The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well, you are." Persi wasn't sure whether he was annoyed or amused by this. Some of both, probably, but he had no idea which was stronger. And perhaps a tiny, tiny bit guilty, but not much. Really, the brat from school and the (well, one of the many) nosy guy from this school turned out to be the same? What were the chances of that? It was too weird to be that annoyed by, he was busy shaking his head at reality.
Persi stared blandly up at the (now teenage again) brat. The attempt to loom over him might have been more effective if he hadn't just seen the guy trip and turn into a little kid. "Yeah, you made it pretty clear that you are."

“I AM NOT!” Clyde snapped, his stare getting angrier. He knew he shouldn't have yelled, but what the heck was he supposed to do to keep people from calling him a brat? There was nothing that worked! He certainly wouldn't have picked this dumb mutation if he had the choice. In Clyde's mind, it appeared the guy in front of him had gotten a lot luckier power-wise, and therefore, he was lording over him with that fact. And he was supposed to be the brat?
The age shifter crossed his arms and remained standing next to where the guy sat. “You've made it cleah to me that yo an arrogant jerk! You can't even remembah who you've been a jerk to,” he retaliated.

Persi let himself wince, and raised a hand to rub his ear. Well, that had been loud. Expected, but loud. It didn't make him any more impressed with the kid's claimed maturity. "Yeah, you are."
And apparently his intelligence hadn't caught up with his form, either. "You looking completely different and not giving any hint who you are has nothing to do with my memory. I recognized you as soon as you turned back into you." Persi smirked. "Unless this is you, and you just want to go to school as a kid for some reason...?"

“Am not,” Clyde grumbled. He really wished this jerk would quit insisting he was a brat. It was so inaccurate. And why was this guy complaining that he had no way of knowing who he was? He'd given hints all right. He'd mentioned they went to the same school, and that he'd been pretty rude to him. Of course, if this guy treated people that way all the time, maybe no one did leave an impression on him. Or, he was just a moron.
Either way, this jerk/moron was now wondering more about his mutation. This made Clyde very uneasy. He'd never be able to live it down if he had to explain it to him. “T-that's... none of yo business,” he stammered.

Apparently Persi had stumbled into something that the brat didn't want to talk about. The smirk stayed. "Of course not. But, you know... either you are a little kid, or you really want to be a little kid. Either way's not a good start to argue that you're grown up, you know." Persi shrugged. "I don't care which it is. You're still a brat either way."
A brat who was, once again, preventing Persi from drawing. That seemed to be what the brat did. Well... him, and everyone else in the Mansion. That might explain a lot about the brat, actually. Anyway, Persi didn't appreciate it. "Now, shoo."

Either he was a brat or was wanting to be one? What sort of ridiculous accusation was that? He might have looked like a kid, but Clyde knew he sure as hell didn't think like one. And he was certainly not trying to be one. That jerk needed to get his facts straight himself.
“I'm sixteen, and trust me, I'm not attempting to be a kid. Too bad I can't say the same fo you,” he retorted. His eyes narrowed further at the so-called artist. “And don't shoo me. I'm not a dog.” Seriously, why did people do that to kids? It was just plain demeaning.

People had two general responses to being annoyed, eventually. Either they got angry and attacked, or they gave up and tried to avoid whatever annoyed them. Well, or they cried, but the brat wasn't a girl, and seemed to be much more angry than anything else, so that wasn't likely. Persi wasn't too worried about being attacked--among other things, the kid had turned into a kid by falling, Persi was pretty sure he could make that happen again. And as for avoiding... well, that was Persi's goal, after all. And he wasn't hard to avoid, really, so all he had to do was give the brat a reason to avoid him.
So Persi reached up to flick the brat in the forehead. "Shoo."

Clyde saw the jerk move his hand towards his face, shooing him yet again. He leaned back a bit, though he didn't make too much of an effort to avoid the fingers, which flicked him on the forehead. His own hand moved up to lightly swat at them. Did this guy's parents never tell him that he was supposed to keep his hands to himself? Geez.
“Really?” he responded. His expression was flat. “Do you try that on everyone you meet?”
Now that he thought about it, he should have tried a little harder to avoid the jerk's hand. It wasn't that the flick hurt, but given that this was a mutant school, and he didn't know the guy's mutation, it could have just as easily been some sort of power attack. Whew, that was such a spooky thought.

"No, just the brats." The guy seemed to be less annoyed now. Weird; Persi had no idea why that would be. Hopefully he'd get annoyed again soon, though. Persi wasn't sure how else to get rid of him. "Other people leave when I tell them too."
Hm. How to get rid of him. Annoying him into leaving didn't seem to be working, and just telling him to leave clearly wasn't. Persi couldn't think of much else. "Don't you have something better to do than annoy me?"

Clyde glared at the guy when he heard that four letter term for the umpteenth time. Man, would he give up with the brat thing already? It was annoying and untrue. He still didn't think the jerk even had a good reason to hate him so much in the first place. But, as long as this guy kept insulting him, the feeling was mutual. Might as well snark back at him.
“I wouldn't say I'm annoying you; yo just getting annoyed on yo own. Don't blame me fo standing up to the bully,” replied the age shifter with a smirk.

"I'll keep that in mind, if you ever stand up to one." Personally, Persi doubted that would happen; seven year olds didn't tend to fare well against bullies, even if they were apparently capable of pretending not to be seven year olds. Clearly he couldn't pretend that well, if falling over once managed to knock him back. Granted, he then turned back into the older version pretty quickly... but still, it wasn't very impressive.
And the kid was smirking. Really. Or trying to; it wasn't a very easy thing for little kids to do, overall. Persi smirked back without trying to. "Now, what part of go away aren't you understanding? I can always try explaining it for you."

If he ever stood up to one? The nerve of him! True, Clyde knew he was pushed around a lot, but it wasn't as if he didn't do anything to stop it. “Believe me, I'm not afraid of you,” Clyde replied.
He heaved a sigh. Did people always have to speak to him as if he was stupid? “This is a common area. I have as much of a right to be heah as you do. You can't make me leave,” stated Clyde, adamantly. “In fact...” He snatched up a remote from a table, powered on the TV, and changed the channel to the news. “...I think I'll stay. Think you can handle it?” He looked back down at the artist jerk, again returning the smirk.

Not afraid of him? Persi rolled his eyes. "Oh, congratulations. And since you're so brave, I suppose you're not scared of the dreaded bunny rabbit either, huh? Or the most terrifying of all, the caterpillar?" Scared of Persi? Well of course not, you idiot. What was there about Persi to be afraid of? Certainly nothing Persi was aware of. The worst Persi could do was draw an unflattering caricature.
Persi rolled his eyes again, though more deliberately. That would be annoying, but he was hardly going to tell the brat that. Besides, he was used to tuning out TVs. He waved the hand with a pencil in the TV's direction. "Feel free, so long as you shut up."
The sarcasm was duly noted, but it was not appreciated. Heck, Clyde wasn't a coward! “You've got some serious issues if you find bunnies and caterpillars scary,” Clyde remarked back at the weird-haired artist jerk, rolling his eyes as well in response.
Clyde knew that sometimes, in those situations, he needed to try to be the better person. But, this guy was getting on his nerves, so Clyde didn't feel like being nice. Hmm...
“You want me to shut up, huh? I'll simplify this. If you don't bothah me, I won't bothah you. Deal?” he countered, offering his hand to shake in mock agreement.

"And you have equally serious issues if you think I'm scary." Possibly worse issues, in fact; Ace had seen some movie years ago that gave him a temporary phobia of bunnies with sharp teeth, and Persi had heard of caterpillars with poisonous spines. Not lethal poison, that he knew of, but then neither were mosquito bites or poison ivy, and people reserved plenty of fear and hatred for them.
Persi raised his eyes to give the kid a flat look before idly reaching out and tapping the offered hand with a pencil. "That has been the deal, and will continue to be the deal, even if you get around to actually not bothering me."
