The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

((OOC: Ok guys. let's just keep going with the flow shall we? Fade, Raphael has called you out of hiding so Kaz don't sweat the whole following bit. It could've happened. Let's just continue on.))
One of the guests spoke up and inquired about several things. All of which Syn was more than happy to answer. “Well, yes that’s correct. There is no rent to pay here. All you have to do is fill out a packet which Lisa has plenty of copies of.” Syn gestured to the receptionist’s desk. “It’s just general information about you and asking what your mutation is. After all, we would like to make sure that no one’s ability is harmful to those around. Should such a mutant apply to stay here then they are placed in a more specialized area of Sanctuary where they are still afforded the same luxuries as everyone else but without worry of harming anyone.” The girl paused as Raphael and the disguised Kaz spoke of Fade.
Then she heard Raphael speak of Xavier’s Mansion. He told of how many times it had been attacked as well as several people who weren’t protected. He even mentioned the fact that the X-Men lived at the mansion. Syn began to wonder if she had met one of the X-Men when she ran into her sister. Tricity I believe someone called her. “I’m sorry to hear of all those bad things happening….umm…what are your names? You may call me Syn.” Syn smiled in a genuine fashion with her greeting. “I can assure you that Sanctuary is much safer than Xavier’s mansion. Aside from the cameras there are also numerous counter measures in place to thwart any attack on those housed within this place. However we also do our best to welcome all with open arms.” Her speech had feeling threaded into her words and did not sound rehearsed in any way.

Nicki listened, keeping the fact that she lived at the Mansion a secret. Her fingers went up to her earlobe again, tugging nervously on it as she often did. She chewed on her lower lip a little as she listened to Syn. Nicki nervously cleard her throat.
"Um, Syn, I'm sorry if this sounds a little...judgmental...but I can't help but notice that there are a *lot* of security measures, as you said. Is...is that all for our own protection? I mean...it just kinda seems like...a lot, you know? Maybe a little...excessive?" Nicki asked, looking down a little.

(OOC: Alriiiighty. I noticed that there was a lot of posting after the 'problem' but we'll just continue on like it didn't happen. First, Fade is still in hiding. End of story... She's going to find the holding cells and other naughty things The Sanctuary has. Secondly, Wire and Raph are not known to anyone in The Sanc. They should be seen as people interested in living here. Kaz, it's cool that you recognized the car from the mansion, but you shouldn't be suspiscious beyond that because you wouldn't necessarily think everyone living at the mansion is a 'good guy'. Just like people living in The Sanc aren't necessarily all bad. It's just members of The Order. Wire and Raph are just people 'shopping' for a place to live. You can be suspiscious, that's fine. I would expect members of The Order TO be. Nicki, it's fine that you recognized Wire and Raph, but you wouldn't know much about them since you are new at the mansion, especially them being X-Men. Got it everyone?! GOOD! *hugs*)
'This could be problematic,' Dominic thought, seeing all the new arrivals. 'This guy could really screw up everything.' He looked Kaz up and down a few times and then over to Raphael, who was keeping perfectly calm. Dominic continued walking forward to keep the group going in more attempts to see the whole of the building. Perhaps this Nicki would be their ticket of distraction while they went on with the tour.
His eye never went far from Kaz's position though. 'Hope Fade finds something soon before this turns ugly...'
Syn turned to Nicki as she posed her question. "It's not meant to be overhwelming. We don't want to scare away anyone who may want to stay here. However you are correct. The camera's are in place for our own protection. We keep an eye on things both outside Santuary as well as inside should someone be able to sneek inside." Her voice remained calm and confident. "Do any of you have any other concerns or questions?"
”Would you object to explaining the security measures in place on our walk to the medical wing?” Raphael glanced among the small group they were gathering in the hallway, making sure his gaze did not linger on anyone besides the tour-guide Lisa. “I do believe that was the next stop on the tour, unless, of course, the rotation of sites has changed.”
He smiled a little bit, ready to answer any questions that should arise. Though right now he wanted to know about how this place as protected, more out of curiosity than seeing it as information he could relay onto another X-Man. He fell in line as Lisa led the way down the hall to continue the tour, constantly swinging his head around to look in an awestruck way at the architecture, yet also being able to keep an eye on the other arrivals at the same time.
“Oh, food, is there a cafeteria?” Raphael asked, then quickly tacked on a secondary question when Lisa shot him a glance that clearly wanted to know if he was hungry. “Just curious… I mean, if we choose to stay here, and are accepted here, I am assuming there is an application process, it’d be nice to know where to go to eat.”
Lisa listened to the questions from Raphael as did Syn, but she let Lisa do her job. "Yes of course I can tell you some of the security features however I'm not at liberty to disclose all of our security information. I'm sure you can understand. We don't want all our information to be just floating about." The woman smiled as they started walking. "Other than the cameras we also have the means of locking down the entire building in a matter of seconds. We also have our own special security force. Other than that I'm not in a position to say. I hope you can understand."
Lisa continued walking in the direction of the medical facilities within Sanctuary when Raphael's next questions got her attention causing her to look back at him for a moment. "Yes of course we have a cafeteria that is in operation 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I know some people get those midnight cravings so that's why we keep it open at all times."
After a short time they arrived at the medical wing of Sanctuary. "Here are the medical facilities. We have all the supplies and equipment we would need for a major trauma should one ever occur." Lisa opened the door and gestured for the guests to look inside should they choose to. "We have and excellent medical staff as well. Able to treat just about anything from colds and scrapes to broken bones and even major surgeries."
Syn just followed along keeping quiet and listening to the questions and answers. At the same time she would check out Raphael and Wire when they weren't paying attention to her. They just seemed like guys who were really wanting someplace to stay.

As the group began to move, Kaz fell to the back. He was fine letting Lisa be the tour guide. Besides, he wanted to keep an eye on the two guys. As they walked, he kept Syn between himself and Nicki. He didn't want her to pick up anything from him, so he kept his distance and tried to keep his mind blank. When they reached the medical room he gave the attendant a quick glance then turned away. She got the point as she stayed in here chair and didn't look up until Lisa spoke about the medical staff.
The attendant looked up from her computer and the papers on the desk to smile and say a quick hello before getting back to work. She had put Kaz's clothes into the waste basket with the used syringes and needles, well, under the container to be exact. Kaz let one thing slip in his mind, and slip loudly, an image of a quarter split in two, showing the back and front seperately, then coming together and fusing before spinning: Two sides, One coin.*
As the group continued walking, Kaz remembered to keep his disguise up, the limping, the coughing, and the occasional blood bit. The group headed town a corridor towards the recreational area, pool, and weight room. At the end of the cooridor Abyss was sitting on a bench. He looked as if he was waiting there just for them. As they closed in on Abyss, Kaz had a thought. He didn't know how anyone would react to it, but remembering something Syn had said to him before this day, he suddenly couldn't help himself. Directing his question towards Wire and Raph, though making sure his voice was loud enough to be heard by Abyss up ahead, "By any chance would either of you know anyone that goes by DeathStar? If you do, how's she doing?" Behind his mask he had a stupid mischevious grin on his face. This was one of those things he just couldn't help himself but do, he had to give in once in a while. Besides this could be funny.
Raphael nodded along with Lisa’s statement, and took note that she immediately moved on to discuss another of his questions without really addressing the security of the Sanctuary, though he did not mind the extra information about the cafeteria. Knowing just where to grab a bite to eat was quite the important piece of information. “I take it that beyond the security cameras, that are mighty obvious, your other security measures are off limits for discussion? My primary concern is for safety.”
He kept his eyes open for anything that might be amiss as they entered the medical wing. Larger than Xavier’s, and just as well equipped. He took a moment looking around, the passing thought of whether or not Victoria would have woken up here made him wonder. She still laid in a coma under Doc Prof’s care. “For surgeries, is the medical staff that is kept on hand sufficient for serious surgeries past simple stitches? Or is a secondary staff kept on call for the more drastic emergencies?”
He did a brief once-around, and approached the door with another question. “Are injuries frequent enough around here to warrant such extensive facilities capable of housing well more than the average number of patients?”
He followed after Lisa as she led the way away from medical wing. He eyed Abyss for a moment as they approached the recreational room. He guessed, of the four here, that he would likely cause the most trouble should a fight break out between them and the members of the Sanctuary, though he was increasingly wanting that not to happen. He cast a glance towards Kaz as he tossed a question out of left field, and subsequently sent Raphael’s mind into overdrive. Kaz, unless he was a trouble maker, knew more than he was letting onto. Of course, he could simply be over-compensating for his crippled nature by trying to irk someone else nearby… possibly the young woman walking behind them, or the red man ahead. “Yeah, I know her. She’s doing fine last I saw her.”
Wire wanted to give Raphael an emmy after this performance. He was doing amazingly with this. The group had seen many different places, but of course only the surface. Dominic was sure this place was hiding more just as Xavier's did. A sudden question flew from Kaz's mouth about Deathstar. Personally, he hadn't seen the young woman in a while, but added to Raphael's answer. "I haven't seen her in a few days myself. But I'm sure she's fine." Dominic immediately began wondering how he knew Deathstar... He would have to have a long talk with the girl once they returned from here. 'He knows something...'
Suddenly, his eyes fell on a man who was red from head to toe, sitting on a bench down the hallway. Dominic had seen many mutations before, but no one ever looked like this guy. 'Wow.'
Continuing the tour after letting Raphael look around the medical wing Lisa answered his questions. “I did also say that besides the cameras we also have a special security force, but I am not allowed to say more than that. However, I will say that all these measures are in place to help protect those who reside here. Everyone is free to come or go as they wish. If a mutant decides he or she wants to live here and does so for a month but then decides to leave then that person is free to do so.” She finished her statement with a smile before going on to the next question.
“For the most part the staff that we have can handle more than just doing stitches. I’m referring to surgeries like repairing muscle tissue and most other non advanced operations. However, should there be such an occasion where heart or brain surgery is required then yes we do have a specialist team that is on call. As for the size of our facilities; we want to be sure that everyone who requires medical treatment is able to receive such treatment without waiting in line down the hall.”
The group continued to the recreational area. The most immediate thing that grabbed everyone’s attention was a large red man. Syn kept quiet for the most part of the tour as she was letting Lisa do her job, but when she saw her brother she was afraid he would immediately acknowledge her. To her surprise he didn’t say a word to her and inside Syn took a breath of relief.
That is until both of the new guys confirmed knowing and or seeing Deathstar. She played dumb to the topic but deep down she wanted to say something. Instead she continued to remain quiet and let them do the talking. Were they really from Xavier’s Mansion and if so were they really looking for someplace different to stay or where they trying to find out something here?

Nicki stayed in the back of the pack for the most part, looking around, trying to take everything in. Just when she thought she had gotten used to the size of the mansion she found herself in an even larger place. It was very overwhelming.
And yet, the size wasn't on her mind as much as the people. She kept looking around at those with her, particularly the crippled man coughing up blood. Something wasn't right with him...and not in the obvious way. She felt like she had seen him before...but she was unaware of how.
The most unfortunate of everything going on was that Nicki's ability to pick up people's thoughts was acting up. It was most likely do to the fact that Kaz had only recently opened his mind to her and since she had been using the power it was over-active. She was having a hard time controlling it and could feel herself starting to get dizzy and the blood drain from her face.

Kaz walked up to Abyss, and held out his left hand, since he couldn't use the hand the was 'holding' him up. As he shook Abyss' hand, he used a grip that only he and Abyss were able to do. "You're like a red version of the Hulk..." Pausing, as if he was in thought for a moment, "Well, not as dumb looking, and Hulk was never as stylish." Kaz shook slightly while making a half choking sound, obvious he was surpressing a cough.
Hearing clothes shift in a way not normal, he turned his head to see Nicki swaying, pale in the face. His heart rate jumped for a moment, as he nearly dashed over to her. Checking himself, he excused himself from Abyss, and moved as quickly as he could to the girl, while still keeping the appearance of a cripple, though a cripple who was use to his condition. He could tell she wasn't doing very well. "You alright?" The words came out as he neared her, up close he could tell she wasn't. "No, you're not..." Worry did come through his voice as he looked from her to the rest of the group. "You guys keep going, I'll bring this girl to the medical center." With that, he hooked her arm around his shoulder so she was on his left side. As he began to walk away with Nicki, he looked back to the group, choosing his words he spoke mostly to Abyss. "I'm sure you'll get to the kitchen soon enough. When you do, could you have someone bring some Slamiches to the medical center. I got a feeling this girl will pass out soon." Turning back around, he hoped Abyss would catch his clues.
Moving quickly through the halls, still keeping up the act in case someone was watching, he brought Nicki to the medical center. The attendant had a worried look on her face when he came in, Kaz waved her to the private secure rooms. The woman got it ready and helped Kaz lay Nicki on the bed. "I'll be right back." He told Nicki as he pulled the attendant out of the room and closed the door. There was a touch-screen on the wall next to the door, pressing a few spacific buttons, the medical center went through a quick thermal scan, which showed only himself, the attendant and Nicki in the area. <Good.> Speaking to the attendant, "No one comes in without my say so, Got it?" She nodded before heading back to her desk.
Walking back into and shutting the door to the room, Kaz dropped his hood and the mask onto a table. "Nicki, what's wrong?" He spoke as he began to hook her up to the monitoring machines.
((OOC: Made a different thread to continue this part between Nicki and Kaz. Overload
Raphael nodded as the big red man approached, addressed them with a question and then introduced himself. “I’m Raphael,” was all he got out before Nicki had her episode, he watched the cripple ‘stagger’ over to help her. His feeling of wrong that he got from the man just rose exponentially, and he could not place why. He suspected it was because the cripple was not who he really said he was, though the whole incident did allow him to avoid answering where he knew Deathstar from.
He was not entirely sure he wanted to display his full hand. As Kaz and Nicki left, he turned back to the remaining members of the tour group. “The excitement never ends, eh?”
He was not entirely sure what he meant by the statement, though knew he did not mean it sarcastically, and so, it did not come out sarcastically. He looked from Lisa to Abyss to the recreational facilities just down the hall. “Shall we follow them to the medical wing to ensure the young woman’s well-being or move on with the tour?”
"I'm sure our staff don't need a bunch of on-lookers. They can take care of her so let us continue shall we?" Lisa ddin't slack off for even a second on keeping the tour going. Maybe she had been doing this for too long Syn wondered.
Next they came to the dining facility. The aroma of spices and cooking filled the air and made a pleasant greeting to everyone's noses. "Here we have our dining facility, and as you can see and smell they know what they're doing." Lisa turned and smiled at Raphael and Wire and awaited any possible questions about this portion of the tour.
