The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Every two days,” Kaitlyn repeated, laughing nervously.
Well, duh. It was two days since the last time Victoria went out and killed someone, and she almost seemed like she was about to die before Kaitlyn helped her out.
“The friend of mine who can get the blood said it’d take about a week.” More nervous laughter. “So, ah… same time a couple days from now?”
This was probably going to suck. But it wasn’t all bad. All the parts of this that didn’t involve nearly dying from blood loss were pretty okay. That look Victoria was giving her, for example.
“Victoria, has anyone ever told you that you’re really, really cute?”

Hearing Kait state that it would be a week before the blood packs could be obtained made the little blonde nervous. Hearing the nervous laughter coming from Kait made the girl more nervous. Victoria managed to acknowledge the suggested meeting in another two days with a nod.
She felt bad for having to put Kait through all this trouble and pain. Her red haired friend was proving to be very caring and understanding with all of this. It meant a great deal to Victoria.
What happened next caught the little vampire completely off guard. So much so that she missed placing her foot on the bench to put her shoe on and instead stumbled forward tripping over the bench and smacking her face right into a closed locker. Rolling to her side she stopped in a sitting position on the floor. Cheeks were rosy red and looking up at Kait in almost an innocently helpless expression. “Ummm….no.”

Kaitlyn couldn’t stop herself from giggling.
“You totally are, though. So somebody shoulda told you.” The giggling died down a bit, but she was still smiling at Victoria. “I’m sorry, that wasn’t funny. You okay?” Kaitlyn would have helped Victoria up if she wasn’t having so much trouble standing herself.
Realizing that Victoria was mostly dressed already, Kaitlyn grabbed her shirt and, after sluggishly fumbling with it for a bit, put it back on. At least she wasn’t naked anymore. Leaning back against the wall, she sighed, as though even putting her shirt back on had been a great effort. “I’ll prolly need help getting back.”

If Victoria’s cheeks could turn any more red she was sure they already had. Now not only had she felt embarrassed about someone thinking she might be cute, but also for making a complete fool of herself with her little incident. Her face felt like it was on fire and no amount of cold water was going to cool her off.
Smiling up at Kait still she nodded. “I’m fine but I think I hurt the locker.” She ran her fingers over the newly formed dent in the locker she had smacked with her face. “I hope I don’t get in trouble for that.”
Victoria paused for a few moments and watched Kait struggle just to get her shirt back on and mention needing help to get back to her room. “I’ll help you Kait.” Finishing that sentence the little blonde girl began helping to get her friend dressed again and then helped her back towards her room.
Walking down the hallway with Kait’s arm over her shoulders and her own arm wrapped around her friend to hold her up; Victoria continued the topic Kait had started in the locker room. “You think I’m cute?”

For a split second, Kaitlyn was terrified. What did that tone of voice mean? What if she’d just been making Victoria uncomfortable this whole time? But she quickly decided that didn’t need to worry. Victoria was okay with Kaitlyn kissing her, so she was probably cool with Kaitlyn calling her cute. And maybe she was having trouble thinking about these things properly, what with the blood loss.
The girl needed to shift a lot more of her weight onto Victoria’s shoulders than she normally would have liked. And even with all of Victoria’s help, getting back to her room was leaving her out of breath. If it was anyone but Victoria helping her, she’d hate to feel this weak. As it was, she was surprisingly okay with it.
“No.”
Catching her breath, Kaitlyn used her free hand to move some damp, red hair off her face. “I don’t just think you’re cute. I know it. It’s a fact, like your eyes being red.”
Though Kaitlyn felt like she'd just run a mile, she managed a smirk. “Red’s my favorite color."
Walking Kait back to her room wasn’t a big deal. Victoria felt her friend put more of her weight on her. It didn’t bother the blonde girl at all as she easily supported the shift in balance. If anything she felt happy that she could help Kait after what was done for herself. It was like being able to repay the generosity.
Stopping near Kait’s door the red haired girl answered Victoria’s question. The response made her both smile and blush…again. She blinked happily at Kait. “Aitah Kait! I think you’re cute too and you’re very understanding! I’m really happy to know you.”

She thinks I’m cute!
“I’m… I’m happy you feel that way,” Kaitlyn stuttered, cheeks glowing. She wished the moment could have lasted longer, staring into Victoria’s eyes, locked in that half-embrace. Only with great reluctance did she acknowledge that they were right in front of her room. She needed to get in and sleep.
But before she did that… would it be okay if she…?
Kaitlyn leaned in and kissed Victoria on the mouth again. This time, it lasted a bit longer. And though they were both fully-clothed this time, it was a bit more… involved.

Again Kait made Victoria smile. She was truly happy to know someone as caring and helpful as Kait had been. A special bond had been forged both mentally and emotionally. Victoria would never forget these events.
Another kiss would ensure the little vampire never forgot. She smiled a bit and kissed back. There wasn’t any hesitation at all in her reaction. Kait would forever be special to the red-eyed girl. “Aitah Kait! Aitah! See you again soon?”

“Yeah. See you.”
Kaitlyn stumbled through her door, still blushing, almost giggling. “Goodnight.” She gave Victoria a little wave before closing the door behind her.
…Then she realized that she still had Algebra homework to do. Eh. There would be time to finish that during lunch. She was way too tired, way too preoccupied with thoughts of Victoria to concentrate on math.
Did this mean they were girlfriends, now? All that kissing had to mean something, she was sure. And what did Victoria mean by ‘Aitah?’ And if Kaitlyn tried taking her to one of those school dances, later, would she…?
