The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

If he were human, Aurion probably would be laying next to Chrys until she, they, were ready and able to move freely and easily again. But he wasn't and laying down wasn't normally comfortable for him for too long. Unless he was curled up of course, something about curling into oneself was peaceful and relaxing. It could stem from the womb where everyone was in the fetal position.
So he sat there, his legs under him slightly and to the side. He watched her chest move rhythmically with each breath taken, disrupted now and then by little shudders and twitches. Aurion could remember everything clearly up to a certain, foggy point. He had become lost in their shared sensations, with only the accidental injuries he gave her cutting through the haze, but only slightly. Which was a good thing, that had probably been the only reason he hadn't torn her in half and killed her.
Aurion wasn't sure what he was feeling when they had finished. He was sore, specifically in many places, like each spot he had scored Chrys' flesh. Though really it was more of an overall feeling of soreness and body exhaustion. Which was a somewhat foreign thing to the scaled man. His phsiology allowed him an endurance that let him exert himself for hours, effortlessly, where humans had to train every day to match his casual pace. If he had to, he could have gotten up and walked, even ran, but only if he had no other choice.
That was the physical side of it. Aurion was trying to sort out, through, the emotions he was feeling. Trying to put a label on what he was feeling. If he could at least do that, he could start to figure all that out. He didn't even know what he was suppose to do. When they were melded together, he had let instincts, desire, and Chrys lead the way. Afterwards...Looking at her, he didn't know if he was suppose to hold her, or at least keep in physical contact some how. Should he run his fingers through her hair or was that 'bad form'?
Did he want to do that, any of that? Did he care to? He knew why he had agreed to the kiss, the chance to feel was too much to pass up. Why had agreed to go further anyway? Granted it was something he was curious about and desired for what felt like years. Aurion knew why Chrys had done all of it, well he knew the surface reasons, not why she found and spent the night with random guys instead of ones she knew or just one. It was a game to her.
When she spoke, his gaze slid to her lips, watched them move as they formed words. His mind was still hazy and slow, so it took him a moment to actually get what she was saying. When it registered he smiled at her, a sly smile that reached his eyes. "Oh, I'm glad I didn't eat you then." Smirking, "I am a little hungry now though...And I've always wondered what it felt like to be eaten." The last sentence in a wistful tone before licking his lips slowly.
Aurion wasn't expecting or ready for her next question. Considering how long he had actively been thinking about such things, and not including the dream future, it had only been a handful of weeks. And since he had never been with a woman or had one show any interest in him, except Chrys, he had no basis for it. So Aurion's mouth opened and shut a couple times before it pulled into a concerned/confused/thoughtful expression. "I don't know." A bit softly spoken, but honest.
Looking directly at her. "Can you remember when you started being interested in men, or," He waved his hand to indicate what they had done, "I can. About nine months in the future and at the same time a month ago." Aurion laughed realized how crazy and stupid that sounded. "I'm not crazy, and that's a long story anyway." Shrugging and tracing a finger along her arm, "If I have a preference, when I find out, I'll let you know. How's that sound?" His hand went from her arm to her abdomen to her hip. "You," He almost asked if she was hurt, but realized how much of a stupid question that would be, "You alright?"
Aurion commented on the possible sensation of being eaten, a curiosity Chrys had spent plenty of hours daydreaming about. "Oh, it would probably feel glorious," she assured him in a dreamer's voice. "Plenty of tearing and breaking and stabbing. It would be euphoric."
Coming back to Earth, she added flatly, "You know, until we both died." Sadly, being consumed would have to live on in her daydreams, and as a top-five candidate on her list of ways to die. (How horrible would it be for her to go peacefully in her sleep?)
Aurion asked when she started becoming interested in men. It was a silly question. She had no interest in men. She just knew that good girls played games with men. Thankfully, the question seemed rhetorical, as an excuse for Aurion to answer his own question, mentioning the future. It was probably a reference to the future dreams people had. Chrys was left out of the supposed distopian wasteland, with her office being in the range of the initial explosion, and she was still a little sore about it.
Regardless, Aurion finally answered her question with the roundabout equivalent of a maybe. Giggling, she replied, "And if I find any scaly girls, you'll be the first to know."
She yawned and pulled her fuzzy blanket closer to her body to get comfy. Would he be offended if she asked him to carry her back home? They were on a roof, so a taxi would be inconvenient.
There was no rush, and she was cozy, so she was content with lying naked in the New York skyline for a while. He asked if she was alright, which earned another chuckle. Her hand poked out from the safety of the blanket to rub against his leg; they were still bonded, so why not let Aurion continue taking advantage of her senses and reminding him of his unique texture? "Oh, I am just dandy. Every man should be required to have claws by law. And you were so... well, strong. It hasn't felt like that since I was much smaller." She had a vague memory of playing and thinking the games hurt, but it was so long ago, the memories were barely there.
Her hand moved to the inside of his knee. He could not feel much besides a light pressure there, (shared with her leg of course,) but it was the thought that counted. "I'm just glad to see you didn't explode with feels or tumble off the roof in ecstacy. Was it as good as advertised?" Advertised not so much by her, but by an incredibly sex-centric culture.
Aurion gave Chrys an incredulous look. "Uhh, sure. Maybe for you." He laughed lightheartedly. "I think for most, it would hurt." He paused when she mentioned them both dying. "There's that too. But you definitely wouldn't die alone, and you could do it in someone's arms. If that was, ya know, your thing." Aurion shrugged. He didn't really think about dying, ever. In some ways he was like a child. He knew about death, but it was almost this magical thing that couldn't touch him, that he was immortal, like someone was watching out for him. That sort of thinking could almost make a person believe in a higher power. 'Yeah right.'
"I'll hold you to that ya know." He gave her his best wink, which probably looked really funny coming from him. "Why'd you ask anyway? Do you have a type you prefer?" After the words came out he wondered if that was something he should have asked. Wondered if he really want to know the answer to that last question? Why, he wondered, was he even wondering if he cared to know? 'That's too circular.' He thought to himself, the idea of going in the circle made his head throb with an imagined headache.
The dual sensation of touch had dulled after a while, his mind having gotten a handle on the rampant, out of control stimulation. That in no way meant that it didn't excite him or was boring. Not at all, he still enjoyed the stimulation and in some ways was able to enjoy it more thoroughly since he wasn't being overwhelmed. Even though he couldn't feel her hand on his leg, he appreciated it. And although he could feel his leg under her hand, he still preferred the feeling of her hand against her own skin. The difference between the two was like night and day. He was hard while she was soft; She was smooth, he was rough; She was delicate, he was coarse; She was basically his opposite in every way.
"Heh." He huffed out sharply, not really believing what she said. Then he looked at his claws before looking back at her. "You mean that, don't you?" It was kind of nice not having to be so careful and gentle around someone. He knew he couldn't actually fully relax around Chrys, but it was still relaxing.
"Well I wouldn't say I didn't explode." Aurion couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Details get a bit fuzzy after a bit, sort of, like a, ah, a white-out I guess. If that makes any sense." He rubbed his neck in a sheepish way. Aurion laid down, his arm was straight up as he rested his head on his upper arm. "No." Was his response to her last question. His free arm reached behind Chrys and pulled her closer to him. "It was better." He wasn't trying to start anything up again, wasn't even sure why he did it, he just did what he felt like doing, no thinking involved.
Aurion's attempt at winking was an awkward one, like a creature attempting the act for the first time trying to mimic an over-the-top television personality. She giggled as he asked about her type. The thought halted her giggling, because she had no clue how to answer that. "My type?"
She was not interested in anyone the way most girls seemed to be, but she supposed there were traits she liked in her victims. "I guess it depends on if someone could be interesting? Recently, I picked up a scrawny Indian guy because he danced like a machine." Those were fun times. "But I guess I usually pick someone who is really big and strong. The linebacker-types become so helpless when they feel one little knife cut on my tiny tummy." She smirked, recalling a mini-montage of her top hits. "It's adorable."
Aurion pulled her closer, complimenting her for showing him a first time that exceeded expectations. Rather pleased with the praise, Sher wrapped herself around his leg with one arm, tracing an infinity symbol on her bare waist with the tip of her finger. "I was always taught to be a good girl," she mused proudly.
"I don't always use the same playthings twice, but that's usually because I break most of them." What was the fun of playing with a broken toy? "I would be more than happy to give you treats if you don't leave scales all over my penthouse." If she was going to have a scaly pet coming and going, he was going to be tidy or she was going to clean him up like a fish.
Aurion had a bit of a mutant superiority complex, and it was fairly evident in everything he did, every way he acted or reacted towards humans. Everything that had anything to do with humans in fact. In all of it, Aurion saw mutants as better, superior. So when she talked about her type of guy, and it was negative, he automatically labeled them as human in his mind. He liked the thought of 'big tough humans' actually being small, weak, pathetic creatures when they were stripped of all their guises.
What Aurion wasn't so thrilled about was not that she had been with others like she had been with him, he wasn't, didn't, have a clear thought or opinion of that just then, but that there was a very strong possibility that they were human. That possibly the majority of them had been human. It did not sit well with him. When his mind thought to the second half of what she said, he wasn't sure how upset he could be about Chrys doing it to humans. If she had a thing for inflicting that sort of pain and playing surgeon, perhaps it was best she went after humans. . . .Yes, he decided, better to happen to humans than other mutants.
Those thoughts came into Aurion's head in the short moments after "adorable" and before he pulled her close to him. Having done that he lightly, their connection allowed him to do that easily, around one breast then down her torso, along the cut he had given her. He could feel the light tingle as he did so, and enjoyed it. The sensation he felt mirrored on his waist felt so much better though.
A very tiger-like 'purr' rumbled through him as he heard and understood what she was saying about her penthouse. He didn't know what a penthouse was, though it was obviously somewhere she lived. If there were more nights like what they had just had waiting at he penthouse, Aurion thought he could be quite receptive to spending time there. Maybe. He was already avoiding some thoughts, and before he dove into anything else he would have to sort through them.
But until then...
Aurion's tail slowly snaked along her leg as his hand moved to cover hers. He was perfectly happy with soaking up as much physical sensation as Chrys was willing to share with him, and he'd share what he could with her. "Sounds like fun." Laughing. "And don't worry. I don't shed."
Aurion was getting nice and cozy with her, letting his hand wander along her breast, waist, and anywhere else her cut marred, which caused a soft tingling she could enjoy. It was no longer the stinging pain, but all good things had to end.
He placed his hand on hers. She was wondering if he did not like the looping circles she was making on herself, but she kept quiet and simply accepted his hand and let hers remain still. It was a unique night for Chrys, who was not used to post-coital cuddling. It would be too weird even for her to cuddle a corpse, and the men who lived were usually not up for sticking around when given the option.
Thinking about her penthouse caused a new question to surface. "Hey Aurion, where do you live?" Was he a homeless mutant? Were there many places in New York who would accept a giant beast of a tenant? The idea of letting him stay with her flashed through her mind, but that would restrict how easily she could bring new toys home with her.
With his hand on hers, he guided her hand with his. While he enjoyed what she was doing, just a tip of her finger was not enough for him. So as gently as he could, Aurion moved her hand, palm and fingers relaying what she felt to his own hand. Over her hip, the back of her thigh to the front, then up her leg and over her waist, coming to rest over her abdomen. He couldn't help himself from 'purring'. "You're very soft." Voice low and soft. "And so smooth." He looked her in the eyes a grin on his face. "A bit addicting."
Even though he had never been in a similar situation, Chrys' question seemed like the conformation that their time together was probably coming to an end. Even if the night wasn't exactly cold, it wasn't warm either, the fur wouldn't be enough to keep her warm, though he knew he would be fine. So of course after catching her breath, which admittedly was nice to watch, she would want to go home. She was probably being polite by asking where he lived. Not that he blamed her. She did seem to say she'd be okay if he went to her penthouse. But she didn't say when, and he didn't think she meant that night.
The forked tongue involuntarily flicked out a few times before he answered. "I have a room at Sanctuary." A small chuckle escaped him, though it was just ever so slightly forced, but mostly genuine. "I'd ask if you 'd like to see and stay, but I don't have a bed." Then he did laugh a little.
It was a new brand of ego boost when Aurion complimented her. Chrys was used to praise for her soft, silky complexion and texture, but never from a man who had spent a life time experience nothing like her. For Aurion, she was one of a kind, and that came with a selfish degree of joy. He mentioned her to be addictive and she smirked. "Most bad things are." True. Facts.
Even if Aurion did not have a bed, it was still reassuring to know that the beast man had a place to stay. "I think I'll stick with my high-rise apartment for the night, but maybe I'll go take a look at this 'Sanctuary' of yours one day." It sounded like it would have to be an interesting place to keep a resident like Aurion.
Chrys clearly had no watch, but she could guestimate the time based on when she left the club, so it was easy to assume it was getting late. After a cute little yawn, she frowned. "I should be getting back.. I have work in the morning." Daddy would be cross with her if she was late.
"Give me a ride, handsome?" Not like she would be able to exit the current situation on her own anyway. She gathered up her clothing and held it against her chest, but elected to remain in her unclothed state, wrapped comfortably in her blanket burrito.
Aurion pursed his lips at her response. She was right, but, "You're bad are you?" Smirking he lifted her hand and flicked his tongue across the inside of her wrist and palm. "Are you bad for me? Should I be worried?" He had no idea if he should be worried. No that wasn't true, he thought he should be, but at the same time he couldn't see a reason to be worried about Chrys. Physically she was no match for him, and mutation wise, unless he allowed it, he was pretty much immune to her ability. Maybe if they were together again sometime he might be concerned. But no, he wouldn't be worried that night, not about her.
"Most people have beds there, I haven't tried for a while... The last few didn't last very long." Aurion almost felt like he had to tear his eyes from her, but when he looked up from her to the sky, it did indeed seem that quite a bit of time had passed since he had met the slender woman. Aurion couldn't help himself from frowning a bit when she began gathering up her clothes. He was a bit puzzled though when she didn't start getting dressed as soon as they were gathered. "Did you drive here?" He asked while looking in the direction they both had come from. "I can bring you home if not. Where do you live?"
The flitting tongue across her palm sent a tingling sensation through her arm and straight to the core of her body. After giggling, she replied, "Silly Aurion... I'm bad for everyone." True, he was designed well against her power, but there were other ways. She earned some of his trust, and that could be useful. If worse came to worst, maybe she should just carry a crab hammer?
"I didn't drive to the club," she said, shaking her head. "I was going to pick up some big dumb guy who would drive himself into a trap," she admitted, not realizing the irony that she was sharing the information with a big guy who was indeed "picking her up," even if it was just to bring her back home to sleep.
Chrys explained the easiest route to return to her apartment. "And it's the top floor, so you can probably just get us to the roof!" It would be easier than being carried through the lobby naked and in a blanket carried by a lizard man.
"A big, dumb guy huh?" Aurion raised one scaly eyebrow at her in a 'Oh really' gesture. "I'm not quite sure how I should take that." He stood up first before he reached down and helped Chrys to her feet. In doing so, he pulled her close and wrapped an arm around her while lightly brushing the hair aside that had fallen in over her face. "And uh, did I fall into this 'trap' of yours? Hmm Chrys?" With the same hand that brushed the hair away, his knuckle followed her cheekbone, then moved to her lips. His gaze lingered there for a few heartbeats before he glanced up to her eyes then away and behind her to her clothes on the rooftop. Even though she had shared so much with him, that was one thing she couldn't do, and it was because of what he was. Aurion wondered if he would ever know what a real kiss was like.
Glancing in the direction of her home Aurion tried to remember exactly where that was. "Ahhh," Finally remembering and putting it together. "You've got a fair bit of money I guess." He spoke while giving her a sidelong glance. Getting everything into the bag was fairly simple, especially since she was 'wearing' one of the furs. After getting the other fur in with the leather sheets, he put his pants inside as well as her clothes. Looking at the bag, "You sure you don't want to put your cl..." That thought made him think of the cold air that would envelop Chry, and how the cold air would affect her. Even though he did like the effect it had on her, at least in some ways, he wasn't keen on feeling that bite of cold, and he was sure she wasn't either. "Uhh...Never mind." With that he slung the bag onto his back.
When he picked her up he made sure she would be high enough to put her arms around his neck. "Hold on." He waited until it felt like she had a strong enough grip. One hand under her, he took off at a quick, very respectable pace of about 20mph, give or take a bit when he had to go up a building or they went down in elevation. When he got to near her building, "This might be a bit uncomfortable. Sorry. I'll need both arms free...." Holding her against him his tail wrapped around her torso then between her legs before wrapping around himself, basically turning his tail into a sling of sorts. It wasn't the most comfortable for his tail, but it wasn't too difficult to maintain.
With a running jump he launched them up to the second floor. Claws dug into the bricks as he slid down a foot or so before he was able to get upward motion going. He looked at her quickly once he had that , "This part is fun." Flexing his muscles, he let himself sing a little lower in his crouch on the wall. At the same time he pulled with his arms and jumped with all he had, and propelled them straight up. Before they started to go down he caught them, climbed a bit then repeated the process until they got to the very top.
With one last 'jump' he cleared the top, caught the edge with one hand and swung them down to land on the balcony. Holding her while he unwrapped his tail from around her, he set her on the floor as gently as he could. "Enjoy the ride?" Yes he was smirking, just a lot, he enjoyed being able to show off, he didn't get to do it very often.
Aurion was asking if he fell into her trap? Chrys could not help but grin. "Well, of course. All it took was torturing an innocent civilian, getting my tongue 'sliced,' tempting you with touch, and seducing a kiss out of you!" She nuzzled her head against his chest as he pulled her close in preparation for the ride. "To your credit, most big guys are way easier than you. Seriously, I thought you'd never want to screw." The colloquialism made her chuckle as it passed off her lips. Words were funny.
When asked about her money, she nonchallantly replied, "Yup, lots. Lots and lots. I'm like, really rich." It was a nice lifeandtheywere off!
The ride was... wow. Was there a rollercoaster that compared to the running and jumping and soaring of her Big City shortcut? Aurion might have been showing off, but he deserved it. He transitioned her so she was being kept in place with nothing more than his strong tail. It was not comfortable, but it added the thrill of feeling like she could slip at any moment and fall to the ground with a splat! Her heart pitterpattered excitedly, with big pounding beats coming with every jump up the wall of her apartment building.
She was set onto the floor of her balcony, with her pulse still pounding excitedly. The life-or-death stunts got her blood boiling again. "That was... oh my... Aurion, you are the best plaything."
She got to her feet, keeping herself wrapped in the blanket as she opened the balcony door, (and realizing for the first time that she should start locking it.) The glass door opened to reveal her lavish penthouse apartment. Biting her lip, she offered, "You can go now. Or you can come in. You have earned a stay if you'd like, and I might want to do things to you again soon." Stupid stunts. Maybe she should try skydiving? It would be a fun chance to kill someone in freefall!
Aurion chuckled a bit as Chrys recounted and summarized how she and he had gone from their initial meeting to taking a tumble under furs. It sounded more than a little messed up and, in a certain way, twisted, and silly. At least that's what Aurion thought. What he did not think about was the second to last comment, that was something he'd think about later. The last one...more specifically her use of the word 'Screw', the way she used it, he didn't like it. He didn't know why, but he really didn't like what had happened being referred to like that. That cheap, throwaway.... Could that be why? Quite possibly.
On her balcony, he watched her walk to the glass door. He hadn't moved from where he had landed and set her down. Aurion felt something as he watched her, not sure what it was or why, it wasn't a physical sensation, probably. He didn't like it whatever it was and his brows began to knit together when she spoke up. "You can go now." Standing still the words popped into his gut and felt terrible. Before his mind could go too far down that path, his ears reminded his brain that they had caught more of that sentence while it had started to spiral.
Aurion's face split into a smile as he didn't hesitate to walk towards her. "I'd love to stay." The words came easily to his lips as he put an arm around her to walk her inside, catching the door with his tail. If his hand went below the waist while they walked...could you blame him?
