures popping up on him. He could tell where the tunnels are, they felt like an empty spot beneath his feet.
If it was backup that Clyde wanted, it was backup that he got. Locke, better known as Earthwalker, had been planning a session for himself, a chance to get some focus and prepare for the next week. He had not been expecting for a scenario to already be running, and he certainly didn't plan on having to rescue people who shouldn't even be in there. "Now do either of you want to tell me what the hell is going on?" Locke asked them, arms crossed. The beast that he had attacked earlier was getting up, and he responded by raising a golem in front of the two who were in trouble and the creature.
Tses was somewhat torn as the new figure stepped into view. On the one hand, she was relieved someone was here who could deal with the monsters and the crazy room they were trapped in. On the other, his demeanor and response to their presence warned her he was unhappy to find them here. So, she did the only thing she could think of.
She pointed a figure at Clyde. "It was his fault."
Sidestepping away from some of the monsters, she glared at the kid pointedly. "I don't know my way around the mansion. He never told me you have a frickin' room that attacks people when you walk into it."

Clyde breathed a sigh of relief when a third mutant showed up. Soon, rubble monsters appeared to protect them. Rubble monsters. Yet another mutation Clyde would have preferred.
Anyways, it was no surprise that the man was upset with them for being in the restricted room. Sadly, before Clyde got the chance to tell him the real story, Joy, the (wo)man-child she was, pointed the finger at him. She couldn't be serious.
“Really?!” Clyde shouted over the ruckus. “Pinning the blame on me?! That's real mature! Like I said, this is the first time I've been-”
There was a loud screech from the creature. Right, that was still there. Okay, maybe he should stay quiet and let the guy with the rubble monsters deal with it so no one got killed.

It was hard to pull the wool over Earthwalker's eyes, even if you were someone that knew him well. He continued to stare down the two Danger Room stowaways, his face clearly saying "I ain't buying it." Getting into the Danger Room was not something that happened casually. It wasn't like opening a closet door, thinking it was the exit door. Safety protocols were built into it. So even if the two had just wandered into here on a whim, something that Locke found hard to believe, it would not have started up a program without being given the command to do so. "You're really going to play the finger pointing game? My little brother stopped that years ago and he's younger than you both."
Locke sighed and with a twitch of his fingers the giant rock monster, known best as Fluffy, went charging off to fight the creature that the Danger Room program had created. His head had not changed position, but no longer was the Earthwalker looking at Tses or Clyde. There was a glassy quality to his eyes, as if he were staring thousands of years into the future. Over the years he had gotten very skilled with his powers. Skilled enough that he was able to talk to people while still operating Fluffy. No matter how talented he got though, Earthwalker would always have that distant look on his face when using his powers. It went hand in hand with having to split his mind up.
"Terminate program, authorization Earthwalker code seven Mai alpha,"[/color] Locke barked out at last. In a very tidy manner the program started shutting down, taking with it the ruined cityscape and Fluffy. Locke felt a shudder travel through his body. It had felt like he had stepped into a pool of water that had been slicked with oil. "Now let's try this again, but this time with the truth. Or else you're going to have to go through my planned session and it sure as hell is worse than that."
Tell the truth. Yeah, like that would happen. Tses crossed her arms sourly and glared at the older mutant. Maybe it wasn't the most appropriate thing to do when you were caught out of bounds, but she was sick of getting bossed around by these mansion know it alls. Technically, they had just wandered into the room. It wasn't like she had tricked blondie into turning the room on.
It was her verses the bratty kid. The only consulation was he seemed mad at both of them. "Someone was walking out, we ran in. You guys are the ones with the frickin' monsters built into your mutant manor. Clearly, you have some security issues." She should have felt relieved to be rescued. Maybe she should beg to get out of there. But she was somewhat irritated he didn't even begin to consider someone else was equally responsible for their hijacking of the Danger Room.

Planned session? Nope, nope, nope. There was no way he was going to go through a Danger Room session again. At least the incident was not his fault, so he had a good chance of avoiding the punishment. Clyde opened his mouth to speak, but the joyride lady beat him to it. Though, surprisingly, what she said wasn't completely inaccurate.
“Yeah, Evelyn was coming out when we came in,” he explained to the male mutant. He then shot a glare a the joyride lady. “SOMEONE stole my shoes, so I was trying to get them back. That's why I chased her in heah. Then Evelyn accidentally switched this thing on from outside, and you know the rest. Why isn't there an emergency off switch?”

"We do have security measures put in place. The Danger Room is down here in the sublevels where there is no reason to go unless you are hurt or a member of the X-Men. The Danger Room only opens when it is given an authorization code by a member of the X-Men. Students aren't allowed in unless accompanied by an X-Men, and if you didn't notice, I had a kill switch so if someone is stupid enough to come in here without a responsible adult they won't get themselves killed." He was willing to accept that maybe there had been some sort of glitch with the programming that had let the Danger Room started up without a member of the team inside or at the control panel. What Locke had a hard time buying though was that they had innocently run into here.
"And of course you couldn't have known that, I mean it wasn't as though someone had been standing in here, trying to tell you that it was dangerous, right?"He was looking very intently at the girl when he said that. Lack of shoes on feet gave more weight to the boy's argument than what the lady said.
Tses help up her hands and shrugged her shoulders. "Don't look at me. I don't live here. If you want to have death traps around where shoeless kids can get trapped in, that that seems to be your liability issue." She crossed her arms and glared at the guy. While she did steal the kids shoes, she was frustrated that the part he seemed to doubt was the true part. The room did glitch out, so it wasn't entirely her fault.
Not like she knew this place was all top secret and craziness.
"And he got his shoes back. Don't see what he's whining about."

“I just wanted my shoes back from her. I know I wasn't supposed to be in heah, but Evelyn was so I didn't think it would actually turn on. Honest,” Clyde admitted to the mutant who'd rescued them. He didn't appreciate the scrutiny, but running into a place that was restricted for a reason did look very, very bad.
As for the joyride lady, he was a lot more irritated with her at that moment. “You. Neahly. Got. Me. Killed,” he growled. Somehow, she didn't seem to comprehend why he found the incident nerve-raking, which, as he was figuring out, was par for her.
The stabbing pain Clyde felt when he shifted his weight to his other foot reminded him of his injury. Wincing as he lifted it up, he could see that his right foot was still bleeding. “Can I get this patched up befoh I have to fill out a report or something?”
