The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

.... been keeping tabs on her? Spying on her, more likely. The anger that would have normally come with such an admission was temporarily ignored due to Allison's silence. Why was she being so quiet?
Roach suddenly deciding to leave and taking all of the other people with him made the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. What had happened?
She was alone with Allison in the room, hurting in an assortment of different places, and her left ear had just started to ring. It was then that she saw it... the way Allison was clinging to herself. The way she was hiding her face. The silence. This was not the Allison she knew. Is was not the girl so full of piss and vinegar that she made Megan a little jealous sometimes.
... this was someone entirely different.
Megan thought back; she thought hard. She scrubbed and scoured her memory, cursing under her breath as she stood and paced around in small circles-- ignoring the protests of her body this caused. Then, all of the sudden, she had it. She recalled more words, though faint and haze. She saw glimpses of what had happened, and could feel phantom pains from the beating she had taken.
Her back was turned to Allison at that point, but from the look of her it would be easy to tell what she'd just remembered. Her spine straightened uncomfortably. Her shoulders squared and tensed, and she clenched her fists at her side. Her brow was wrinkled, eyebrows drawn tightly together, and her jaw was clenched so hard it popped in annoyance.
She knew words were useless if she were right about this... about what had happened. She knew that there was nothing she could say to make it better, and nothing she could do to make the pain go away.
Without a word, she turned to Allison and crossed the distance between them, wrapping her arms around the girl gently and hugged her. "Aura... do you want me to go get her?"
Allison let the silence lengthen while Megan paced. It wasn't a comfortable silence at all, it left her entirely too much time to think, and to worry about Megan and what had happened to her and if she'd recover or was doing more damage to herself and if she blamed Allison and if Allison ought to explain to her that it was Allison's fault even if she didn't.
Being hugged was... not what Allison had expected. She hadn't been sure what Megan would do, really, but hugging was not generally what she expected from someone who'd just become visibly furious. It was... sort of a good sign, despite being unexpected, except that now Allison wasn't sure if Megan had remembered anything. She didn't fight the hug, anyway, but she couldn't make herself relax in it. That might not be due to the hug though; she didn't feel like she'd relax for a while. Well, she didn't feel like she'd ever relax, actually, but that was probably her emotions exaggerating.
"She's not here." Allison hadn't seen Aura in too long a time to not make her wonder, but the bug had confirmed it. And confirmed who to blame for it.... She didn't think she could do anything about it, though; certainly not right now. Not while Megan was here, and apparently friends with the bug... that thought made her shiver. "How... what... do you remember?"
"...." How was she supposed to explain it? ""Enough." She muttered. Everything was still fuzzy. Too diluted to piece together into a big picture. Too many puzzle pieces were still missing. The words she would remember though, even while fractured, were enough on their own.
At some point something had done wrong. Megan couldn't pin down an exact point however; there were too many. She knew that she'd been taken down- outnumbered and over powered- and that in doing so she'd left Allison on her own. She could also vaguely recall a nagging sense that something wasn't right inside. Like... like she was disconnected from herself somehow. It was an infuriatingly familiar feeling that she couldn't put a finger on.
"...What... what happened after I..." Her voice, heavy with foreign guilt, cracked and she pulled away, turning her back on Allison again. "Greg said someone else was there. Someone got us out or something... Who, who was it?"
She couldn't remember anything about that. Hadn't seen anyone or heard anything. Everything past a fleeting glimpse of red on the floor, until she'd woken up a few minutes ago was missing. Just a black, gaping hole in her memory.
Her head was starting to hurt again from poking and prodding at her fractured timeline of the last night... or had it been more than one night? How long had she even been out for that matter? With a groan, she shuffled back towards the exam bed and plopped onto it.
