The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Thanks, Chase!" Thank baby Jesus that there was a faceshifter on campus. And that he had no problem with Jude borrowing his power!
The Frenchman backed out of Chase's room and into the boys hall with incredible giddiness. It was clear from the glint in his eye that he was up to something, but with this many mutant kids around, the adults couldn't keep them all from mischief. Besides... this wasn't that bad.
He just had to get there without getting stopped.
Jude casually made his way to the stairs and then took them at a jog that, by the end of the staircase, had Jude tearing through the Mansion at a run.
That's how he ended up careening around an over sized feather pillow and very nearly barreling through the guy those feathers were attached to. Unable to swerve out of the way, Jude's shoulder clipped into the stranger and the smaller boy bounced right off of him.
"Contact. Whoops! Hold up." Jude closed his eyes and held up his hands as if to say 'just wait' while he took a breath and tried to feel out his mutation. Did he swap? If so he was going to have to go all the way back... No. The teen huffed a sigh of relief. His power was still satiated from it's last change.
"Sorry." Jude opened his eyes to check over the other guy. "I'm... sort of on a mission." And the guy didn't seem to be bleeding... Jude craned his neck to see around him. So close!
Less then three hours here and he's already being trampled. The small boy with his hair in a feathery mess, and a look of adventure in his eye, had clipped Al's wing while in what appeared to be the rush of his life. The muscles in his wing simply shuttered but it seemed to bounce the boy off slightly.
>>"Contact. Whoops! Hold up."
A tinge of a french accent was apparent. At least he wasn't the only person born out of the country, now back to the matter at hand. Was contact with another mutant a bad thing? Had he gotten blood on his wing? Blood was so hard to get out of his feathers. Why was he looking up towards him now?
"What's the rush Voltaire? Anything I'm missing out on?"
He was hoping the slight sarcasm wasn't too much for the boy, he truly was wondering if he was missing out on something.
The rush? "I don't want to get caught." Jude admitted it freely. "I checked the schedule and there's a window of free time where the Danger Room is not booked. I know a way in, but it's gotta be now." In fact... Jude looked at his new pal. He looked older. Perhaps old enough to get in legitimately. He could be a good excuse should they get caught... "You wanna come?"
Either way, Jude was going. He slipped around his feathered friend and jogged so incredibly CASUALLY through the living room and toward the shiny, metal set of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs was an equally austere hallway where not a stray bit of dirt dared linger. Doors dotted the hall. Boring stuff like locker rooms and slightly less boring stuff like the War Room.
Jude's footsteps echoed down the hallway as his shoes slapped against the metallic floor. He trotted past all the doors with knobs until he came to stop in front of a roundish one wide enough to accommodate a full team of mutants and all the machismo they could carry.
The door was sealed with only a rectangular electrical screen by the side. Jude didn't trust his power to be accurate enough for fingerprints, but he did happen to have a couple verbal commands to try. The Frenchman closed his eyes and dropped his chin to his chest as he concentrated.
He accessed Chase's power and imagined Saphirus. Big, dumb, X-man with access Saphirus. He focused on the way he remembered him looking, the way he moved, but he especially focused on the way he sounded. Jude's skin rippled and chunks began to turn like the twistings of a rubix cube until Jude stood taller and buffer and looking quite the Saphirus clone.
He fished a crumpled piece of paper out of his pocket and cleared his now grown up throat.
"Computer, lock door for one hour and enable student commands under voice authorization Masochist 45132, voice recognition... Bunny suit Andrea. Open door."
For a breath, the computer processed his command and Jude second guessed himself. Did he hesitate when he said the authorization phrase? Did he not hesitate enough?
The computer bleeped it's recognition and the doors hushed open into empty white space.
>>"I don't want to get caught." Jude admitted it freely. "I checked the schedule and there's a window of free time where the Danger Room is not booked. I know a way in, but it's gotta be now."
Get caught? Danger room? The french boy now had Al's undivided attention. A little bit of trouble on his first day? if that didn't show how rebellious and cool he was, he had no idea why he watched those pointless teen shows.
>>"You wanna come?"
Before Al could even remotely blurt out "Yes." the boy was already making his way through the living room and down the hallway. As the boy hastily ran, it only took simple strides for Al to stay right on his heels, but his eyes were in no way following the boy. The tapestries and carpeting was soon replaced with a shining metallic floor that carried all the way to the ceiling. Almost completely reflective, He no longer had to watch his steps by looking forward, he could watch them from whatever wall was next to them. They must have reached their destination, the cue being the sudden halt at what looked liked the biggest doors in this hallway of metal mirrors. Before Alphonse could lean down and ask what exactly the danger room was, the boy began doing something...odd. His face began morphing and slowly began reforming into that of a more rugged adult..
>> "Computer, lock door for one hour and enable student commands under voice authorization Masochist 45132, voice recognition... Bunny suit Andrea. Open door."
Al couldn't tell if maybe the boy had taken drugs, but his face changing form and uttering random words was definitely not normal. But his could and new face seemed to have given them access to this bulking door and there was no turning back now.
"One hour." Jude's body looked to be deflating as he walked forward into the enormous white space. The teen rubbed his hands together as the doors hushed closed behind them. He stumbled as his balance changed and their all white surroundings no longer helped orient direction.
Once Jude was Jude again he touched his hand to his head for a brief moment. Ugh. Transformation sickness. He just had to stand still until he felt like himself again.
Since he had not loaded a program, a single podium raised from the floor with a touch screen at its apex. "So what do you want to do?" All malaise forgotten, Jude flipped through the scenarios.
"We got evil robots take Manhattan. Judo practice. Running? Lame. Just go run outside." He sorted through a few more options. "Dinosaurs. Attack of the antidisestablishmentarians. Benjamin Franklin. Killer Christmas trees." Don't laugh. It happened. "Pretty much anything you can imagine, this magic machine can make happen." Jude pat the podium lovingly. Who wouldn't want to spend every day in here?
