The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kyle couldn't help but let a small frown appear on his face as he listened to Evelyn. Even a small blow to the head could have caused a concussion and those were best dealt with as soon as possible. He would know; he'd gotten his fair share of wallops to the head in his years of combat. Still...from what Kyle gathered, Evelyn would do what Evelyn wanted to do and it would take a serious reason to deter her from it. Heck, she'd almost gotten herself killed several times tonight despite Kyle telling her to stay out of the way.
That brought a small smile to Kyle's face instead of the frown and with a shrug, put his helmet under his one arm and offered the other to her. "Well then, allow me to escort you back. Just give me a moment to hide my bike from prying eyes and throw something on over my...attire. I'd rather avoid certain questions, if you catch my meaning."
Smiling, he'd lead her to where his bike rested. Briefly, he started it up and pulled it around into a nearby parking lot before throwing on a jacket and a pair of pants to hide his unique under armor. His gauntlets and shin guards were removed as well and when he returned to Evelyn, he looked as he did earlier. Once again, he offered her an arm and smiled. "Shall we end this interesting night on a more level note?"

Evelyn waited for Kyle to consider her argument, well, what there was of the argument really. 'I don't want to' didn't have much defense to it other than stubbornness, but that seemed to be enough as her companion finally surrendered. Grateful to avoid medical attention for the time being, she took his arm and made the walk to the bike. The last thing she needed was someone scanning her head for injuries; she didn't want to know what they would find with the chaos her powers created in her brain.
"Sorry for making so much trouble, but doctors in general make me cautious. I saw enough of them as a kid when my parents were trying to figure out a 'cure' for what I was. The less time I spend around them now, the better I'll feel." She admitted quietly. Once they were moving away from the smell of burnt rubber and the car crash though, the air felt colder and the trees mingled a more pleasant smell into the air.
"All things considered, it's a nice night out though. I don't walk much because Jensen thinks I'll get mugged or something." She lamented, and felt the cold air against her face. It stung a little where the back of her hair was injured though.
"Hah, a cure. Its amazing what people will think is possible when faced with something they don't want to acknowledge is happening. But if that's what you want; you should get checked out somehow though. A head injury is nothing to scoff at."
They walked for a while in the crisp chill of the night. It had to be late by now; what with all the excitement that they had been through, remembering the time hadn't been a concern. With any luck, by now the police had arrived on scene and would be taking care of the criminals that Kyle had left behind. So long as none of them had gotten up and run(which would have been hard because Kyle made sure to break a bone somewhere on each of them), then that part of the night ended on good note. Bad guys dealt with, girl in peril both saved and met, priceless items protected. Not bad at all.
It wasn't long before the museum was coming into sight, which was about the time that Evelyn mentioned a Jensen worrying about her safety. Briefly but throughly, Kyle considered who this Jensen could be. A brother, perhaps, or a stepfather? They usually called those people by their names, not by father or dad. A friend perhaps? Take that a step further, perhaps someone that was more than a friend? That lost thought troubled him a little, in a way words often cannot explain, for the speaker does not know himself. Something to ask into, perhaps?
"Well, based off tonight's events, I could say you are perfectly safe from mugging walking. But perhaps you shouldn't stay so late at work. He gave her a little smirk at that before motioning to the museum with his head. "The museum is within sight and I can see enough lights from here to know the police are still around. I think this is the time we part ways; you at least work for the museum and I well...have a knife wound that would take some explaining. Return your art pieces. Then get yourself checked out, if not now, then tomorrow, right away."
A thought occured to him then and that little grin returned, a flash of insight glowing in his eyes. "Tell me Evelyn...have you ever been to the Sanctuary?"

Evelyn didn't argue any further, and knew while she disliked the idea, he was probably right. And honestly, Jensen would likely agree with her new acquaintance.
Speaking of Jensen... at his mention, a look of consideration passed her companions face. She chuckled lightly, and faced the museum with a slight smile. "Jensen is my handler, since you're wondering. Bodyguard, driver, occasional word of advice I ignore. My family felt I needed someone to keep me out of trouble so I didn't taint their lovely reputation." She would have been a bit more critical of the idea if she hadn't just gotten in the middle of a robbery. It was kind of a mark against her argument for independence.
"I usually don't work late, but we were low on staff and I stayed behind the help. I appreciate the help though. It could have been worse without your assistance." She gave a small smile and took her hand back, beginning to turn towards the museum.
Then his question wiped the smile from her face. A rather dark flickered crossed her blue eyes making them seem even icier than before. "Not willingly, and if first impressions have anything to say about the matter, I'd avoid the place." Memories of the experience started to flicker to the surface, and she turned back towards her beloved museum, pushing the thoughts aside.
"Hmm, now you're just making me curious. How important must you be, for you to have a man on hand that is both bodyguard and driver? I think the robbers almost stole the most valuable thing in the museum and weren't even aware of it."
Kyle didn't comment on the fact that her family was likely in the right to give her a protector, considering what he just had to save her from. Evelyn's heart was in the right place back at the museum, but it had been a foolish thing to do. Him taking on armed men was one thing; his power was bred for it and Kyle did daily training to ensure he was physically capable of such things. Experience came to mind as well; Kyle had done this many a time before. But Evelyn was not a fighter, at least in the physical sense of the term. Her power was gifted, truly, but she herself was not made for that kind of fight. Not yet, anyway.
Kyle noticed the change in her demeanor almost as soon as the words left his mouth. Her smile was gone and the look in her eyes would have frozen the lava in a volcano with how could they became. "Apologies if I brought up something unwanted; I was merely curious. Sanctuary would have mutant healers on hand that could take a look at you and remove any possible damage without having you be exposed to them for too long.
That is all I wished to express. In any case, I've kept you long enough." Smiling, he tipped his head towards her before turning to leave. He hadn't gone more than a few steps before a message would appear on Evelyn's phone. -I'll be in touch. Call if you ever need a hand.-
