The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He ignored her, he blatantly ignored her. Oh yes, walking into a unknown dangerous trap is by far a better plan then trying to spring it with everyone away from harm. The chains sprang out from the wall, pulling the bits of plaster away with them, and like a beast the warrior was trapped with in. A creaking noise sounded from within the walls as the chains strained to tighten still, forcing the warrior onto his knees. The only obstacle between the crushing chains and his fragile bones was his armour, which she concluded was clearly something quite extraordinary to withhold the pressure it was currently under.
It took all her self control not to smirk, as she looked on as the overconfident, arrogant warrior fought to move at all. What was it they say?..Oh yes, good things come to those who wait. How true, how true. He was forced to ask for her help, rather humiliating in her opinion especially since he had been the one to just challenge her about her powers, the please she had to admit was a nice touch. I’m going to enjoy this. If it hadn’t been for the fact hunter was following she probably would have given into the temptation and left him there -that would teach him to ignore her. Under the circumstances, however, she figured working together probably included getting your ‘team-mate’ out from stupid situations they shouldn’t be stuck in the first place. Oh well. She walked over slowly, looking down at him, not allowing any emotion to play across her face. She knew that showing no signs of emotion, smugness in this case, or speaking would be worse for him than portraying any; since it made her seem above the situation entirely, so she enjoyed it silently.
The heavy chains looked too much for her Kris to take, so she bent and picked up his short sword, since it had already proved it could deal with the chains. Slowly, purposefully, she circled him, cutting the chains with a monitored flick of her wrist. Once he was freed, she passed him his weapon, speaking as she did so, “Shall we proceed, and preferably with some foresight this time”. Not waiting for an answer she strode towards the next door.

Hades looked on glumly as yet another light on the board went out, at the rate they were going they would be here soon. How? How could they be going through his traps so fast? he gazed around the control room, now so empty, all because of these, these.. these, things, organisms, that were cursed with the gift of life, they had to poke their noses into his personal space, attack with guns. Hades did not know any one of them and nothing that he had done in the past related to them, Why? Why did they have to disturb him from remembering his friends, the vermin. He brooded, as he gazed around the long dimly lit room. His chair had been set in the far corner and a suit of armor wearing a death mask sat on it. On the walls either side of the chair sat the empty hulk of the control panels that he once used to issue orders to his remote network of hideouts and bases most of which now lay dormant. Leaving the control room, he preceded down the hallways to check on the state of his guests. Then he went to the area below his normal area where his friends each had their own personal space. He went primarily to check on how the droids were doing and to see ho much of their stuff had yet to be removed but also he went back to reminisce. As he looked at each event that a small space is the Remembered times that he had spent with them brought back many memories, some happy some sad, most of them happy. As he spent time there he calmed down and realized that as this lab probably was recorded in some military history and maybe someone had come to check out what had become of it. And was that he went back to the control room to see where his guests were up to

As she moved across the room toward him, she showed no emotion on her face. But Shogun could see otherwise. She was definitely feeling smug, though he wasn't sure why. It made sense, the easiest way to find a trap is to spring it, and the best thing to spring the trap with would be the one that was most likely to be able to take it. And it had worked. Mostly. He relinquished his sword, allowing her to remove the chains, and then took it back. "Thank you." Foresight would indeed be useful. Shame it would only work if there was a living trap somewhere up ahead. He headed for the door as well, and since she seemed so determined to be ahead of him, he let it be. If she wondered into a trap and got killed, it would be her fault.
(OOC Hades i hope you don't mind if this time the pressure plates are set off by a light object, a radio in fact, just to demonstrate the possibility, if you mind PM me and I'll change it)
She came to the entrance and stopped suddenly, this room was different. It was more like a large corridor, but what sent the alarm bells ringing in her mind was the metal floor. With the rest of the complex having stone floors, she doubted this one was different for the sake of variation, in fact the glimmering floor seemed somewhat ominous. Secondly, looking around at the room she noticed smalls holes randomly placed within both walls – they don’t look so friendly either. What, however, concerned her most were the thin beams of light, beyond visible light, that crisscrossed the corridor. They had one purpose and one purpose only - to detect anything that disturbed the beam, and then to set something off. The basic light activated active sensor. What it set off she didn’t know, and to be honest she was quite content without that knowledge.
She put her hand up, signaling to the warrior not to go any further, and she hoped he would pay her heed this time. She knew she could easily manipulate the light so they could pass undetected, but reasoned that there might just be more to it than that, so for the minute she left it. She reasoned this would be a valid time to continue with the throwing-the-radio-about plan. It was tossed a couple of meters into the corridor, and on impact with the floor, was destroyed. The tile it landed upon, in addition to the six adjacent tiles, had opened up allowing various weapons to shot. If that wasn’t enough, as it passed through several of the detecting beams in its flight, three lethal sharpened stone spears shot out from the wall and embedded themselves in the opposite wall. “Ahhh, crossing may not be that easy” But cross we must, hmmm… She continued speaking to him, while staring out at the floor in front of them. “The spears are controlled by motion sensors which I can alter but I can’t do anything about the floor, can you?”.

Shogun decided to paid heed to the girl, as she seemed to have an intelligent plan regarding the strange floor/holes. She threw her radio into the room, causing stone spears to shoot out of the wall, and upon impact with the floor, it was annihilated by several different weapons that raised up out of the floor. Hmm. This could be tricky.
"I can't exactly fly, but this may work. Does the floor have a limited number of activations? Because we may be able to cause it to go off in a line from here to the other side of the room, so we can walk down it." e wasn't sure what they'd do if it had more than one activation per plate, but one problem at a time. First, they had to see if they only activated once.

(ooc guys they have unlimited number of activations, so you will ahve to find a way to deal with it, there is a way trust me, and I dont mind using a radio, im assuning it was a rather heavy radio in the first place and you threw it with some force)
Interesting. If he was right then it would be relevantly easy, if he was wrong, however,....So, question one: do they only activate once. That one she felt she could handle, all she needed was another object.... Having nothing spare, she then looked around for inspiration, hers gaze fell upon the strands of abandoned chain from the last room. She quickly went to retrieve a short section of chain and brought in back. Right then, throw it onto the same tile and if its still there after it lands we're set. The trajectory was perfect, mirroring the last one exactly, as before the javelins were too slow to hit and so joined their fellows in the wall. Then the weapons opened fire, it was destroyed. Damn. It had been a good plan, its flaw being it had had relied on one point, one point that turned out to be untrue. Okay, new plan needed. What do i know: touch the floor you die. Right, so two approaches either don't touch the floor or somehow take out the weapons. And none of us can fly so..or can we? A idea was forming from the mists of the depths of her mind. They didn't need to fly they just needed not to touch the floor, and there just happened to be holes all around the room...Hand holes, grips, as long as she insured no javelins sprouted out of them. It would be hard, and if one of them fell, that'll be it, but currently it was the best she had. "We could climb, using the holes" she suggested. Luckily enough the inventor had been so thoughtful to insure javelins shoot out of all the walls, including the one where their doorway was, so they could make to the main wall, and then it was a matter of climbing. "The javelins respond to the light sensors, so they won't be a problem." She finished, hoping he had a better plan, saner preferably, but if not...

OOC: will my anti-metal armour stop the weapons (obviously not the javilins, but the ones that pop out of the ground)? Because then Shogun can quite happily ctivate each pad in turn, and hack the weapons to pieces lol
IC: Climbing. In full samurai armour. And trying to bring a full platoon of men through after them. Right. "I'm not sure that's a good idea. You may be able to manage it, but I am wearing heavy armour, and we have to bring a full platoon of men after us. I feel a thrid plan may be needed." At this rate, they'd run out of plans. Right, go through it step by step. Stepping on tiles equals death. Doesn't it? Hmm. Maybe his armour would stop it. But those javelins... "What are the projectiles made out of?"

(occ if you activate ur mag field you can pass wothout activating the pads as you would be placing your waight on the support struts between the plates, and sorry shogun ur metal armour will not stop plasma cannons and laser cannons etc, and the projectiles are stone the once which fire from the wall
Other people, a common flaw. She let out a quiet sigh, as she realised that yet another plan would be needed. She figured she could probably cross, but she hadn’t even taken into consideration that he had armour, constricting his movement, or that there were others following. She listened to his question tentatively hoping that is was leading up to a solution. “They look like there stone,” Which was odd in itself. “but they’re activated by the motion sensors, which I can manipulate, so they’re not a problem. It’s the floor I don’t know what to do about, but as soon as we have a solution I’ll be able to insure the sensors don’t detect our movement.” As soon as , standing in for if ever if they ever did of course. She quickly pushed doubt away from her mind and reassessed the situation once more. Her thoughts worked over the problem, but each possible solution was shortly followed by a flaw of some sort. They just needed something else, but as she went through what she knew her powers could do for the tenth time, she concluded it wasn’t going to come from her; pressure traps activated weapons were not her forte.

Shogun nodded. The javelins were no longer a problem, they just had to deal with the motion sensors. "I have an idea. My armour repels metals, maybe I can step across. But it doesn't solve how we're going to get everyone else across..." This was involving too much thinking. There had to be a simple solution, they were just missing it. Had to take it one step at a time. He thoght out loud to himself; "Just have to get across. Have to do so without touching the floor. That would require flying. Or swinging." He turned to Nox, "Do you know if any of the men have some sort of grappling device? We could as Antonescu, but you 'experimented' with the radio he gave you. You can probably run faster than me, go find out.[/color]" If the men could use a grappling device, then they could swing across. Just got to be careful that you don't fall.

(occ i mentioned in an eariletr post that the cut off power switch for the metal plates is around the coner at the far end of the room!!and the javelins were originally activated by motion sensors, but ill let you off for that one, i will change the eearlier post to light sensors, and way to go for the cool ideas, i would have never thought of those)
(OOC: Actually a magnetic repulsion field will stop a plasma cannon blast as the plasma is made of ions, all of which are charged and affected by magnetic fields. So if Nox can keep the lasers off him and he can dodge the stone spears Shogun could theoretically cross, but the plan you’re working on climbing is probably better. Plus I think it’s time Hunter did something useful. Mention the climbing idea and I’ll get us across )
Hunter caught up with Nox and Shogun. The pair seemed to have reached an obstacle that they could not traverse. Having seen the results of other traps he knew that this one must be pretty troublesome to stop the pair. Between them they had a diverse set of skills and equipment and he wondered what had stopped them.
“What seems to be the problem?” he asked as he looked out at the corridor. There was a metal floor and a series of holes in the walls. He could guess that something deadly emerged from the holes. As for the floor, a pressure sensor was probable, but he would wait for Shogun and Nox to tell him what had stopped them.
(OOC motion sensors either work with light or using sound, I simply specified I didn’t change it )
Nox felt hunter’s infrared signal while the warrior was speaking, and so turned to see him coming round the corner into the entranceway. An extra person could be just what they needed. What was the problem?, that at least she knew, the soltution on the other hand was another matter entirly. “The floor seems in be entirely made out of pressure plates with unlimited activations, and on impasct the tile, and its six adjactent tiles, reveal various weapons and annihilate the object in question,” like his radio, “There are also light activated motion sensors that trigger the stone javelins, but I can deal with those, so its just the floor we can’t deal with. We have come up with some solutions, like climbing or shogun simply walking across, but nothing that would let everyone across.” Hoping that Hunter would have the solution, she waited while the information sunk in.
Hunter looked out at the room for a moment. Yes, he could get them all across. “Nox,” he said, “keep those sensors off me, I’ll make us a crossing.” Turning back he walked back around the corner and reappeared with two large men, a large length of rope, a harness and lots of metal spikes. Nodding to the two men they boosted him ups so he could reach the ceiling.
Pulling out one of the spikes he slammed it up into the ceiling. From the main column of the spike three more shot out perpendicular to it, firmly anchoring it in the rock. Attaching his rope to the harness, and then the spike he had the two men pull on the rope and hoist him up to the ceiling. Once there he grabbed the spike in one hand, pulled out a new spike with the other, swung himself out as far into the corridor as he could and slammed the spike into the ceiling.
Quickly attaching his rope to it he pulled out another spike and repeated the process. Working swiftly and steadily he made his way down the corridor and was at the end soon enough. The men lowered him to the floor and he secured the rope at his end while they secured it at there’s. Now they had a secure line which with harnesses they could cross.
Hunter looked briefly around the corner and saw a control box of some description. Figuring that it wasn’t there to help them he slammed his fist through it, destroying the device. Wondering what effect that had had on the room he pulled out another spike and threw it in the metal floor. Nothing happened. So they could have just had Shogun walk across, destroy the device, and then all walk across. But they hadn’t known of the device’s existence, so he had made the right call. He now waited for the others to cross.
