The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Trista cringed, fully expected to be shredded into glass shard shaped pieces- twas the fate of any stupid or dazed enough not to get out of the way as she put it....and she was the culprit right now.
The fact that a hand grabbing her roughly, spinning her round and pulling her against him, having a warm body safety behind her and the flying shards of sharp sharp pain....was a pleasant surprise.
She could feel the owner of said back grimace as the shards landing and dug in, and then she was free and looking back at Hunter, her face white as a sheet.
"Oh God oh God I'm sooo- soo sorry." she kept repeating, wringing her hands in her anxiousness- she could have killed him, as it was he was seriously hurt.
Stepping back from Trista he asked, “Are you alright?” as he reached behind him and wrenched out one of the glass shards, his face contorting in pain briefly as he dropped the shard to the floor and reached for another.
Trista's tone was Incredulous and Shocked; "Am I alright!!! What about you? Oh man, I better go get a doctor or somet....." she stopped suddenly, seeing what he was doing, her eyes unable to look away in grotesque fascination as he talked and ripped glass out of his flesh, blood dripping freely.
“That was good,” he praised, “and we will work on that later, but I’ll set it up so that you’re in a more protected environment next time, so you won’t be at risk.” He yanked out another shard, letting it drop to the floor. His hand and back were covered in blood, but he ignored it as he reached for another shard.
Tris didn't say anything, just continued to stare......eventually comming out with; "Hunter- it there something you wanna let me know......." and then, "I think I better sit down."
and crossing to the wall, leaned and then slide down it until she was sitting on the floor, still starring at Hunter.
Hunter gave Trista a warm smile as she went and sat down against the wall. Perhaps he should explain. “Have you heard of something called healing factor?” he asked, pulled out another shard, “It is a mutant ability where you are more resilient to damage and heal faster than normal. That is one of my powers.”
Reaching back with both hands he pulled out two more shards and dropped them to the floor. “In about an hour this will have completely healed,” he said walking over to where a towel was left on a bench, “So no need to worry about me.”
Picking up the towel he wiped the blood off his hands before turning back to Trista. “You’ve done well, showing that you can control all the facets of your power. I think that’s enough for one session. Next time we will focus on utilising your power while your hands are immobile, so you can defend even if your hands are trapped.”
Discarding the bloody towel he went over and extended a hand to Trista. “Now I can have Gareth take you back to New York where you can go and look at your apartment or we can go and meet one of your team mates who is living here at the lab,” he offered, “The choice is yours.”

Trista just listened and nodded and couldn't help looking up at Hunter in amazement....did he have to be so confident at everything, so calm and controlled with his powers....she didn't wanna admit being alitle jealous, so she wouldn't.
She shook her head; "Guess theres all sorts of mutations out there I got to get my head around.....been used to being just me for so long.
“Now I can have Gareth take you back to New York where you can go and look at your apartment or we can go and meet one of your team mates who is living here at the lab,” he offered, “The choice is yours.”
Tris accepted Hunters hand and hauled herself up. Hearing the final question she considered carefully, saying with a grin and a jokie voice; "Well as soon as I get out the door you'll be pulling me back in anyway......so I might as well meet the team."
Hunter helped Trista up and pulled out the last of the shards as she answered. “Very well, we’ll go and meet Xiin. I warn you,” he said, “his mutation is far more obvious than yours of mine, so try not to act alarmed when you see him.”
Instead of explaining more he grabbed a sports jacket and put it on, covering the wounds on his back. He then led Trista off into the maze of Mondragon lab corridors heading for Xiin’s enclosure.
