The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She smirked. “Girls call boys they like ‘cute,’ last time I checked.” It may have a different meaning when applied to Clyde, but it was the same word.
“Like it or not, though, it’s something you’re stuck with. It’s better to embrace it than hate it.” Kind of like what the better-adjusted visible mutants seemed to be doing.
...You've heard stories about me? Don't listen to them! It's safe to sit next to me, really!

Clyde rolled his eyes. “Yeah, well, aimed at me, it's not the same.” Besides, his situation made it awkward to even think about having a girlfriend. Even though he was mentally old enough, the idea of kissing a girl in his unshifted form felt completely wrong, and it would probably feel completely wrong to the girl.
Indeed, he had to live with his mutation; it was something he didn't need to be reminded of. But to embrace it? “Theah's not really anything to embrace about it...”

"Hey, with a power like yours, you could --"
"Kaitlyn, is that you?" One of the older girls at Xavier's was calling at her through the hedges. The redhead stopped dead in her tracks. "The DocProf's been asking around for you. He said you're supposed to be at the Danger Room."
While the older girl spoke, Kaitlyn turned to Clyde and put a finger over her mouth. Then, she tiptoed away through the hedges as quickly and quietly as she could manage.

Kaitlyn tried to respond, but Clyde never had the chance to hear her finish. As soon as that other girl showed up, she was out of there. So, she was bailing on some Danger Room thing. That would explain why she resisted so much when he tried to take her to the DocProf.
All she said was that there was something he could do with his power. The age shifter pondered it a moment, but only a moment. It probably was something stupid, like wearing a ridiculous kid-sized Halloween costume or playing in the local fast food joint's pool of vile and hazardous filth that was also known as the ball pit. Nope, he couldn't think of anything cool he could do with his mutation.
