The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daniel raised his arms to defend against the objects sailing across the air at him. Just as his eyes were about to fix on her's once moreNO! Don't look at her! Daniel's eyes immediately fixed on the ground. He wasn't sure if that voice was real but it warned him, perhaps it was his conscience or something warning him? He listened to her and none of his questions were answered only more were created. Why would he attack her? He doesn't attack people. He helps people everyday, why would he attack anyone? Not again. Not again. Not again. His thoughts became words as he thought through what he remembered. "Not again. Not again." He'd blacked out before but he'd never hurt anyone during his episodes and they never happened at work. They mostly happened when he was all alone at home. "I don't remember a thing. Last thing I remember I was home and in bed...I don't attack people..I'm a Doctor.."
Daniel watched the mutant woman sob and he stood up slowly and approached her. He then sat down in front of her closer than he was before. "It's okay..I'm not going to hurt you." The Doctor put out his hand for her and smiled to the sobbing woman before him. He didn't understand the situation at all but surely he could do his best to comfort her.
She didn't hear him chanting to himself, as she was busy wiping tears from her face and eyes. She did however hear him explain that he didn't remember anything, which only served to make her grow ever more frustrated. "That may very well be so, but I remember very well that someone just attacked me! And since you are standing where he just was, and he--" She hiccuped, dragging her purse into her lap to fish out her handkerchief. She had seen him change, hadn't she?... It hadn't been a trick of the eye or anything... had it?
"- He... I know... I know what I saw." She flinched despite herself when he neared, and though she kept her eyes lowered, she refused to put her glasses back on. She was confused- the whole situation didn't make any sense to her- but she wasn't stupid. She would remain glasses-less until she knew she was absolutely safe. Probably until Saph was around to protect her from... from... whatever has just happened.
Sloth hissed in warning as the doctor approached, and the Greek slapped his large white head out of the way. She didn't need him getting all riled up again and only making things worse. "I... I am very confused..." She admitted, her tone tired and defeated. Ira was the next to hiss; She snapped at him sharply in Greek. The snakes backed down, after that.
Daniel flinched as he heard the hissing come from her hair and snakes appear from her hair to defend their host. He could only imagine they would be linked to the green woman who he didn't know her name. "Ma'am..My name's Doctor Daniel Booker." To be honest he was confused too but although he was confused he was getting less and less distressed by the minute as she didn't seem dangerous. "It's okay, we can work this out together. I'm just as confused if not more confused than you and I don't doubt what you saw." The Mutant Doctor put his hand in hers and squeezed lightly. She seemed to be in distress and this was the best he could do. What if the one who attacked her came back? He couldn't defend himself very well. He was a Doctor not a fighter but he had to keep face for this woman.
He couldn't of attacked her could he? Ofcourse he couldn't this was all some big misunderstanding. Maybe he was sleep-walking and she thought he attacked her? That was possible right? Maybe he sleep walks but hasn't noticed it that would make sense right?
She muttered at her serpents in Greek, attempting to calm them, and herself, down.
"...I.. I apologize-" Him grabbing her hand, however gently, earned a jump from her. Only moments before someone else had been holding the same hand, while attempting to strangle the life out of her. She shuddered, wiping the last of her frustrated tears away.
"- I should not have attacked you like that. I was just so... so frustrated!"[/color] Frustrated, frightened, and maybe a tad bit angry. She had a long running history with the city giving her all sorts of problems, but she tended to pin all the blame upon herself. She'd known that trying to walk after dark was a terrible idea. She'd told herself over and over like a mantra and yet she'd still ended up shuffling down a darkly lit street in the middle of the night.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!
Her gaze danced from her hands, to his hand, to his shoulder. Which was bleeding. The sight of red brought terrible memories back to the surface, and she averted her gaze immediately. "You... you are bleeding." He had he same wounds as that larger, more frightening man had. Were they one in the same? Were they connected or related?... She honestly didn't know the answer. It was something she would have to ponder on once she was home, and safe, rather than out on a street with a strange doctor. "...Are you alright?"
Daniel stared at his shoulders. The marks etched into his skin by some sort of sharp implement, the blood hadn't completely dried yet but it was clotting slowly. Who did this? It wasn't her, she was the one who reminded him of it. The Doctor shook it off and lifted himself off the ground.
He didn't know what had happened and he didn't know why but he knew that there was a woman on the ground on the street in the middle of the night and he knew she'd want to get somewhere safely and he wanted to help her. He wanted to make up for..whatever it is that happened before. "Yes I'm fine but are you?" Daniel offered out his hand to help her up.
She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down a little more, and fingered her glasses. "... I am fine. I have been through worse."
Nothing had yet to compare to what she had been through in the church, and she doubted very much, and prayed, that nothing ever would. Another deep breath set her heart back to beating at a normal rate, and her serpents calmed. "I must get home." She breathed, more to remind herself of what she needed to do than anything else.
It took every ounce of faith in her to slip her glasses back into her face, but once she had Andrea found that it made everything feel a lot more.... normal. Aside from the pain still lingering around her neck, and the bruises she was sure to have from hitting the sidewalk with her backside, she felt like herself again.
"I know--" Deep breaths, Andrea, deep breaths. "-- I know this is a lot to ask after acting the way I did, but I must admit that I am quite frightened of he dark. Would... would you walk with me to the grocery store a few blocks from here? I must call someone to come get me... I do not think attempting to ride a bus in this state would be good for me, or anyone else."
She ran her hand over her forehead, brushing her bangs from her vision, and eyed his wounds. "Also, if you do not mind, I could help with your wounds."
Daniel rubbed his eyes. He didn't really know what to do. He wanted to go home. He wanted to get into bed and sleep all this away. This wasn't a normal night. He could almost be convinced that this was a dream if he didn't feel the cool breeze on his skin. "Sure. I'll walk with you." What else could he say? He couldn't turn her down, he'd just seen her effectively break down. She might of been a lovely girl but he needed to help her whether she was or not. "As long as I get the chance to wash it and cover it, it'll be fine but if you can help I wont turn you down."
He helped her up as much as he could and collected the items she'd thrown at him. "I believe these are yours." He handed her the objects and smiled, trying to calm his image of himself. Daniel walked along with her, deciding he'd better keep the conversation going her asked. "So who's picking you up?" Why couldn't you end her? You stopped me! Why!? Daniel closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he opened them again and he looked to the green woman.
Fishing a handkerchief out of her purse, she carefully applied it to his wounds. It would soak up the blood and help the cuts clot, as well as act as a buffer between him and what she was about to do. Peeling off one of her gloves, she covered the handkerchief with the parts of his clothing that had been torn through, and pressed her bare hand against it. They froze in place, becoming a stone cast of sorts, but managed to keep the makeshift bandage in place. For now, at least.
"Mmm.. sorry about your shirt. However, this should keep your wounds properly covered until you get proper medical supplies."
Slipping the latex glove back on, she tucked away the things he handed her back into her purse, and took another look around the area before moving off. As frightening and rude as her encounter with the other person had been, she still couldn't help but pity him. The Greek's shaded gaze traveled back to Daniel, and she followed him along. Whether it was him or not, she was absolutely sure that getting home as fast as possible was most important at the moment. She could argue with herself later about what had really happened.
"M-My Fiance." She answered back, rubbing at her throat gently while she watched where she walked. "I would have called him before leaving work, but my phone has died. He does not like me walking around by myself at night." Managing a small smile, she glanced at him.
"I am sure he will be most appreciative that you have helped me." Well, he would until they were home and she explained what had happened. If she explained anything.
